Grrr my email is being flooded with notifications of every post I "subscribe to". I want to receive notice of private messaging but not to every subject I've posted a comment on. I keep going to general settings and I think I have stopped it but still the messages keep coming - so much so I mistakenly deleted an important message jut the other day. Please HELP!

Go to the Settings tab, then under the "my account" tab, click on "general settings" and choose "do not subscribe". :)

Hmm
As a temp solution, go to quick links, subscribed threads and mark and thread you don't want to pester you :p
the the bottom there is an option for unsubscribe.

On my way out, so someone else will have to see if they figure out the rest for you :)

The 'emergency' answer:

'Quick Links' -> 'Subscribed Threads'

Click box next to 'Notification' on [ blue ] bar at top of thread list.

Click drop-down menu button 'Selected Threads' at bottom of list.

Click 'Delete Subscription' and then 'Go' button at bottom corner.

You will have to page further down in the list to do the same to more previous threads...

Also:

'Settings' -> 'General Settings'

Set 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' to 'Through my control panel only'.

Then, the 'default' will be "no subscription"; however, you can set the subscription of each thread individually using the method above - clicking the box next to the thread in the list instead of the one on the "top bar"...

EDIT: "Kinda what Astrid said, but with a greater sense of 'urgency' and a larger 'scope'..." :D

:)
