Just a few points on this ben. Matthew did indeed quote Isaiah 53:4 at Matthew 8:17 and the issue of physical healing. Matthew quoted it because Jesus Christ did physicaly heal people during His earthly ministry. The context indicates supports that fact.
On the other hand the main purpose of Isaiah 53 had to do with Jesus Christ relieveing evil in all forms on account of sin including physcial healing and more importantly "spiritual" healing. This the main point the Apostle Peter was making at 1 Peter 2:24. What the wof teachers do with Isaiah 53 is teach that physical healing is "guaranteed" in the atonment.
In fact, some of the teachers have their followers "chant" Isaiah 53 until you do get physically healed. And if the person is not healed they blame the person on the basis of at least two main reasons. One, the person does not have enough faith. Or two, the person has sin in their life therefore God will not hear you or heal you. The point I am trying to make is the fact that the wof teachers take this to such an extreme that no matter what happens if your not healed it is your fault.

Guys like JP exist because there is no discipleship in the church.
The culture is determining what the church does instead of the bible.
The videos posted in this thread serve to illustrate the lack of separation between the church and the world among the posters present here in this thread.
If after your profession of faith you do not walk in newness of life you need to question your profession.
Scripture teaches that those who are in Christ have the Holy Spirit witness with their spirit that they are Christ's. If that witness does not teach walking holy and separate from the world then one ought to question what they got from their conversion.
If you are not growing in grace and truth you may not be alive in Christ but still dead in your sins.

Isn't it possible to concede that we who you call HGs are actually your brothers and sisters in Christ? That it is possible for us to all agree to disagree and have a fun time bringing out the things we see as we study these issues? We all do have Christ as our Savior and with Him we can still get along even though our personalities and Bible interpretations are not the same.
I have listened to JP for some years now just like for years I listened to Charles Stanley and David Jerimiah and Ravi Zacariah and all those other men of God from 30 yrs ago. They are each teaching the Bible. Each bring to the table some major good things to enhance our Christian lives. Today there are many more amazing teachers we have access to via the internet from all over the world.
And I'm thinking this way also because of the things going on in the media and politics. What a mess the world is in. Christians can be such an encouragement to each other now especially. Years ago I would be afraid of seeing such junky politics but today because of the confidence in Christ that I have now because of learning about grace., there is a boldness to move forward. It's awesome.
