Faelynn, it has been so nice to meet you! I look forward to hearing what you think after you read all that Jesus did and said. Mathew through John is where you will find that. Stick to the New Testament at first. I'll definitely check back to hear what you have to say and what you think. I'm dying of curiosity actually, to hear! :)
Thank u. You have a great rest of ur weekend.

Just crazy when you don't know where to start. I want to go in different countries and help people. I want to meet the people that have the same beliefs as me. It is hard because around here.....there is VERY few. I keep to myself a lot because I feel the good things I have left, I don't want to lose. Then again I question when I am going to meet or even find a place where I am accepted or even believes in God the way I do. It's hard.
Ah, where do you live?

I know He is wanting me to make the first move, by myself. when I did I was shot down by a small congregation bc they thought I came there for my grandmother. When really I came there because I thought it would be a good church for me. I was judged and felt horrible for even trying.
Oh boy, wait until you read about the religious people in the gospels (Mathew through John)! The religious people are the ones who rejected and had Him killed! Doesn't seem to make sense does it? Some people who claim to believe in Him act nothing like Him! I'm sorry that happened to you. Jesus had very harsh words for religious people and was very loving with sinners!!

Hi Faelynn,

Peter preached a sermon and many in the crowd were touched by the Lord and asked what they must do to be saved. Here's what Peter said.

~~~~~~~
Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?”
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!”
So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
~~~~~~~
At some point you'll need to get baptized out of obedience to the Lord. When you do, it's symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

When we're born of the Spirit, we're dying to ourselves our old way of living as if we died on the cross with Jesus and when we go down into the water when we're baptized we're identifying with Jesus' burial as if we were buried with him and then when we come up out of the water we're identifying with the resurrection of Jesus when He came out of the tomb and was raised to new life.

That's what happens to us in the new birth........when the Holy Spirit comes in us to stay, we've been raised to new life in the Lord. It's a beautiful picture of what Jesus has done for us.

Maybe you can try a different church. All churches are different. Are there others you could visit to see how they are?

Well faelynn, right here is the place God put you to start. And it's admirable to want to help people but you first have to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by letting Him come into your heart. All you have to do is ask Him. Here is what He said at Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, (i.e your heart) I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me."

God already knows your heart so all you have to do is invite Him in. And don't worry about baptism or other things, just commit your life to Him and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5,6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, vs6, In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path." He will even help you find a sound and Biblical church. You have to take first things first. :eek:

I've not been able to find a church either. I gave up and just said to Him that I trusted Him to teach me as He promised He would and told Him that if He wanted me to go to a church, I knew He would lead me there.

Oh! Well then, I'm even MORE interested now to hear what you have to say after you read the Gospels! :)

I went looking for that verse from the gospel and found it for you Faelynn!
It's in John. I don't have it memorized or anything so I'll just tell you what it says in my own words.

It says (this is Jesus speaking) I won't leave you as orphans. (after His death) but I will ask the Father and He will send you a Helper (the Holy Spirit) and He will tell you all things and teach you and remind you about all I have said.

And somewhere else it says, The Spirit will guide you to all truth and will teach you and you will have no need for any man to teach you because HE will teach you.

(I don't memorize well, so those are in my own words and understanding, but it's pretty easy to look the verses up online. There's a place called Biblehub that I sometimes go to to find verses. Like if I want to read all the verses that have the word sorrow in them, I can just type in "sorrow."

And aaaww, I found a verse that reminds me of you right now Faelynn. Psalm 25:16. It reminded me of you because you seem lonely and weary of the world and its coldness.

Come to Me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.
That one reminded me of you too.
That's in the gospel too. :)

Actually faelynn, only one time is necessary but I do understand what your saying. When I became a Christian some almost 55 years ago the very first verses give to me where 1 John 5:11-13, "And this is the record, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in the Son. vs12, He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

Since you ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart, all you have to do is simply believe that He has come in to your heart. In other words, what qualified me for having eternal life is the fact that I took God at His word. God said it, I believe it and that settles it. Now, notice the next vs13. "These things I have written to you who believe in the that name of the Son of God, IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE."

The reason that the Apostle John is writing these verses (especially vs13) is that you can "KNOW" you have eternal life based on Gods word. God does not lie. Also notice what the following verses say/teach. Your concerned about a church and of course other things. Look at vs14, "And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will He will hear us. Vs15, And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we knos that we have the requests which we have asked from Him." Notice how many times that word "KNOW" is used.

Does that make sense to you faelynn? Get to know Him by reading and praying to Him. Prayer is simply talking to God and God talks to us through His word the Bible. Finally, you know how I know God answers my prayers whatever the prayers may be? It's when the "reality" of the prayer proves God is right. Think about it. So start studying your Bible at the gospel of John and then continue from there. :eek:

I couldn't live without Him. I try to pray every day and live my life like He wants us to. It's hard when a large amount of ppl u know are total opposites tho. Not blaming them, just saying it's difficult. As far as who He is.....that is a good question.
If you can't live without Him, you pray every day and strive to live your life in step with Jesus, you already have what is most precious.
