Can you post a list of those things which have not happened? (Just so we'll know what you're talking about)
Jesus gave us a brief history of what was to be fulfilled before His return, and our redemption. Without getting into the many symbolisms found in the book of Revelation I thought perhaps a simple overview of this prophecy might let people know how close we really are to that time being fulfilled.
Note Blue shall= being fulfilled, while red shall be unfulfilled, purple can be neutral.
One of the easiest prophecies to understand is found in Matthew 24:14“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
I believe the first part in blue has been fulfilled, but the red part is yet to be fulfilled. But let’s look at the rest of the prophecy and see just where we are in that prophecy time line, I’m going to use the book of Luke because it gives more insight into the time line.
Luke 21:5-28[SUP]5 [/SUP]And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,[SUP]6 [/SUP]As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.[SUP]7 [/SUP]And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
Note, the question the disciples asked Jesus was about the Temple at Jerusalem they were presently looking at, not some future temple.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. (fulfilled)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass;(fulfilled) but the end is not by and by. (the end is not fulfilled)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. (partially fulfilled)
Note Jesus takes us near the end there, but brings us back in verse 12 by saying “but before all these things”
[SUP]
12 [/SUP]But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.[SUP]13 [/SUP]And it shall turn to you for a testimony.[SUP]14 [/SUP]Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:[SUP]15 [/SUP]For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.[SUP]17 [/SUP]And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.[SUP]18 [/SUP]But there shall not an hair of your head perish.[SUP]19 [/SUP]In your patience possess ye your souls. (fulfilled but ongoing)
Note, now Jesus is answering the original question of what will become of the temple and Jerusalem.
[SUP]
20 [/SUP]And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.[SUP]21 [/SUP]Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.[SUP]23 [/SUP]But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.[SUP]24 [/SUP]And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations(fulfilled) and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” (fullness of Gentiles not yet fulfilled)
Note what event marks the completion of “times of the Gentiles being fulfilled”
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (partially fulfilled)
Note, the nations have been in distress ever since the Arab spring uprising, and there has already been signs in the sun and moon 2014 and also coming in 2015. But the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] seal sign will follow to confirm this time of the Gentiles being fulfilled, as we see in next verse.
[SUP]
26 [/SUP]Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (6[SUP]th[/SUP] seal sign)
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (yet to be fulfilled)
So we see by Jesus’ testimony how close we really are to the final events leading up to the coming of the Lord. One other thing I would like to mention is this. The time period between the Covenant God made with Abraham at 99 years of age… to the New Covenant in Jesus blood was approx. 1986 years. We at this current time are approx. 1983 years from the New Covenant Jesus brought in at age 33 till now. There is only a few years difference between the 2 time periods, give or take based on approximation. Just all the more reason to watch!
