Hello all. I am looking for a driver for my Buslink external hard drive.

It is old, but because I paid for it and the installation disk, I feel they should give me
an updated for windows 10 driver free.

That is how I feel, but I will probably have to pay for ne if I ever get it.

Should anyone there know of a free (not free download) ATAPI4 Bridge Controller driver.......by all means

LET ME KNOW WHERE!

God bless you.......j

I am so cheap! I went to the page and gollowed the trouble4sooter instructions, but it has the solution to "eject" the usb storage unit. I want to keep it. I am going to go back to the page and study it and see if there is some other solution(s).

God bless you for the link and for the heart!

Hello BLB.... I am looking everywhere. Here is a long list of freeware for you to check out....... Freeware Archives - Page 3 of 61 - Into Windows

The website says it is Microsoft, hmmm? but the freeware is interesting. I am having fun getting a terrible headache trying to wade through IT ALL.

I brought an external drive with me from the USS in 2003. Upon getting situated here and getting my PC, new then, I conneted my Buslink l20/20 GB and promptly the power cable box began leaking and I could get nothing from it. Recentl I tried connecting odd cables to it, and l9o and behold one of them works, no smoke not fire, so now, several PC's later and Windows 10' i FIND i NEED THAT atapi4 Bridge Controller.

I am a chepo, but now I think I will look t jut buy one..duhh, actually I have only been at this a week or so. It will be interesting to get it opened, like a time capsule... God bless you always........j

Hi Jack,

This is all I found. Hope it helps. Click the link halfway down where it says "update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly".. Good luck.. :)

Hello all. I am looking for a driver for my Buslink external hard drive.

You know I haven't had my cup of coffee yet when I thought you were asking for an actual driver to drive your Buslink external hard drive.

I was thinking, "Why does someone need to drive his hard drive? That doesn't even make sense."

I have been up about ten hours, had plenty of coffee, and still have not found the Bridge Controller for my external hd..........

It may sound funny, but I really would like to open this timecapsule.

Anyone having a problem with any L or D series Buslink external hd, the company discontinued service for them after Windows XP. It took me two weeks due to not seeing this in one of the first pages I searched.

The solution for any of those drivers is to buy USB t IDE converter...check you sockets before purchasing.

You may also open the case and connect directly to your PC. I will not begin to try that. I would probably short out the entire neighborhood..

God bless you and keep on doing what you need to do.

Well golly! I sent a note to Buslink Corp. this morning and I already have a reply on the subject. Here it is;

"here are 2 screws at the back of the case, 1 is under the warranty sticker. Remove those 2 screws and pull out the back cover. Slide out the hard drive from the case. Flip it upside down and remove the screws holding the hard drive to the board. Slide out the hard drive from the connector on the board and remove the power connector. Now you can plug in the drive directly to your pc if you have IDE connection. If not, you can order new case from https://www.amazon.com/eForCity-3-5-IDE-Enclosure-Black/dp/B0018NEQFI"

Easy peasy right? Actually a few months ago I may have attempted this, and still may if my fingers become sensitive enough, but for now, I think I will opt for buying the USB to IDE connector....lol......coward here, right?
