No Magenta.
But all black is an improvement from nothing!

If you have any other ideas, let me know. I used the film icon like Desertsrose said, up on the tool bar.

Thanks!
Fran
Make sure all your drivers and add-ons, extensions, etc java, adobe, are up to date and operational (some browsers require that they be activated). Try clearing your cache, and clearing your cookies. Defrag, all the regular computer optimizations, hmmm, can't think of anything else right now off the top of my head, but some people have been having issues for quite a while, not even being able to post images, and sometimes I am only presented with one option for image posting (from url, which is normal for PMs but not for the boards) but then it will eventually clear up, actually right away, and if I am having other problems, I will restart my computer, and that often helps...

It works for me.
1. Go to you tube.
2. Pick a video.
3. Highlight the url of that video and select copy.
4. Come here and select reply with quote.
5. Here's the kicker, go across the top.
It starts with A/A and moves across to the end.
The very last icon with color to it is to insert a video.
It's the next to last icon there is.
6. Click that icon
7. There is a bar across the top of it to put your url video in.
8. Select that rectangular box, right click it and then paste.
9. Then click okay.
10. Your video should show up and then click post quick reply.

Before you know it, you be bragging to all the new people how simple it is.

I suspect youtu.be links may be the problem. Youtu.be is a link that is redirected to youtube.com, so it is Not the location of the actual video. So if you try to post a youtu.be using the Insert Video option it can't work.
So don't select the 'share' option on youtube, but copy the full URL at the top that contains youtube.com.

Wow. How did you ever think of that?

You're right. If you click on "share" youtu.be come up.
So instead I clicked on the URL address bar and saved that.
Then went to the site and clicked on the video icon up above at the end of the tool bar.
Now I get a black video with nothing on it.

Wait. I just thought of something...

It didn't work Ugly.

It has to be this site. I've never had this problem until I got here.

THANKS A LOT. That youtu.be thing helped. I'll work more on it Tomorrow.

When was the last time you cleared your browser?
clear your browser, shut down and start up again and everything should be fine.

Hi Desertsrose

I just tried this but all I get is the URL address.

Here, I'll do it right now. There's that icon up in tools that looks like film, I'm going to click on it, and then paste the URL address in that box and then click OK...

the problem here is that you used the short youtube link.

about a year ago the forum stopped inserting the short link as a video, so it only shows as a hyperlink.

what you want to do is copy the entire address bar --

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-N7w5d1NF4&feature=youtu.be

and put that in the video toolbox instead.

this might be a good idea...
i haven't had any problems posting or seeing pictures & videos, and i clear my cache semi-regularly.

you should check that your browser is the latest version, too. using old versions of browsers can make things buggy.

But does she have the same problem with others videos as well? Is it viewing all videos, or just posting her own?

Hi Posthuman,
Ugly had thought of the above and he advised me.

It did help in getting the video screen on here, but it's all black.
It's a shame, I like to post music every now and then.

No, I mean can you see the videos other users post? Or is it only videos that you post that don't show?
