Here are some scriptures that say God makes nothing void that everything he does is perfect then the scripture that says the earth was void.

Genesis 1:1New King James Version (NKJV)

The History of Creation
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Heaven is a mistranslation the hebrew says shamiim
that word means heavens.

There’s three heavens the first heaven is genesis 1:7,8 that is the heaven you look at the sky.

The second heaven is ephesians 6

The third heaven thats corinthians.

So we have three heavens we have the heaven that belongs to the earth then

The heaven is a planet not a atmosphere or a cloud.

When God created the heavens and the earth he created heaven his dwelling place there was a time when time did not exist.

Deuteronomy 32:4New King James Version (NKJV)
4
He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He

Isaiah 45:18New King James Version (NKJV)
18
For thus says the Lord,
Who created the heavens,
Who is God,
Who formed the earth and made it,
Who has established it,
Who did not create it in vain,
Who formed it to be inhabited:
“I am the Lord, and there is no other.

Ecclesiastes 3:11New King James Version (NKJV)
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

Isaiah 45:18 says God makes nothing void.

Genesis 1:2New King James Version (NKJV)
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

there was no light total darkness

the waters were frozen

where did the ice come from the earth was flooded

heieh the earth became form and void

the word let is a word of permission not creation

Job 38:8New King James Version (NKJV)
8
“Or who shut in the sea with doors,
When it burst forth and issued from the womb;

Job 38:25-30New King James Version (NKJV)
25
“Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water,
Or a path for the thunderbolt,
26
To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one,
A wilderness in which there is no man;

[Proof of a flood that was before Adam.]

27
To satisfy the desolate waste,
And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?
28
Has the rain a father?
Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29
From whose womb comes the ice?
And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?
30
The waters harden like stone,
And the surface of the deep is frozen.

Psalm 104:5-9New King James Version (NKJV)
5
You who laid the foundations of the earth,
So that it should not be moved forever,
6
You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
The waters stood above the mountains.
7
At Your rebuke they fled;
At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.
8
They went up over the mountains;
They went down into the valleys,
To the place which You founded for them.
9
You have set a boundary that they may not pass over,
That they may not return to cover the earth.

The waters of noah was not instantaneous dryness like this.

Job 9:5-9New King James Version (NKJV)
5
He removes the mountains, and they do not know
When He overturns them in His anger;
6
He shakes the earth out of its place,
And its pillars tremble;
7
He commands the sun, and it does not rise;
He seals off the stars;

Jeremiah 4:23New King James Version (NKJV)
23
I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void;
And the heavens, they had no light.

Jeremiah 4:23-26New King James Version (NKJV)
23
I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void;
And the heavens, they had no light.
24
I beheld the mountains, and indeed they trembled,
And all the hills moved back and forth.
25
I beheld, and indeed there was no man,
And all the birds of the heavens had fled.
26
I beheld, and indeed the fruitful land was a wilderness,
And all its cities were broken down
At the presence of the Lord,
By His fierce anger.

They found an elephant with food in its mouth frozen.

Isaiah 14: 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
22 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.

There were two edens the preadamic eden and eden.

Moses was the one that whom wrote the book of Genesis, and he is stating to the space that is above him that is filled with starry lights and his surroundings. Then He goes into detail about how these things were created.

I posted about a flood in which there was no man I cannot give an exact date but this is just to open your mind to the fact that there was a gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.

Justin, that's an interesting theory. I see that you quote the NKJV exclusively, so I would encourage you to read each of the passages you quote in several different translations. For example. Isaiah 45:18 in the NASB says, "He established it and did not create it a waste place".

As the preface to the 1611 KJV states, "variety of translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures."

By the way, "open your mind to the fact that" comes across as arrogant and, ironically, closed-minded. Perhaps "share my understanding that" might be a little less so. :)

EG, I saw in a post that you once believed in the GAP.

Where is satans fall? I believe it is right here.....................

Gen 1:1~~New American Standard Bible
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Jere 4~~ 23I looked on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void;
And to the heavens, and they had no light. 24I looked on the mountains, and behold, they were quaking,
And all the hills moved to and fro.
25I looked, and behold, there was no man,
And all the birds of the heavens had fled.
26I looked, and behold, the fruitful land was a wilderness,
And all its cities were pulled down
Before the LORD, before His fierce anger.

How do you explain this? Just coming from the idea that you once believed in GAP, this had to be presented in your belief. How has your interpretation changed or how am I seeing this wrong?

