Hey.

So I have a 4gb card but for the device I'm using this with, it can't be any bigger than 2gb or else it gets angry on me.
:(

It also needs to be formatted as FAT.

Can that be done or would it be easier just to buy a smaller card?

I'm using Windows 7.

Cheers.

Yes but going to need some more information about what device your using? Camera, android?

You would have to adjust the size of a new partition to 2gb and leave the other 2gb as unallocated space....

You can do this by using AOEMI parition manager or Easeus parition software....

most newer devices at least support 32gb or more of sd card memory allowed.....

EaseUS Partition Master - Free Partition Magic alternative, Partition Manager Software for Windows PC and Server

For cards bigger than or equal to 4gb most android devices use the new exFAT format system which is not in windows 7 but you can use the above easeus tool to do that for your sd card..

So I spent some time with EaseUS Partition Master but it just didn't work out for some reason.

The card can hold about 20 files or so, around 250 megs. Anything more and I get file format errors, deleted files, folders that can't be deleted unless the card is reformatted again, and other constant weirdness.

I can't seem to make any sense of it.

Anyway, I went ahead and ordered a smaller 2gb card online.

No big deal but I was hoping for something fun that I could do tonight.

Many thanks for the response back though Ultimatum.

At least I almost learned something new. :)

No problem, sorry it didn't work out for you.... :) Hope everything works out with the new card, if you're looking for good brands Amazon basics sd cards are good as well as Kingston....I have had both and I personally prefer Kingston as it is more reliable but price wise amazon basics sd cards do a good job as well. :)

Yeah.

I've got Amazon Prime so a Kingston card should be in my mail later today.

I wish I could have figured out what I did wrong with your app recommendation though.

Oh, and the device I'm using it for is called an EZ Flash IV.
