I would like to know what church you attend if it honors the seventh day?

I currently don't have a local fellowship, though I am a member of the Church of God (Seventh Day) Boston Massachusetts.

Matthew 28:1

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

John 4:21Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.…
Matt 18:20"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."

Ever since there has been more information about the people scripture first used to explain the principles of God, there have been more people who use the seventh day of the week to celebrate Sabbath on. Before such as the deep sea scrolls were found, people had no idea that the word Sunday meant day of the Sun, not the day first set aside for God. Nimrod, the grandson of Noah who started making the sun a God was only a strong man mentioned in the bible until other writings were found. There were very few people who knew anything about the beginnings of our organized church and the history of how all the church decided to make the first day of the week the Sabbath.

When this was made common knowledge, many people wanted to go back to the original day God set up for Sabbath and they did. Even in the first days after Christ, scripture had to scold people who used this to stop love between people. We have scripture saying not to do this, but even that is read as scripture saying one day is the only right way and anyone choosing different from the other must not be loved because of it.

Now, in our churches using denial of scripture as the scripture they follow, they say anyone who does not deny a special day is not to be loved. They point judging fingers at Sabbath keepers saying they are trying to do that only to be saved, and so keeping Sabbath insures God won't save them.

So all people who are quietly going ahead with loving the Lord and respecting what God says, please don't think of the people who are throwing stones at you for doing this, send the Lord's blessing to them instead, ignore their barbs and stones and glory in the love of the Lord, instead.

Bless you all and bless this day.

The name of the day is not important. The important part is that you take a day, to spend with your church family, and your personal family. The object of the day of rest was to spend time with your family, to learn to know and love them better. that's it, that's all there is to it, and most who take the time to go to church never take enough time to learn to know those who sit on the same pew they do, let alone the ones on the other side of the building. That is the reason we need committees, circles, boards, consistories, and what ever else to give people a chance to interact and learn to know others.

Why not if one considers it as a day off work? I'm homeless together with a few others.

Scripture is always wonderful, scripture is always truth. When our gatherings are in the Lord's name and the Lord is included, there is always an added, marvelous dimension.

Maybe, it is only my being wary of people, but so often a scripture truth is given and to be read as something to deny other scripture truths rather than something to learn from. Surely, you are not trying to make this say we should not honor God by allowing Him to give us a Sabbath? I have seen this done so often it makes me feel protective of all scripture, and of course it isn't up to me it is up to God.

Our church meets every Saturday for most of the day; 11-5ish. We just got home and will continue relaxing until sundown.

Amen! Worship God in Spirit and in truth but most people forget about the truth part. The seventh day is the Lord's Day just like He said. So if you don't honor the seventh day then this thread is not for you. Have a blessed day...

I have a friend named Manny who attends an SDA church in I believe Winter Park. Every time I visit my sister in Florida I meet up with him and we go out to a Mexican restaurant. I've attended the SDA in Titusville a few times because it's right down the street from my sister's house.

What church do you attend? Are you homeless by choice or by unfortunate circumstances?
