Is there a thread that covers questions on how to USE the site correctly? I mean NAVIGATE it? For instance, once a thread is resolved how do I remove it so you don't have 14000 threads going on? Also, how to use the "symbols"...one is a curved arrow, one a chat, one a chat PLUS. Also, when do you "reply to a thread" and when do you "give a QUICK Reply"? And one more ....if you go to my profile Mr. Ugly showed me how to upload a photo and he taught me well ! But its not showing in chats like other peoples are ! Only shows on my profile page. Whats up with that ? Thank you for your patience.

If it only shoved in your profile page you uploaded a profile picture.
If you check your settings for "Avatar" that is what will show up in the forums (and chat?).

Quick reply is just to enable you to start typing immediately, with fewer options.
Go advanced has more options

You cannot remove a thread, only mods can. Partially because sometimes people start a thread saying really bad stuff, tehn try to delete it before anyone can prove what they did.

The "general help" link in my signature is to a thread with some info (Ugly made it, dunno if he showed it to you)

Clicking on reply brings up the dialog box and Post Quick Reply simply posts what you have written. Go Advance gives you more formatting options and allows you to subscribe to the thread if it really is of interest to you. Once you have subscribed all the posts in the thread will appear in your profile page under the tab, subscriptions. I don't recommend this as it really doesn't make it easy to follow a thread as every single post in it will be listed. Some threads have hundreds or thousands of entries. I did this once and it seemed very hard to unsubscribe. I managed to do this but I could not even begin to tell you how it is done. Don't know much how the chats work as far as formats because I'm a forum peep. You seemed to have grasped a lot in the 2 days you have been a member.

Thank you ! I put this information of Mr Ugly's on my home screen to learn from. Alot if it applies to the version for computers and NOT phones and tablets. Because the new format is way too teeny for a phone lol. But there's a bunch of information I CAN use too. Still don't see what the little symbols are. But I used one didn't I? To reply this right now !

Thank you tourist. I'll save the "advanced"options till later then when I myself become more advanced. I meant to say forums , not chat. Oh heck no ! I'm not brave enough to CHAT yet lol. I meant to show my picture here in forums so I'll check out the avatar place. Thank you so much !

Hehe :D

The symbols you are talking of, do you mean the ones above the textbox?

The one with the chain is to make a URL (link), though normally people just paste the link directly into the textbox
I thiiink you can also use it to turn text into a link (Like in my signature)
The one to its right removes a link, in case something went wrong using the first button
The "film" should let you embed video clips, but I've forgotten how to make it work properly :p

The last one turns text into a quote
like this

Going to Full Site will fix the help page issues. Many seem to not prefer the mobile version. I, myself, don't use it on my phone. And i believe there was no mobile version when I wrote those tutorials years ago.

Today I went again to the full site and learned a lot ! Certain actions will MAKE you come back to the mobile version , but I was able to do alot and learn alot from full site ..answering a lot of my own questions. Answers are there while they are not on mobile version. Thank you all for your help and patience while I learn to navigate this.

LOL Thank you Kilden. Now that I know how to go to Full Site from my phone I'm learning a lot of what I needed to know. On mobile, you have less options or instruction I've learned. But you've taught me one thing right here and now ! (Besides how to spell ) I have a "signature"? I didn't even know I had a signature! I'll have to go to full site and correct spelling on "signature". Please, I invite ALL correction as I stumble through my first days, and thank you again ! Peace !

To do your signature, go to the Settings tab at the top of the log-in page, choose "edit signature" from the list on the left. Then do whatever you want your signature to say, and click "save changes" after you're done.

Isn't that funny? I go to edit signature and I don't see one word in that box that I've already placed there. (Mostly because I'm not sure what "signature " means yet) Please tell me the sentence I used where the word "general" is misspelled? Thank you !

You didn't mispell it. :) Ugly did, when he created the thread. Therefore, it was also mispelled when wwjd_kilden had it in her signature.

Also, you haven't created a signature yet. A signature is what is in mine. :)
