Well sometimes when i go to bed I start thinking about any subject and then my brain does the rest! When we are asleep, our whole body rests so that the brain can concentrate on itself and it can go to many directions! Sometimes there are connections with what we are living at the moment in a way to evacuate stress! The brain is so powerful that anything is possible! think about the billions of connections between our neurons! Think about people who are quadriplegic and can only use their brain like Steven Hawking for example! Just unimaginable or unthinkable or incredible!

Seow rightly reads Job’s friends against the grain of interpretive trends by viewing them as — in principle at least — caring, reasonable theologians whose main concerns with Job are his refusals to accept the finitude of his human condition and to trust the justice and goodness of God. For Eliphaz, Seow writes, “human creatureliness means that one can only stand before divine sovereignty in hopes of grace.” With Job, however, Seow tends to follow a standard interpretation according to which Job counters the friends by emphasizing the significance of his experience as indicative of a gap separating God from any principle of justice. One regularly gets the sense that, for Seow, the answer lies neither with the friends nor with Job alone, but rather in maintaining them in tension. For Seow, “Job’s view becomes problematic when it is absolutized,” just as the friends’ “theology from on high … must be balanced by [Job’s] theology from below.” My sense, on the contrary, is that Job’s view of the “absolute” is profoundly — even structurally — different than that of his friends. A combination of theology from above and theology from below is impossible without compromising what makes Job’s position so radical, interesting, and superior. In my opinion, Job’s perspective is neither reconcilable with nor susceptible to the same problems that face the friends’ precisely because he sees the absolute not as a transcendent given but as an immanent perspective that emerges from the conditions of his life and experience. Of course, such particular interpretive differences should not detract from all the rich philological, philosophical, and theological insights that I have gleaned from Seow’s work.

Wait a moment ! Is it so difficult to see a man, who is SUFFERING and COMPLAINING and CALLING God FOR HELP !

Does suffering have spiritual value?

Without question it does. It only has value because God uses it. Suffering by itself is not valuable. God working through suffering is valuable.

We just have to remember biblical characters such as Moses and David, the years they spent in the wilderness to become efficient leaders. They were trained through hardship.

Wisdom comes from fearing God and turning away from evil.

Humility is key. Pride can interfere with us following the wise ways of the Lord. And when pride interferes it clouds our vision, and before we know it – we are on the wrong path towards evil. Job explains in Job 28:28:
Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’
Yes, it is as simple as that but in this world what is simple is always difficult because that’s not trendy and that’s also why we are where we are that is nowhere !

Despair in the Midst of Suffering
5 # Short Commentary and Lesson from Job 7.1-21

Life is hard. There's no getting around that fact. When the circumstances of suffering build to a crescendo, despair comes crashing in. It seems there is nowhere to turn. The family is powerless, and God seems absent.

Job cried out his distress in a way that echoes our own. His pain was unbearable, he couldn't sleep, he felt hemmed in, and he had come to the end of his rope. But wait - this is not the end of the story. While Job raged, God listened quietly waiting for his opportunity to answer Job's cries. It is okay to express our anguish to God as long as we remember to give him time to respond.

Like Job, we need to speak to God and complain and evacuate the stress and shout and laugh and do something and react and think about what faithful characters of the bible would do and walk in nature and breathe and rest.

Job Meets God
16 # Short Commentary and Lesson from Job 38.39-42.6

Until this time, Job's knowledge of god was based on what he had heard from others. Now God unveils as much of himself as Job's senses can bear - the beauty of nature and the wonders of the animal kingdom. The animals listed by God all have a love for freedom. Although some are predators, others can be domesticated. Such is the depth and breadth of God's creation.

From the stars in the heavens to the insects crawling beneath our feet, God puts all this in place. How can we complain about trivial problems before such a mighty God? He doesn't want our worry; He doesn't want our worry; he wants our worship.

As Job realizes that he has "talked about things . . . beyond my understanding" (42.3) he is ashamed of his former pride. This kind of humility is the first way we are affected when we come to know God as he is. Humility and rising above personal suffering is the key to a greater understanding of the power of God.

We must get ready to meet God! Think about the few men who had the opportunity to communicate directly to God in heaven! Think about the privilege to live in a world directed by God himself and his principles, not directed by personal interest, but for the well-being of the whole humanity and not for a minority!

- Worship God even in your hard times.

When we try to follow God’s commandments in our life, it’s like keeping pace or running a marathon, we know where we go and we keep going whatever may happen. We maintain the same energy, we don’t waste it and we get endurance.

3. You can have the right theology but still make wrong conclusions. Words matter.

The apostle Paul knew a lot about the Bible, he was well educated, he was sincere but he was wrong and he used to persecute Christians. His eyes had to be opened! And then he did an incredible job! But he also had to fight against those who were from the inside, the so-called super apostles and he also had to make personal choices in relation with his own experience! What is sure is that we must keep learning about God and his will and his purpose! So we must be active learners!

#1 - God is great!

Job's sin (and the lesson that he learned) was that the greatness of his God far surpassed what Job originally thought. People rarely, if ever, overestimate God or what He can do. Our problem, like Job, is thinking that God is simply a better version of ourselves. Small faith has a small God, but biblical faith believes in the God who created all, sustains all and will transform all when Jesus returns.

« I don’t think God is great, In fact I don’t think we can find an adjective to describe him. Can we say the thunder or the lightning or the storm are great ? I don’t think so and God is above such natural elements. And I would never think of God as a better version of ourselves : how is it possible to compare the creator and his creation, no way ! But what I know is that there is so much we can learn by working for him to turn the earth into a paradise and thisz forever ! »

This is a good lesson for Christians. Don’t judge people that are sick. Or people that have bad things happen to them. Not all bad things have to do with God’s correction. Of course Romans 8:28 all things can work together for good. God can use any situation to get our attention. But sometimes people in life are just suffering and need prayer. Need a helping hand. Someone to be there to show a heart of compassion.

