Hello! I made a post a little but ago under the Christian Music forum titled "My Ally - Ellohay".

I may end up doing something more with this song and I'd like to have the lyrics removed to prevent them from being copied by someone in another song. Could you remove this post please?

You posted a link to your SoundCloud page?! If you don't want people to copy your song then remove the song from your SoundCloud page. In fact just don't let anyone ever hear your song, lest they tell someone the lyrics!

Just relax, everything's ok. And remember, lyrics are infinite. I had a song stolen so to say years ago, but did I feel bad? No. It made me think, wow I write songs worth stealing!

The fact of the matter is, if we are truly making songs for our words to get out there, inspire, help people, then coveting our own song is a sure way for that to not happen. And even if we are coveting our song because WE want to make the money from it, again, often other people copying or covering your song always works in your favour. Make the best version of your song 'first'.

When someone used my song, they only enhanced it further than I could have at the time. It was great to hear my song on the radio, and I hadn't even done anything! Thank you thief :p

Don't have too much pride in your own songs. You can infinitely write more.

I'm not sure about infinitely writing more... But I'm a private person generally, and don't like the idea of being followed around the internet, hence I was hoping to remove the connection between this site and that one. Since this one has the lyrics in the post, it was the most obvious connection.

But maybe I am over reacting. Are our posts searched by Google when people are googling and do they show up as a result?

Or post your song on the internet, it's now time and date stamped for ever. Proves who had it first.

Yeah, I guess I'll just forget it. It's just that now I can't really share that song on the other website without a connection being made to my posts here, which I didn't necessarily want. But, oh well.

Even if it were removed here that's no guarantee it won't still reflect here in Google. Often I've seen an image come up in search, for example, but when I click the link the page doesn't exist. Once you post it on the internet it stays.

That is why the site encourages people not to post their personal info on here. Whether it's an email address, or a link to a site where you've made something..

Well, initially I had no problem with making a link, but then I realized it might limit my ability to discuss things on this site that would be more private. Anyway, it's not a big deal I guess.
