Hahaha fair enough, little about me I don't have to prove a thing to no man or woman nor care what you or any person thinks I am or am not for I know who I am.

good day.
Then we should really get along, because I'm like that too.

On the other hand, really don't like being lied about. Disagreed with? Not so much a problem. Being lied about is the part where I get annoyed.

From what I can see, keeping (guarding) souls IS shepherding.

And it's not the burden it at first sounds like. We learn from Ezekiel that basically it means the prophet/watchman teaches the truth to those he is sent to. Whether they listen or not, the watchman teaches the truth and the responsibility for the fate of those he is sent to is then in their hands.
Fate? You're going to have a hard time convincing me of fate. I believe the Lord is sovereign, so nothing is left to chance.

One person makes it there, the other does not- which one loved God? You don't know me or how much I love God. If I'm at heavens gates, and I'm given a choice of one of two eternal rooms... One has every pleasure you could fathom, and the other is a boring room with just God in it, I choose to be in the boring room. God is my soul's home. The attitude you're talking about ( which I do not have ) is self-centered.
Not as much as you think. After all you're the one putting God in the "boring room," and thinking your something because you'd take sacrifice of being bored.

How could one room have "ever pleasure I could fathom" yet not have God?

What would have our hearts rejoice more than being in the presence of our Heavenly father?

Exactly! And how can God be in a room and then call it "the boring room?" That would be the way-cool room! lol

Anyone can say "God gives me authority to teach" some may be right others not so.

My personal opinion is the question lacks any clarifying power. To know if someone teaches by Gods authority is to check their word with the word of God. If they match up then great if they don't then reject.

There is no quick question that reveals the answer to your question.

Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

In my experience this is the only way to know by who's authority one speaks.

Many genuine people who are open still do not teach by God's authority.

Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.

Lots of people have been blind to what they do, speaking on teaching I know someone who you tryed to teach about Romans and the Calvinist stuff, that's just one example I am not lying you just don't see it or the truth hurts and you don't like it, o well tuff your not a total learning all the time you try and show people other meanings to a verse or what ever that's teaching rather you think it is or not, there's nothing wrong with teaching just don't be the pot calling the kittle black and say things like this thread is about. I think your motive was to call them out when they say by what authority they teach you flat dogged out one poster after he said by what authority, sorry proofs in the words you choose. sorry i can see right through the Bologna.

True. And a thread with this question would not have been started by someone willing to learn from others.
I agree I don't think it would have either,

like that old saying a person can fool people some of the time but not all the time.