Exactly and Job was alone and nobody was there to help him. Fortunately, God blessed him at the end and listened to him. But he was let alone by all the people he knew or he had helped before. And nothing has changed, on the contrary!

Looking for more lessons from the book of Job, I found that video:

The Book of Job

In this video, I found some points to discuss:

1- “In other moments he’s doubting God’s goodness”

- That’s wrong: you can make people say anything if you don’t take into account the context and the context in the case of Job is that he is in the pit, he is completely down, he has no way to escape, he would prefer to die and he is calling God because he doesn’t understand what’s going on and every time the devil finds a new way to make things worse for Job.

2- “He even comes to accuse God of being reckless unfair and corrupt”

- There is absolutely no accusation: is that so difficult to listen to Job? Even when he is completely down, he keeps fighting and defending himself and always calling for God to be able to defend himself.

3- “From Job’s point of view it looks like God is not just”

- That’s crazy: how is it possible to say such a thing? That’s the same when you look at the Gospels and the accusations of the religious leaders, they have everything in front of them but they don’t care!

4- “Job asking God to defend himself is actually kind of absurd”

- Is that a joke? Job wants the possibility to defend himself in front of God, that’s why he is calling for God and he does it incessantly!

Looking for Job

Job 2: Then god says to Satan:” Where have you come from?” Satan answers God: “From roving about on the earth and from walking about in it.” And God says to Satan: “Have you taken note of my servant Job? THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM ON THE EARTH. HE IS AN UPRIGHT MAN OF INTEGRITY, FEARING GOD AND SHUNNING WHAT IS BAD. HE IS STILL HOLDING FIRMLY TO HIS INTEGRITY, EVEN THOUGH YOU TRY TO INCITE ME AGAINST HIM TO DESTROY HIM FOR NO REASON.”

And the LORD said unto
Satan, From whence comest
thou? And Satan answered
the LORD, and said, From
going to and fro in the
earth, and from walking up
and down in it.

And the LORD said unto
Satan, Hast thou considered
my servant Job, that [there
is] none like him in the
earth, a perfect and an
upright man, one that
feareth God, and escheweth
evil? and still he holdeth
fast his integrity, although
thou movedst me against
him, to destroy him without
cause.

- Here we have the testimony of God about Job!

- IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH OR NOT?

Looking for Job

Job 2:

Then we get the three “individuals” who come to Job:

When they see him from a distance, they don’t recognize him.

- Think about that: they can’t even recognize him so imagine his physical condition!

- And I’m not speaking about his mental condition!

Looking for Job

Job 6:
If only my anguish could be fully weighed
And put on scales together with my calamity!
Oh that my grief were
throughly weighed, and my
calamity laid in the balances
together!

- anguish: severe mental or physical pain or suffering.

- grief: intense sorrow, especially caused by someone's death.

- Job is able to express what he feels with words and especially one which is « anguish or grief »

- And he clearly connects his mental health with what has just happened in his life !

- And we must add the words : « fully weighed, put on scales, throughly weighed, laid in the balances” which insist on the intensity of his stress!

Looking for Job

Job 6:
O that my request would be realized
And that God would grant my desire!
That God would be willing to crush me,
And that he would reach out his hand and
do away with me!
For even that would bring me comfort;
I would leap for joy despite the unrelenting
pain,
For I have not denied the sayings of the Holy
One.

- Job wants to die, he doesn’t speak about committing suicide, he begs god to make him die like a favor, just to be in peace, in rest. Think about the last line:

FOR I HAVE NOT DENIED THE SAYINGS OF THE HOLY ONE

- Can you hear the chorus:

THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM ON EARTH
THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM ON EARTH
THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM ON EARTH

- Job is true to his faith in God!

Looking for Job

Job 6:
Do I have the strength to keep waiting?
And what end awaits me, that I should
continue to live,

- It seems to be Job is in front of us, we see how he feels at any time right now and then, he is talking to us and telling us his deepest feelings and his pain and suffering and everything which goes through his mind! It is the same for us when we don’t what comes next, it is as if we were watching us, being our own spectator!

Looking for Job

Coming back to this verse in Job 6:
Honest words are not painful!
But what benefit can be found in your reproof?

- HONEST WORDS – BENEFIT – REPROOF

- ENCOURAGING PEOPLE IS A POWERFUL WEAPON!

- SOMETIMES WE CAN ALSO ENCOURAGE BY OUR PRESENCE MEANING IT IS NOT ALWAYS NECESSARY TO SAY A WORD!

- THERE IS A TIME FOR EVERYTHING!

- IN A MEAL WE CAN ADD SALT OR PEPPER TO MAKE IT TASTIER!

- SOMETIMES IT IS GOOD WITHOUT SALT AND PEPPER!

Looking for Job

- Of course, there are many different situations where to find desperation!

- And there are different levels of desperation!

- Of course, Job was not going to die!

- Probably, the hardest desperation is when people are going to die!

- It’s not the time to wake up when people are dead!

- We must do something when they are still alive!

- When we are present, we show that we care!

- It is important to take advantage of any minute to show people that we love them or appreciate them!

Looking for Job

Job 7
My flesh is covered with maggots and clods of
dirt;
My skin is full of scabs and pus.
My days go by more quickly than a weaver’s
shuttle,
And they come to an end without hope.

- Can you believe that: there is no future for Job, he has no hope, everything is dark!

- How is it possible that he finds the energy to fight back and with such an energy?

- Unbelievable!
