John 15:2 KJB
"Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that
beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit."

Luke 8:14 KJB
"And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth,
and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection."

Matthew 7:17 KJB
"Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit."

Bearing good fruit means continual growth in faith, purity and good works wrought by God in you
through obedience unto His commandment's and precept's taught in the Holy Bible.

Good fruit is goodness.

That same goodness is the salt spoken of in Matthew chapter 5 verse 13.
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be
salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

When we are new to the faith we are very much still in the world, through the purification
of the Holy Spirit and guidance of scripture we must be "weaned" so to speak from the things of
the world. We must set our minds on doing God's will and not our own.

1 John 2:15-17
"15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Some examples/suggestions of bearing good fruit:
alms giving, growing in understanding of scripture, growing in faith/confidence in God
because you are growing closer to Him by doing His will more and more,
doing things less to please yourself and more to please others, reading the word of God more,
purifying yourself by strict obedience unto God, preaching the gospel and truth of this world,
exhorting your brothers and sisters (in lowliness and not confrontational or contentious) to further
good works and understanding of the word and will of God, giving to those who ask

We should all be trying to please God in all that we do, every day.

So I ask you all, are you living for God and His will, bearing good fruit for Him, or are you living for the yourself?

Matthew 7:13-14 KJB
"13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to
destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few
there be that find it."

Matthew 25:30 KJB

"And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Some examples/suggestions of bearing good fruit:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
(Galatians 5:22-23)

add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-2,7
[1] Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. [2] For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. [7] For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

It depends on your starting point. The tares pass for Christians and mimick all they do. Is this good fruit? If so, why. If not, why not? Answer this and you will know what makes fruit good.

God's Spirit brings the fruit out. Many false-religionists live on the surface good righteous lives but the truth is not in them. Man centered faith will produce dead religion, God centered faith will produce living fruit.

Amen Amen

All works must be produced and birth by the Holy Spirit or it is dead works. The "Golden Bell and the Pomegranate" must bounce against each other or it is tingling cymbal and sounding brass. The Golden Bell = The Gift of the Spirit, and the Pomegranate = The Fruit of the Spirit (Exodus 28:34). We need both to be in operation.

Faith placed exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus, will always produce proper works by the Holy Spirit. This is the only Faith God will recognize. Anything and everything that is not of the Spirit is "dead faith." Lifeless Faith is profitless (rotten fruit). James 2:14-18

Every Word God has ever spoken is “In Righteousness” (Proverbs 8:8), and His Righteousness is only revealed in the gospel to those who will believe it from faith to faith (Romans 1:16-17, Galatians 2:21). This is how the child of God experiences the very Life of Christ (Romans 1:17).

Proverbs 8:7-8 says, that every Word that God has ever spoken is in "Truth and in Righteousness." According to the gospel that Paul preached, "Righteousness and through His Righteousness we have obtained like precious faith (2 Peter 1:1). This is the same faith that comes by hearing God’s Word (Romans 10:17). Righteousness is only awarded by God if our Faith is placed and maintained exclusively in Christ Jesus and the Finished Work of the Lamb of God at Calvary Cross (Rom. 4:5). Therefore, no man or woman can see, hear, or understand if "Righteousness is not awarded and will be operating from a make believe and pretend salvation that Jesus says that they may have a name, but they are dead (Rev. 3:1). Everything they have and everything in their life will become a hinderance to them because of the "Law of sin and death." Confusion - conflict and death.

According to Ephesians 5:9, the "Fruits of the Spirit" are located in three areas; goodness, Righteousness, and Truth.

Thank you for this teaching of the golden bell and the pomegranate. I believe it, though many will think any who do have gone off somewhere other than reality. Of course when reality is based on faith, who could possibly care. God bless you for your sharing.

Here, from Proverbs is a teaching that always gives a thrill to those who have yet not read it, and to me every time I read it.
KJ21
Who hath ascended up into heaven or hath descended? Who hath gathered the wind in His fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if thou canst tell?

The problem is you cant have faith if you dont do the works. The works are not our own but works of obedience unto God's will. Even believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is an act of obedience unto God's commandments (His will).

We must endure unto the end (in obedience).

Matthew 7:13-14 KJB
"13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Thank you for pointing to some of the seeds He uses to help bring good fruit forth. I am amazed at how the root of Him brings blessings that keep on giving. He is so good to us, allowing us to partake in the goodness of His fruit given.

I think this is a good think to ask ourselves, there is great wisdom in searching our hearts everyday however I also think sometimes we are not the best judges to say whether or not we are or how much. It is easy to mistake doing God's will with our own and it also is easy to be to condemning of ourselves.
I think it is best in most cases to let others and God say whether we are and how much.
After all if a tree bears fruit it doesn't see the abundance of it but those who marvel at the tree do.

The journey is long and winding, its not a straight path. Something to remember, the enemy will keep attacking, you will get off on another road, and sometimes it takes a lot of strength to turn around and go back. All part of the process. Always remembering that Jesus is there in the north waiting for you.

You are teaching contrary to sound doctrine.
Jesus tells us that straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leadeth unto life and few be there that find it.
The way is through obedience unto God, not going astray sinning, but keeping His commandments and enduring unto the end.
Few find it because people get off on other roads (doing their own will) as you put it and don't endure unto the end in strict obedience unto God and the commandments and precepts He has told us we must keep to be counted worthy.
If you go sinning willfully (going astray/rebelling against God's will) after being forgiven and coming to the knowledge of the truth, there is a few verses aimed at you.

Hebrews 10:26-31 KJB
"26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
