Love fills a need. Usually a need that a person can't fulfill themselves.
It has nothing to do with trying to follow the letter of what love is.
Its about following the spirit of what love is.
You can't give what you haven't first received.
Which doesn't have anything to do with obeying Moses. You don't receive a thing from trying to obey the law.
