I've only used the search engine so far

be aware that the "readme" thingy says they may track you and store your data if you use it

I've used Yandex. It doesn't track you any more than other browsers do. Their mail service is superior to most.

Yes I love it and recently switched from Firefox (crappy slow even with latest updates). Just make sure to install the NPAPI adobe plugin for yandex browser (same as Chrome plugin). Yandex Browser is based off chromium, blink, and opera....

It has great features like auto-refresh the tab or when you click on it, translate page, even a turbo mode for fast page loading on a low speed internet connection. If you haven't got it I suggest getting it!

Yandex Browser Download

The latest updates also ensure that CC chat's pop out box does not lock up anymore.....

You may have to tweak a few setting after installing but once you get it going you will like it....feel free to let me know if you want suggestion on settings for it! :)

I HATE FF!! So stinking slow to open, and when I use it, (hardly ever, lol) it freezes up or crashes. I only use it for downloading programs, getting pics from Google Images, and using my photo editor. I use Opera mainly. I especially love that I can put multiple shortcuts into each speed dial box. Does Yandex do that or can you only put one shortcut per box? I also love Opera because I can use my own pictures to customize the speed dial page. :)

Not sure what speed dial page is...but a lot of opera plugins work in yandex but not all. You can customize the "start page" of yandex with your own picture and also put speed links on the start page that you frequently visit.....for example if you open the yandex browser the start page will have your picture in the background along with what they call "tableau" which is snapshots/links of the tabs you most frequently visit/or pin to your start page....it is highly customizable and I think your speed dial box is the same concept of 1-click opening of favorite/bookmarked tabs from the start page...

By all means though if you like opera, you will like Yandex as it is based off of some opera components but probably renamed for yandex corporation to not violate copyright....try it out you will also find it eats less cpu than firefox especially once you turn off the hardware acceleration option in yandex browser....your computer will be faster and not overheat especially laptops...due to high cpu load....
