:) I believe the Bible is 100% true
I believe I am saved by grace working through faith in Jesus Christ
lets agree on the simple stuff, and understand that there may be division when understanding the hermeneutics behind more complicated parts of the Bible. But let us have ground to agree upon so that we can stand a hug each other, as well as pull each other up

Yes, I agree we as Christians should have love and respect for each other even though we might not see eye to eye on everything. God knows his children and he knows our hearts. He loves each and every one of us and wants us to love each other.

Did you mean the kind of church seen a few verses later that rebuked the lord of glory according to the Mo of antichrists as those who deny Christ, as the things of men, seen, that offend those of God, not seen ?

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the "things that be of God", but those that be of men. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.Mat 16:21-23

It won't be my first choice .

I'm a part of Jesus' church...I don't subscribe to the RCC definition of that, though.

[16] Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. [18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. [20] Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.
Jesus said that Peter was blessed, because he acknowledged that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God,that flesh and blood did not reveal that to him,but the heavenly Father.

Which the Bible says no person comes to the Son except the Father draw them.

And no person by the Holy Spirit calls Jesus accursed, and no person says Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

So it is all God that causes a person to be able to claim Jesus as Lord and Savior, which if you properly do that you will be part of the kingdom of God,which the gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church, cannot take it down, cannot dismantle it,cannot disperse it,cannot cause it to fall away, for God will have His elect despite the deception that goes on,even in terrible deception as at the beast kingdom when the false prophet does miracles to deceive them which dwell upon the earth, which God said the elect cannot be deceived.

The Bible also says that those that name the name of Christ, depart from iniquity, which in Matthew chapter 7 people that claimed Jesus as Lord could not dwell with Him complained that they labored for the kingdom of God,so why could they not be with Jesus, and Jesus said because they were workers of iniquity, which the Bible says they have a form of godliness;but deny the power thereof, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, which they never came to the truth that they have to act like Christ led by the Spirit, but thought they were right with God despite sin in their life.

The gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church, and hypocrites do not belong to Jesus and the Church.

As far as Peter being the rock, some people say Jesus is referring to Himself, and some say it is Peter.

Either way Jesus is still the chief cornerstone, and no other foundation can be laid but Jesus Christ,so the man Christ Jesus is still the first human as part of the Church, whether it means Jesus or Peter.

But I tend to believe it was Peter, for the keys to the kingdom were given to Him,and the man Christ Jesus is the first human as added to the Church, the head of the Church,is a given, with no doubt.

The Bible says that we are all built upon another as lively stones making up a spiritual building, that means the 120 people at Pentecost would be added, then those after are built upon them, and the ones added later are built upon them, and so forth,so everyone after you added to the kingdom is built upon you.

Peter was not the first Pope, for there is no Pope in the Bible that is the head of all the Churches, for only Jesus is the head of all the Churches.

I believe that Jesus was calling Peter the rock that He would build His Church upon, which means that Peter was the first person added to the Church after the man Christ Jesus,so the man Christ Jesus,Lord and Savior,is the first human added to the Church, the chief foundation, which no other foundation can be laid but Jesus, and Peter was built upon the man Christ Jesus,Peter being the first human apart from the man Christ Jesus, and Jesus would build His Church starting with Peter, who was given the keys to the kingdom, which Jesus pointed out Peter and said, when you are converted strengthen your brothers, and feed my sheep.

But either way whether is is Jesus or Peter,Jesus is the chief foundation, and no other foundation can be laid but Jesus, and the man Christ Jesus is the first human to be a part of the Church, the head of the Church.

But I tend to believe that Jesus referred to Peter as the rock, with a small letter r,as the first human to be a part of the Church, built upon the man Christ Jesus, and Peter is not the first Pope, for Jesus is the had of the Church.

We may know what and where the Church is in unity in (Matthew 18:20)

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

To make it more clear, I'm part of the church as described in Ephesians 1:

22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Are you asking us if we are Catholics?

Do you believe Jesus was speaking of Peter when He said who He would build His Church on?

Do you believe Peter was the first Pope, or some such?

If Yes............then, No, I am not in unity with that church........for it is not the Church Jesus Christ established.

(my thoughts, someone else may have said the same, dunno)
