[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"] What are you more conscious of today? Your sins or the fact that you have been forgiven? My friend, don’t be conscious of your sins. Be conscious instead of Jesus and His finished work. The Lamb of God has taken away all your sins at the cross, so count on the fact that you are a forgiven child of God!

No matter what has happened or what you have done, God wants you to know that because of His Son’s finished work, He will be merciful to your unrighteousness, and your sins and lawless deeds He will remember no more. (Hebrews 8:12)

That is why you should not be conscious of your sins. In fact, when you are sin-conscious, the devil brings in condemnation, and the more you receive it and condemn yourself, the more you will find yourself unforgiving toward yourself and even others.

I was told by a pastor friend that when a lady, who had cancer on her face, asked for prayer for healing, the Lord revealed to him that it was self-hatred that was keeping her from receiving her healing. She could not forgive herself and was full of self-condemnation.

When she realized her problem, she counted on the fact that God was merciful to her unrighteousness and that she was already forgiven. She received the love of God. Then, right before the pastor’s eyes, her whole face changed—she received her healing that very moment!

Something happens when you believe that you are forgiven. That is why God says to you, “I want you to believe that all your sins I will remember no more. I want you to believe that you are My child enjoying My mercy and that you can always count on My forgiveness.”

Beloved, remember that all your sins have already been paid for by Jesus on the cross. And the more you count on the fact that you have the Father’s forgiveness and that He does not condemn you because of Jesus’ finished work, the more sin and its effects—sickness, hatred, lack and so on—will lose their grip on you. You will find yourself walking in a greater measure of God’s grace and blessings!

Not being conscious of past sins that have been forgiven and cleansed, not living in a fearful state of sinning, and not thinking that everything one does is sinful are great ideas.

However, having a mindset that sins not yet committed are already forgiven and thus can simply be disregarded (as the author of this comment does) is just ungodliness and foolishness.

On the subject of forgiveness that we have in Christ now because of His precious Blood...here is what the scriptures say..

1 John 2:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake.

have been forgiven = perfect passive

perfect =
The perfect tense expresses perfective action. Perfective action involves a present state which has resulted from a past action.

This present condition in the perfect tense in Greek is a continuing state; the past action is a completed action. It is continuously in the present in a completed state which resulted from an action in the past

passive = voice = action is happening to you....you are not doing it

Without a doubt this verse says that the sins are forgiven from a past action that remains in a continuous completed state and that was given to them....not something they did to achieve it.

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In whom we have redemption through his blood,the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We have redemption = present continuous action...so this means we have present continuous forgiveness of our sins...

and look...that grace stuff shows up again!...it's all according to the riches of our loving Father's grace that He has given to us in Christ our Lord.

Colossians 1:13-14 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Same thing here too...present continuous action =
forgiveness of sins

Ephesians 4:32 (NASB)
[SUP]32 [/SUP] Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Colossians 3:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just
as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Redemption!..we have been bought with the precious Blood of Jesus... Let's honor His work.

Brethren ...we have a great salvation in our Lord! Walk in the knowledge of your forgiveness in Christ and in that security we will experience maturity.

No one is downplaying the importance of holiness. No where in the OP's post is sin disregarded, rather it points to the solution. God's grace. Jesus. Believing God that He doesn't condemn us. Also, no one is downplaying the significance that sin plays in quality of life and happiness. It isn't being disregarded in the least, but what is being shared is simply the truth that God doesn't condemn us for our sins and that all sin has been paid.

This does not lead to complacency, but to victory. Complete and total forgiveness grants a person the ability to learn, unhindered. Dare you dabble in sin, you'll see its consequences. Dare you dabble in righteousness, you'll see its fruit. This is not a license to sin, or dabble, however because as a new creation we become dead to sin and alive unto God. VVe walk in newness of life.

Such dabbling is only done in a lack of maturity, or a lack of revelation of your identity in Christ. That is to say, you are the righteousness of God, in Jesus Christ by imputation. You realise your sinful actions do not come in agreement with who God has made you to be. As the Lord said be perfect as He is perfect, that is not a matter of becoming, but of present being. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. All of this is done by God's process of sanctification and Holy Spirit as Teacher.

You see, sin is not being dismissed but rather Christ is being acknowledged. He took care of our sin at the cross, He did not die in vain. He has given us the means by which sin does not have dominion. Under grace.

Right, there is no reason to worry about your sins, they are gone, unless someone has a sin they are not giving up,then you should worry about that sin,for if you repented of all your sins, then they are gone, but if you have sin that you will not give up,then it is not gone, until you repent of it.

And do not let temptations beat you down, for we will all be tempted, and do not think you are doing anything wrong when tempted, for we will all be tempted, which God said do not think that it is strange when you are tempted, for we will be tempted, and is not something out of the ordinary, that any other person does not go through.

Hey Brothers!!! So glad you're posting about grace!! I can't hear enough about His grace, can't get enough of His grace, can't talk about it enough, think about it enough. There just isn't enough about Jesus and His grace and truth on these forums.

As you said Jesus is being acknowledged and sin loses it's it's dominion in our lives because. "For sin - shall not - have dominion - over you - for you are not under law but under grace." Amen. Preach grace and it teaches us how to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts., how to live soberly/righteously/godly in this present age.

Preach law and it empowers sin. Read 1 Cor.15:55-56 O Death, where is your victory? Oh death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Instead of Christians preaching grace they are preaching the law.

The sting of death is sin..and the power of sin is the law; Should Christians be preaching the law to each other or should they be preaching grace to each other? By all means ...GRACE.

Amen ....ladylynn - we are to fix our hope on the grace being brought ( present tense ) to us of the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Preach Jesus and His finished work and grace through faith comes by hearing about Jesus. Sounds a lot like ph. 2:8-9 - by grace you are saved through faith....

There is no greater revelation we can get - then to know Jesus Christ and with Him we know our good, loving Father too. He is the exact image of the Father's nature.

1 Peter 1:13
[SUP]13 [/SUP]
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Good morning my friends:) Isn't it great to know that even on a cloudy day, the Son is still shining? To wake up and know I am forgiven, to wake up and know His mercies are new each morning(Lam 3:22-23)

"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall." Malachi 4:2
