It means that people have liked what you have had to say on here!
For example it could be a post in the forum or a response in a thread that people have liked :)

It is kinda like the "Like" button, only people have to press rep to give it.

I personally only rep posts I feel have a very good point, and use "like" more for general... uh... liking :p

I still don't understand the rep system, and how it correlates to the little green rep dot. It seems to me that if you like a post you like it, if you like a person you rep them not their post. But I'm obviously confoosed.

What's the difference between a member, junior member, senior member, and someone marked banned? Why are people who are banned still able to post?

The rep system is not linked to the like system. every time someone gives you rep based on a post you receive rep points. The green dots reflect reputation in that for a given number of rep points (I don't know the number off hand) you get an additional green dot.

The difference between member, junior member, and senior member is based strictly on total number of posts. Banned users cannot post, what you are seeing is posts they made prior to being banned.
