Sorry, I did not recognize, that I am Intimidate Somebody with the Word of God.
I recall it being a sword of some kind. Swords can be intimidating.

Found that out the hard way in my evangelizing days.

So if it's in the bible now, but wasn't in most of the early Greek manuscripts, nor in Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus, then it's the word of GOD. That's not the way I look at it.

Which of these is the word of GOD? Why?
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
Who am I that I decide what belong to the Word of God and what not. You can do this. The bible I am useing have it Inside. Also the Romans 8 Text you mentioned. And all Texts which we uses in this thread you Can find in the Bible. If not, then Please show me.
I once preached in our Church about the role of a Woman in the Church. I dont know how many Woman would like to kill me with their Eyes.
The timespirit says that the bible and the values which we find Inside is from yesterday for People from yesterday. I believe this not. The People since the Time of Paul did not changed in their behaviours and also the values of the Word of God doesnt changed. Sorry for my bad english.

To be honest I'm fed up with it. God revealed himself to me without ranking me in a 2nd class role. Only [some] men have tried to stuff me into a box. You patriarchs can have your stifling churches, I won't be attending them. Αντιο σας
Who put you in a Second Class role? Would you also Talk in this Way if you were Aarons Wife while he was priest? Only the male of the priestfamilie was allowed to eat the Meat from the Sacrifices.
Really I can not understand that you feel 2nd Class.

the word decon = servant that all. many miss some very important truths about the servant, deacon, minster and it is in the word of God .

Please look at 1 Tim 3: 11

"Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

Notice the instuction that is given to the wife? why ? she is to be silent and will not been seen why does the standard of a minster apply to her?

read on 1tim 3:12

"Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well."
the house of the servant must have integerity also the wife too.

Verse 13
For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Who is the they? The Deacons . which are known as "
diakoneō" which covers what?

well lets lookat the meaning shall we :

"to be a servant, attendant, domestic, to serve, wait upon

  1. to minister to one, render ministering offices to
    1. to be served, ministered unto
  2. to wait at a table and offer food and drink to the guests,
    1. of women preparing food
  3. to minister i.e. supply food and necessities of life
    1. to relieve one's necessities (e.g. by collecting alms), to provide take care of, distribute, the things necessary to sustain life
    2. to take care of the poor and the sick, who administer the office of a deacon
    3. in Christian churches to serve as deacons
  4. to minister

    what about Titus 2?

    2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
same standard as the man wow found in 1tim 3

how are they to teach ?

titus 2:4 That they(women) may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Now here is were maturity is needed in this ministering of women. Only men get into trouble historically, statically, and morally more than women.

This is why it is good to have women in the church beside their husband to serve the people during the service. WHY? Because many of the men cannot keep their hands off the women. And the wife protects the office of the Husband. BUT NOPE! You so-called bible theologians want-2-be’s think they are not to be minsters. Wrong! The bible is clear to what they can do. This is why many Husbands, deacons, and pastors, fail morally. Because they do not use the gift God gave them to keep them out of trouble. This is why MEN have sexual issues, Men who are called pastors have been divorced, and men who have been accused of sexual abuse. Nothing is more powerful then a husband and wife team AS God Ordained to be in ministries For both men and women of the Church.
so if I understand you correctly. The woman is not allowed to be a deacon or speak in the church because she needs to stand by her man so the man is not tempted?

That sounds pretty awful and I am sure many women are offended by your comments. (Unless I misunderstood you) Men who are in leadership should be following god, if they are following God they should not be tempted. If they are tempted. then the have more issues than the fact that he does not have a wife which is supporting of him.

One of my pastors in my youth (I was probably in my teens by then) Had a wife who loved him and served the church in many ways, Even his kids helped. His had deacons who loved the lord. Even their wives helped many times (I remember the wives were very active in youth ministry, I was very close to all of them) then one day the pastor and one of the deacons disappeared. They left their spouses and ended up running away together. Our churhc was so affected by this we had to change our name.

Now was it because the wife was not loving or serving him (No)
do we blame the deacons wife who left the deacon who was serving God in mighty ways?
the fact is, both the pastor and the woman who left was to blame. The woman was half the age of the pastor. But that is no excuse, are you going to say it was the woman fault?

sometimes you scare me my friend.

the deacon would be better served to have a wife
it is not a requirement. And a deacon can do wonders without a wife. I see it all the time.

Do you understand why the Lord did this? Given it was supposed to be the High Priests (who were supposed to be closest to GOD) who interceded for the people

Amen, He through people who were taking advantage of the poor out. The priest were letting them do it (they were even benefiting from it, and probably instituted it) this does nto prove what he thinks it said.. I missed this some how. nice catch.

We have some pastors which need to be thrown out of churches because of their evil too. this does not mean we do not let sinners in our churches. That is what church is for. to make disciples of all nations. It is our primary mission. if we do not act on our primary mission, how can we expect god to bless us in our secondary missions?

In many cases yes, though perhaps not in all. I think it depends on the individual. A bit like the "better to marry that to burn with lust" teaching. If you can serve better single, good then you don't have a family to be concerned for and can devote all of your time to The Lord. But it's better to marry than to burn with lust and as you have pointed out, your spouse can be beneficial in ministry.

I'm not trying to oppose or contradict what you are saying about this. I think you have raised some good points. Just discussing, I hope that's ok.
Paul was single.. I think he is a great example of an elder who is single.

