Yup, that's exactly what's going on. I started at 12, and it's been 20 minutes and it says 0% kb, 0% complete. It NEVER takes THIS long to download and install updates. Help!!

Microsoft changed their patching format. They're using roll ups which combine bundles of updates into fewer larger downloads. It may take more bandwidth to update the system. Might want to avoid wireless to get them downloaded.

Yeah a couple of them said quality rollups or security rollups, or some foolishness like that. My question is, why still send out Win 7 updates if they stopped awhile ago? The support on it don't run out until 2020.. And I ain't switching to Windows 10.

I don't have wireless. At least I think I don't..lol.. Anyhoo, I just did the "hide update" option. It's too much of a pain in the keister for me to wait and wait and wait for downloads that take forever.. lol

I like windows 10....I just recommend that if you do want windows 10, buy a computer built for it...Some of the computers have run into problems after the upgrade because of some differences in the versions. I had to fight with my computer for a while to get the wireless working again, because the update messed it up.

I would say if you don't want to get windows 10, you may want to look into linux computers...I prefer linux, but use windows.

but you still have a choice....you could go out and buy a different computer....or even just download linux as the operating system of the computer you currently have....

lol.

Yea.... if it starts bugging on me I'm zapping it and getting Linux.
So far it has survived without updates though (I make sure to keep the antivirus alive)

Far from it, WIN7 will continue to be supported for a couple of more years (otherwise I would have updated to WIN10 while it was free).

I'm with ya. Win 10 has built in key loggers and voice activation. There's a reason they gave it away for free. I'll stay on 7 until it end of life's and then plan to go Linux for home use.

How did you go? The progress bars in Windows are not linear meaning it may take 10 mins to get to 10% 2 mins to get to 20% and may sit on 100% for 15 mins (I hate it when it does that lol)

My computer is fast. Normally it takes about 15 minutes to download, install, AND restart the computer.. It's probably going wonky because I refuse to upgrade to Win 10.. lol
