I have a junior Muslim friend from my college. 'I had' is a better terminology since we are no longer friends, infact we are more of enemies.. So we used to have heated discussions about our faiths... and i came hard against his faith at one point... mentioning about Jihad and how they are killing us, he was visibly offended and we had a huge war over texts and he was angry, also i asked him why did Mohammed have 11 wives.. yeah i know i did wrong... I know i drove him far from Jesus, yes i can cry over it all day.. Am an idiot.
Now is there any Quranic verse wherein he is supposed to kill me... Cos i know there are verses regarding 'fighting for Allah till they believe..' i can't read the whole Quran to find, let me know therefore. Thank you. My life is at stake u see. And i know he is an angry man, banging chairs, yelling and stuff.

If your life is "at stake" then why are you on here telling us about this incident??

Muslims are not Christians. They don't know OUR God. Your friend has never known Jesus. I would just cut all ties to him, and stop talking about this on an open forum where everything said here is searchable with any search engine..

I have done similarly stupid things with a muslim co worker. I also regret it, but I don't fear retaliation.

I would suggest 1 further text telling him you are sorry and should not have spoken ill of his beliefs. Ask for forgiveness and move on regardless of the result. NOT out of fear, but to show the love of Christ in you. As you have stated, he is not going to come to Jesus by bashing his religion. But he might by showing him the love you have inside from yours.

Be Blessed

Well it's a tricky thing to ask. There are Muslims that believe anyone not a Muslim deserves death. And some that don't take to such ideas. And no doubt there are those in between. No one here can speak to what degree this individual takes his beliefs, so no one can suggst whether t here is a threat or not. People can make guesses, but not give answers. But i must admit much of this whole situation seems highly dramatisized.

In Lebanon when the Muslims took over about 30 years ago, it was reported that Muslims were killing their long time Christian friends and associates, from orders of their caliph, and verses taken straight from the qua ran. I think some of them were given the choice to convert to Muslims first, or move away, but I remember hearing that some were blind sided.
This scenario will repeat itself any and every time a similar situation presents it self. Very, very few Muslims will disobey the qua ran and or their Islamist leaders.
They are playing the long game. If it takes 50, 100, 150, 200 years, this is what they foresee in many places of the world.

We know from scripture and Jesus teaching the tree is known by it's fruit, if it is of G-d it produces the Galatians c5 qualities of love, joy, peace, patience kindness, goodness, etc.
I see at best a superficial tolerance from islamists, most times not even that, revealing to me their god isn't the G-d at all, and we know there are only 2 kingdoms, His of light and the adversaries who desires only to steal, kill and destroy.
Sounds like you attempted to fight a spiritual fight with fleshly tools thus producing failure. We are rather clearly instructed to fight the spiritual fight with spiritual means, in the spirit, following the instructions from Holy Spirit.
I and many have done so as well, we were pretty much all in western society taught religion and not relationship with the person of Jesus Christ who promises to go before us into these spiritual battles if we are truly His.
The time we spend in the prayer closet. in prayer, sets us up for the time we spend outside in the world being His hands and feet.

Yes. This verse is being used by Radical Islamists particularly ISIS:
Quran 4: 89. They would love to see you disbelieve, just as they disbelieve, so you would become equal. So do not befriend any of them, unless they emigrate in the way of Allah. If they turn away, seize them and execute them wherever you may find them; and do not take from among them allies or supporters.

According to this verse (and others) this Muslim should not have even befriended you.

If you truly believe your life is at risk, then you should inform the appropriate authorities.

I don't think there is a law where he is required to kill you. As far as I'm aware, the Quran makes the claim that all people "of the book" worship the same God. Therefore, you should both accept each other.

However, I'm not an authority on the topic, and I think that it would largely depend on which "brand" of Islam he ascribes to. I know it isn't illegal to be a Christian in Saudi Arabia (assuming that is where you are from?), however in tribal areas crimes against Christians do sometimes occur.

Which country are you in?

Milee,
My heart feels your struggle... In times like these I like to recall the serenity prayer...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

Point being - you can only control the things within your control.
As such, given your acknowledgement of the error of your exchanges - IMHO it boils down to two choices that you can control The (Christian things you can do here):
1 - Pray on it and seek forgiveness from our Lord for any wrong doing on your part and resist the temptation to dwell on what others may or may not do...
2 - Simply let him know that you are sorry for any words that you used that might have been hurtful or offensive, and that you pray that one day he might be able to forgive you. Regardless of his beliefs - it might not hurt to let him know that you will pray for him (to find peace within his heart) and that you will pray for our lords forgiveness..
God Bless

You have to understand about Muslims.

Islam itself might be violent, however, through ahadith Muslims can practice Islam in whatever manner their heart is.

It's difficult to explain, but there are literally thousands of ahadith. And they explain the Qur'an. Yet, you can sit and deny, through the science of ahadith, even those classified as sahih, or true..

The 'which ahadith are accurate' wars teach something, namely, that Muslims follow whats in their heart and accept whatever ahadith has a tendency to back that heart up.. it's literally a religion of itching ears.

There are fine people who are Muslim, there horrible people who are Muslim and there is everything in between.

The liberal Muslim provides cover for the evil Muslims because you can never say "all"..

It's almost a guerilla warfare type tactic. The goal post you can't pin down.

So it is terribly insulting when someone suggests "you" are evil, when your not. You cant presume the beliefs of the one your speaking to.

The best way to speak about matters of faith to the Muslim, is to point out the differences in the two Gods - because they are two who seem alike on the surface but are not.

Whenever you get close to truth, it has a tendency to make people angry. No one wants to be wrong - no one wants to admit their error was as horrible as this one is.. literally spending your entire life in a falsehood.

It's the most difficult thing I think to deal with, and to get over. And people will fight against that feeling.

Who wants to feel the full weight of our error? We can't even bear under such a weight without breaking.

So be truthful, speak against the faith - not the faithful. When you encounter anger, know you hit the right button, and share the love of Christ, and HIS work..

Muslims are hateful of Christians. They are taught to oppress Christians in their Koran. It happens to me often. I love Muslims but absolutely hate Islam and what it does. I have been posting for around 12 years, not one Muslim has come to the church. It is tough but we must persist in communications and try to understand their point of view so we can give good suggestions.
