Hi there:

I have Ubuntu/Linux. I've been able to post my avatar in the Chat rooms but my mike doesn't seem to work. I've put up the volume full blast for my mic on my computer but still very little sound. Also, do you know any good programmes for ubuntu/Linux to sync my HTC smartphone with my computer? Any help is good. Thanks.

Happy hunting when it comes to software to sync your HTC phone. You can probably just plug it in via USB and upload/download any content to and from as a mass storage device.

As for your mic, make sure Linux has the driver for it. If it IS supported, then go to your sound settings in the System Settings menu, and check to see if it's the default recording device (if not, select it from the drop down menu). You can also see whether the mic sensitivity from there needs to be adjusted or not. :)

Hopefully you can get it working.

Yup with my android phone, I tend to just manage it like a USB storage device. I prefer the ability to control what goes on my phone :p
As for synchronizing content such as contacts, calendar, etc I just synchronize it to my google account.

Now I'm still trying to figure out how to get stuff working with linux for cc.com. Aside from the forum, it takes some time and fiddling around to get it right. You can try another browser in linux to see if the flash plugin works better for you. I haven't had any progress using firefox, but konqueror seems to be ok sometimes.
