I saw just now that I have 96 reputation points. What does that mean? I was given a Reputation Comment, but when I clicked it there was "No Comment Made". Please explain, thank you, just curious.

Back in high school if somebody said, "That girl has a reputation," it would generally mean something quite bad.

I'm really sorry to hear about this.

if someone gives you rep points, Nancyer, it means that they appreciated the particular post they repped.

Basically, rep is another kind of like, less often given. If the person wishes to add a reason, he may do so, but it is not required.

Some kind of score is kept by the computer. But I think the exact formula relating comments, rep points and rep power is kept in a locked safe and guarded 24 hours a day. You are like the 20th person who has asked in the almost one year I have been at CC.

I've been a mod for about 4 years, and even I don't understand how the Reputation works completely. So Yeah, it's kinda complicated, I guess?

When someone gives you rep they have an option to say why. Sometimes people choose not to explain, they just leave it blank. And no, there is no way to tell Who gave the rep unless they give their name in the reasons why.
