Username already in use in the chatroom

Every time I go to log in to chat, I get an error saying my username is already in use. I thought maybe this would go away on it's own after a day or so, but it has been going on for weeks now. I have tried clearing my cookies and cache. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is quite aggravating :) Thanks!

Phoenix, we've had this happen to several other chatters on separate occasions... Something just makes it 'stick' even though your user name doesn't actually appear in the room. You may register a new nick name and let us know what the new one is. Your current nickname will drop off eventually- but not until RoboOp restarts the chat room server, which he avoids doing except for a couple times a year because it causes everyone on the whole site to be kicked off temporarily.

Just let me know when you make a new name. We usually ask you make something similar to your original nickname, for example, Phoenix1 or Phoenix2013.
