So NBC is broadcasting these games live and for free if one simply has a home antenna.

Even though I live in a Capitol city, the channel I have here changed from VHF to UHF several years back, the only station to do so in my area.

Anyway, my amplified antenna can't receive such a signal and I've been missing out on all the events.

I'm not finding any other way to view the Olympics through Google.

YouTube Live has no content.

Searching through recent uploads on YouTube only gives clickbait channels.

The best I can find are one minute highlight reels.

I don't understand why something that is aired for free is probably illegal to share online.

Anyway, I would love to catch up on this if possible.

Live programming or most preferably past events would be nice.

No highlights though, just a full schedule on any of the games.

If anyone has a suggestion on this that might be a little shady, PM me please.

Thanks ahead.

I swam two lengths in the pool today but couldn't even get a bronze medal.

Streamsports.me is a good website, you can watch for free, on your computer or phone....preferably computer as it streams better and with lower bandwith if needed....

You can watch NFL football like I do on it sometimes plus a whole host of sports related programming all for free just make sure you have your adblocker on so you don't get annoying popups (which they use to fund the site I guess).....

Although I'm just wondering why you would want to watch when the olympics are already over now lol ? I don't think streamsports does "old streams" but maybe they will rebroadcast the olympic events for 1-2 days after?

Yeah, I didn't realize that I had already missed it all.

I still would like to watch them but YouTube has nothing so I'm not sure where else to look now.

Thanks for the link Ultimatum.

I have it bookmarked.

The Rio games have been concluded and the torch extinguished. Now it's time for the Real games.

No problem, IDK if they will have recorded it but another great website to get online TV shows w/o commercials is....

streamtuner.ag it has the full tv series for most shows including old and new ones (except if it's currently live on TV it goes week to week for those episodes).....

maybe they will have olympic coverage there? Still another great site to bookmark....you can skip 20 min worth of commericals for every tv show so it saves you time that way :p

Hey Ultimatum, do you know of a way that I might capture these streams and play them on my television?

I have Windows Media Center that works on my Xbox 360.

I have Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 2 that can play HD videos in any video format.

I also have a wireless Chromecast device on my TV as well though I hardly ever use it.

I usually just fully download something on my computer and then watch this through Windows Media Center or Kodi, I've never done a live stream except for Twitch TV or YouTube.

Cheers and thanks for being such a good friend. :)

Hmm...well you can use a screen recorder like ShareX which is open source....

https://getsharex.com

TBH...I haven't used it much so don't know really how to work it but when I recorded my gaming replay it worked fine so it should work...there are tutorials online that can better explain it, but it's fairly simple for people to use......

Also, you can use VLC media player to stream and convert video.....I personally use VLC a lot more than any other program...not completely sure however to record but it does exist.....using the capture function within the program....

Mostly I download the tv series as an .mp4 file and watch on a smartTV or laptop....streaming is too up and down depending on your internet speed (mine is crap lol)....

If you have an android device with say 4.4+ android version you can do "miracast" which is screen duplication of your android onto a TV with miracast capability (most smart TV's nowadays)....it's like a WIFI HDMI over the air (no actual cable) screencast and is cool....

Or you can do the record like a digital VCR and use this awesome product the KWORLD UB445-U2 Hybrid tv tuner card...
and just hookup your svideo output on your laptop (may need HDMI to svideo separate adapter as newer laptops don't have SVIDEO anymore)...and hook it up to this little usb stick(tv tuner) and record it through it's TotalMedia Software....

I highly recommend this little device as it comes with fm tuner, HD-TV tuner, and the ability to recordvideo/audio like a DVR if wanted....the antenna it comes with is cheap (extending pole antenna about a 1foot in full length) but hookup a decent HDTV antenna and it picks up signals like crazy. Also you can hook up your cable connection/TV to it and watch on your laptop if you like....the input is Coax cable so you can either use free OTA HDTV or Cable (comcast etc) TV)

https://www.amazon.com/KWorld-Hybrid-Reception-Capture-UB445-U2/dp/B00AEK5WRC

Sorry for posting this now, right when I responded my internet crapped out for 12 hours ( it's very unreliable :(

So I saved my answer and am posting it today :) Hope it's not too long winded...but just some ideas to consider...

Ultimatum, using Speedtest I get 32ms ping, 3.60 Mbps down and 0.98 Mbps up.

My computer is over 10 years old and screensharing with this wouldn't be watchable.

I do have a Google Nexus 10 with Android, so that's definitely a possibility.

It struggles with playing flash videos though and my internet is sometimes too slow that I can't even view Twitch TV streams.

Also, my internet provider is Xfinity and the router uses two hotspots for some reason. The one I use is called "HOME-8C59" and is secured. There's a second one called "xfinitywifi" and that's unsecured and either a neighbor is using it or it's taking up bandwidth somehow.

Anyway, I would love to stream with VLC.

I have the Video DownloadHelper add-on for Firefox, but in order to stream, VLC needs an "MMS://" address and I don't know how to find these on websites that allow streaming.

I currently get 19 free HD channels with my antenna, so getting something better just to add one NBC station isn't that much of a concern for me at the moment.

I'll look into that Amazon device you shared for me.

Since this thread is kind of getting a little out of hand, if you ever see me online, perhaps we could message each other in the main chat room.

Cheers.

Hope Solo has been suspended for her misconduct but she retains her commercial endorsements - at least to this point. Mind you the assault charges she faced were reinstated and are still pending. Clearly a case of double standards because had it been a male athlete he would have been suspended. Amazingly, there has been very little comment on this by sports critics.

Lochte will still make some money by appearing on a TV dance show.
