Who is it that lead you when we read the Bible? some people just go to church and what ever is spoken over the pulpit they take it for face value, do your pastor make mistake sometimes? or are you led by the Spirit of God to know the truth when you here it. I have heard so many people mis quote scriptures to their surprise it even seem that what they have read is what another have said. do you know what I mean?
exmp.. like when they say that the three wise men were in the manger at the same time the sherpards were.... but they were not... it was two years later when the wise men made it to Jesus and he was in a house. what do you see when you read the Bible? is it what someone said or what God has revealed to you by his Holy Spirit? God Bless All...

Actually, it was the wise men who visited the infant Jesus with Mary in the house before their exodus to Egypt to escape Agrippa. In 1 John 27 it says, "but the anointing which you have received of him abides in you and you do not need that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teasches you of all things and is truth and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in HIM.
It is true that most people do not seek truth. They are deceived into believing that if the pastor is wrong, he will answer for it more than they will. People also, by nature, love to have men tell them what to do and use it for a cop out.

I understand what you mean. Sometimes the pastor of the church I used to go to took verses out of context. He would say that it was basically a "sin" to wear jewelry or get your hair dyed. Of course, I know that the Holy Spirit has led me to think otherwise. Sometimes people are to legalistic about things when the focus should be on God's character and His unconditional everlasting love. God bless.

Many human beings in general find it easy to let others tell them what to think. eg fashion

People in pulpits can be in error or deliberately seeking to deceive.

We need to be Bereans.

Women can teach women. Sometimes the men just will not step up.

although Scriptures say "let the elders be the husband of one wife", Scriptures indicate that poligamy was common back then, so the apostles made the condition for pastors. also, in the list of qualifications include that no pastor should not be "fond of sordid gain"; that rules out all health and wealth preachers.

Paul says, "in Christ, there is neither male nor female"

is it possible for a nonchristian to do miracles in the power and Name of Christ?

yes, it is possible; Christ says, "in the judgment day, many will say, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophecy in Your Name, do many mighty miiracles in your Name, and cast out many demons in Your Name?' and I will tell them, 'I NEVER knew you'"

Sure, there is definitely power in the name of Jesus.

Matthew 7
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

They are clearly not Christians - they are relying on their good works to get them into heaven and not Jesus.

I belieive we are led by the Holy Spirit. That can be in word, another person, or in praise. The Holy Spirit works through all things.

The Spirit's leading is most often through inspired preachers/teachers. Then again not every pastor or preacher is inspired.

Yes the Holy Spirit leads us and yes we have to be very careful of what we take in. My Pastor says some things that are very wrong and I have to pray for God to teach him right. Lots of people in the churches worship the Pastors. People are people and they can be taught wrong. We have to check our bibles and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. As for the baby Jesus it's only been a few years that people starting talking about Jesus was 2 years old when the wise men came and seen him. Lots people haven't even heard that yet. Plus they say it doesn't say anything about 3 wise men.

Human beings in general, and many christians show an inclination to let others do the thinking for them. This is deadly.

If one has absolute faith in Our Lord God, Jesus Our Lord and his Holy Spirit as their guide, protector and all gifts of the Spirit. One can know the confidence in all the promises of God Our Father. Jesus said, I am the good shepard, I know my sheep and they know me. God Our Father will keep all of us in him. He will glorify himself in all that we are and do. he will not let us be lost. Even if we fail, Our Lord God will make all things good to his glory.
He sent his Holy Spirit to be our guide, our protector, our courage and knowladge. Faith in this is glory to God.

One thing we must remember is that the Holy Spirit is not going to contredict the Bible.

A lot of people go to church and hear the , "Health, Wealth, and Prosperity" gospel and never read the Bible for themselves.

I agree. I believe that is why scripture says to test all spirits . I believe we should also be sure that all we hear we should be sure it is based in scripture.
Does one use the scripture to glorify God or to promote their own self beliefs

The health and wealth gospel is a good example of what happens when one thinks to be led by the Spirit is to follow every emotion and unction they feel is right, rather than check what they hear with objective facts such as what is written in scripture or from more knowledgeable pastors , theologians, historians etc that can help interpret that passage of scripture properly. Every sect of christianity and even non-christians says their belief is "in the bible", and many say that "the Holy Spirit told me" so it must be right, but at the end of the day there can only be one correct interpretation.

who is to say they actually did these miracles though because Jesus says no man can serve 2 masters and when He was accused of being of the devil for casting out demons by the pharisees Jesus said no kingdom can divide against itself lest it cannot stand,so what is the conclusion of these so called healers ,it was fake because a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.