If all you did was quote Scripture continually, it would be no problem. However, that is not what you are doing. You go beyond to give your own commentary based on your rather wacky interpretational methods, and you harangue people who disagree with you.

"Those living comfortably in their own worldly opinion" don't come to this forum much. Perhaps you would feel more fulfilled to go to where they are and preach to them.
please don't tempt him, we have enough people posting scripture with no commentary. Even though everyone knows what they believe. and when you try to discuss with them, their excuse is we are arguing with scripture.

It is not scripture we are apposed to It is the INTERPRETATION of said scripture.

I don't doubt an administrator wrote that, because you HAVE been resorting to personal attacks. Why can we not stay on subject and speak only of ideas instead of calling others names ?
please take your own advice, You have done some of this yourself. If it not in good taste to judge others for doing the very thing you do yourself. it looks bad.

You used the phrase, "little lady" in response to one of our female contributors. It is demeaning and offensive to females in general. Your opinion of it is irrelevant. The tone of your contributions is that women are second-class citizens in the church, despite your denials.

Amen, a persons hypocrisy is easy seen. Except to the person himself. that's sad, we all need to take a look inside and judge ourselves. (remove the logs) before we try to remove the specs from others eyes.

But did he say his instructions were limited to Corinth ONLY ? That is the question. You cannot show me a verse limiting his instructions to any certain church or any group of churches. He simply said "women are to be silent in the churches". That is plural form and encompasses all churches unless stated otherwise and it is not stated otherwise anywhere. And I did not place any words into your mouth in the remarks you are referencing. I simply added to your words.
Nope. I NEVER said that at all. I identified his letter of instruction as the letter to the church in Corinth

BUT I NEVER said or implied his teaching and instruction were limited to that church only

as we all know there is truly only ONE BODY/CHURCH

and that BODY consists of many members.

Women also!

Would someone (like Angela) provide the Greek translation of the scriptures which state.

CHRIST ascended and led captivity in HIS TRAIN and gave gifts to men

I’d be curious about whether that meant men only

They have changed that word to quietness in a lot of bibles. Quietness is not silence. Quietness is being still to learn in submission to the whole congregation and not speaking out of turn, as all people, male and female, were/are supposed to do.

Nehemiah6 and wolfwint posted these BIBLE translations earlier. Every single one of them either has the word "silent" or "silence" in them. Not a single one of them uses the word "quietness". So to say they have now changed the word in a lot of Bibles to quietness is either having no idea of what one is talking about OR they are intentionally lying.

New International Version
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

New Living Translation
Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says.

English Standard Version
the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.

New American Standard Bible
The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.

King James Bible
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
the women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says.

International Standard Version
the women must keep silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak out, but must place themselves in submission, as the oral law also says.

NET Bible
the women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak. Rather, let them be in submission, as in fact the law says.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
Let your women be silent in the assemblies, for they are not allowed to speak, but to be in subjection, just as The Written Law also says.

GOD'S WORD® Translation
the women must keep silent. They don't have the right to speak. They must take their place as Moses' Teachings say.

Jubilee Bible 2000
Let your women keep silence in the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}, for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be in subjection, as also saith the law.

King James 2000 Bible
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be submissive, as also says the law.

American King James Version
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted to them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also said the law.

American Standard Version
let the women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also saith the law.

Douay-Rheims Bible
Let women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be subject, as also the law saith.

Darby Bible Translation
Let [your] women be silent in the assemblies, for it is not permitted to them to speak; but to be in subjection, as the law also says.

English Revised Version
Let the women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also saith the law.

Webster's Bible Translation
Let your women keep silence in the churches; for it is not permitted to them to speak: but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

Weymouth New Testament
Let married women be silent in the Churches, for they are not permitted to speak. They must be content with a subordinate place, as the Law also says;

World English Bible
let your wives keep silent in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as the law also says.

Young's Literal Translation
Your women in the assemblies let them be silent, for it hath not been permitted to them to speak, but to be subject, as also the law saith;

sometimes you scare me my friend.
The only reason why you are scared is because you have a bad habit of reading into what one is saying.

1. never said woman is not allowed to be a deacon
2. never said a women is not allowed speak in the church because she needs to stand by her man so the man is not tempted?
3. The word of God tells us those who have issues to marry does it not ? 1cor 7:9

The point I'm making is Yes a women can be a deacon, minster, evangelist, and leader. The word Deacon = servant I think you missed that.
"the word deacon = servant that all. many miss some very important truths about the servant, deacon, minster and it is in the word of God ."

Can a women be a servant of God? Yes. can a women be a deacon yes she can. That being said a husband and wife team in the service does help prevent foolishness. I'm minster I have a wife of 27 years, One wife. Unlike many who are on wife two and three. I don't go and visit a married women home without the husband being there that is called respect. OR my wife is with me. There is more than just trusting a person it is called "to void the very appearance of evil" 1thess 5:22 . I have staff many of them women my wife can come to my office anytime and so can thier husbands , we do not take lunches together without my wife.

Your exmple of the running away deacons is missing soe very important facts.

were either of them married ? If they were why was he working so close to another women that was not his wife? And why would i say it is the womans Fault?

"Men who are in leadership should be following god, if they are following God they should not be tempted. "

Your point here is not biblical sir, No one followed God more than Jesus and guess what HE was tempted.

All men will be tempted. The Bible show us we will be tempted the two reason why 1. God is testing you 2. your lust has control over you. many men followed God and were tempted. Joseph is one that comes to mind. David is another.

Maturity is neded. and it is lacking with many.