So you believe Genesis is wrong. Genesis 9 and the flood of Noah shows there was only 1 flood in addition to the red and underlined verse in your quote.....

They has found evidence that the earth sit upon an ocean of water that is beneath the crust. And from their new theory that they believed that there were a global flood, that the earth flooded at a time as a cleansing process. And if there were only a flood, then how the sea creatures had died? And so that there has to have been volcanic activity going on as well, in order to destroy the sea creatures and to emerge the crust from out of the water. And so scientist are measuring layers of sediments that has accumulated of the earth's restoration process, but they believed that it has taken for a long period of time. But cannot believed that this could of happened in days.

I am with ya. just as long as there is no evolution, a pre Adamic race that is other than the angels or man is older than the restoration of the earth in Gen 1:2 and beyond.

Justin, have you studied the Kingdom conflict or angelic conflict?

Because that is what the GAP is. It is satans fall and it gives us(mankind) the answers of WHY we are here. satans done a masterful job at covering it up.

We are witnesses for God to satan in this kingdom conflict.

In the hebrew the word translated was is the word hyea there's two groups one says was just like I was and you were and the other is Became. So it has two meanings was or became so if your of the opinion it was then your of the opinion the earth was 6,000 years old if you think its translated became you think the earth is millions of years old.

If Genesis 1:1 is a work of perfection according to Isaiah 45:18 and Psalm 18:30 and 2 Samuel 22:31 if so then what caused the earth to become without void and form and empty and dark.

If so there is a gap there is a question what happened between verse 1 and 2 this earth is far older then thousands of years old according to science.

If the earth is millions of years old then who dwelt here before adam because we know from the scripture since adam it has been 6,000 years so yes I would say to you it's been 6,000 years since adam walked the earth.

But how about before that if the earth is so old then for all that time was the earth empty was it formless and void and just a nothing in space I don't believe that I believe the God created the earth perfection and the world for a long time was in total harmony with Gods plan for it.

All angels are older then the earth all angels had a beginning they were created they are not eternal as God is.

The Bible says in Job 38:4-7 that the angels were present when God created the earth.
[h=1]Job 38:4-7New International Version (NIV)[/h]4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone—
7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels[a] shouted for joy?

2 Peter 3:3 “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”

Notice in verse 4, it tells us that the flood here happened from the beginning of creation, which was in Genesis 1:1. Noah’s flood was not at the beginning of creation. Verse 5 even tells us that the heavens and earth were of old.

Verse 6 says that “the world that then was” perished being overflowed with water. The world is this verse is a combination of the heavens and the earth according to verse 5. That is saying the entire universe was under water, certainly this is not Noah’s flood. Noah’s flood did not flood the heavens. See Genesis 7:19-20.

The flood in 2 Peter 3:3-6 is the same flood in Genesis 1:2 and Job 38:7-8.

As for jer 4, it is a prophesy concerning Israel. Look in context. and not by removing a small portion and trying to give it a different meaning..

Or how about Gen 1 is the heavena and earth in its origional state and the rest is the finish of creation.

Or a typical jewish use of writting, Gen 1 is the act, God created the heavens and the earth perfect.

Starting in verse 2. It shows us how God created the earth and heavens, In its earliest state, the earth was void and withoug form..

many many reasonable answers.. GAP is not the only one..

Jeremiah 4 cannot be a prophesy concerning Israel for many reasons.
1. In this verse the earth (was form and void) exact words of [Genesis 1:2]
2. There was no light.
3. His use of was formless and void proves this is a past tense vision not a future vision
4. There was no man yet there was birds and mountains proving this is not a future event since the earth is filled with men and according to Genesis the birds were created after man so this event must be placed at the time of before man.

The next few verses destroy this theory.

[SUP]27 [/SUP]For thus says the Lord:
“The whole land shall be desolate;
Yet I will not make a full end.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]For this shall the earth mourn,
And the heavens above be black,
Because I have spoken.
I have purposed and will not relent,
Nor will I turn back from it.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]The whole city shall flee from the noise of the horsemen and bowmen.
They shall go into thickets and climb up on the rocks.
Every city shall be forsaken,
And not a man shall dwell in it.

Where did all these men come from.. Not to mention cities..

Context Context..

It cannot be a future prophesy because the Bible says Genesis 9:11I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”Also the people on the earth before Genesis 1:2 were the pre adamic race.
