Which is better and what do we usually pray for?

As far as money or material things go we have to be blessed before we can bless someone else with what we have. If we don't have plenty then we can't help the poor much. We are to be a blessing so bless me to over flow Lord.

I think to be a blessing. We usually pray to be blessed, but we should pray to be a blessing because the world doesn't revolve around us. :)

I think its both and no one is better than the other.

you can't be a blessing without having some blessing yourself...
...and by blessing others you most likely will receive blessing...
and so it goes

Actually it is better to give than to receive.

Being blessed with faith is the greatest blessing there is and that is all you need to bless people with, a kind word, a prayer, a miracle, all these can be better than money.

I like recieveing from Christ. I dont think that He keeps a tally about how many times we ask for blessings for ourselves, partly because He isn't petty and He loves us very much. If He doesn't see fit to give it to us He wont, but I will always ask the best for me from God.

That's true but we are already blessed. A blessing isn't just money jeez. Actually time and patience can be a much harder blessing to give to others than money anyway.

and not too sure here, if you know this but Jeez is a sub, for Jesus and to use it in the sense you do, is not right. it's like taking/using is name in vain

I did not know that, where does jeez louise come from then? (might have spelled that wrong)

I'm sorry I thought/implied you meant money, I've seen to many TV preachers I think...

Ahh see I dont agree with that. Ever heard of God using a broke starving widow to bless Elijah. You dont need lots of money or material wealth before you can bless the poor etc The only thing we need to bless others is our time and love - the rest comes from God
