if we do not care what others think of us we might not win them over because they will not see Christ in us and will disbelieve our message.

but we are called to be fishers of men. in order to be good fishers we should care that we at least try to show the Love of God in our actions and speech.
I appreciate what you share but there also comes a time to shake off the dust.

When I first came to cc all I knew was
Baptist believed OSAS,didn't matter the sin,
Church of Christ ,no music and a lack of assurance of salvation until death,
Church of God believed in the Pentecost promise and all the gifts of the Spirit,
RC believed it was all about how none of them were good enough to make direct contact with God,and their heirachy of power.
Then the outright lunacy of Mormonism, JW, Islam and cults.

What I see coming from the minds of many is ever gaining and Never coming to the knowledge of truth.

If any man lack...whatever we need to be more like Christ ....let them ask of God.

I'm really sorry if this comes across harsh, but whose disciples are we?

:claps aggressively:

You about summed it up. This is exactly why I am a non denominational. Eastern Orthodox, same as Catholic just more zealous. Also baptists in my experience, can't get saved without dunking into water (just like the Bible teaches us Jesus dunked the thief on the cross). SDA, endless contentions about the Sabbath (in spite of the Bible explicitly saying not to fight other believers about esteeming days - I mean how much more plainly does it need to be told for us to obey?) Then - not sure what's the group guess I should start asking to get a better picture - every year around Christmas and Easter it's the same people going on about how Christmas trees and Easter chocolates are evil. Priorities!

It's like every denomination decides to focus on certain things, and it's never Jesus, and the Word of God is never taught in a balanced way, there's always weights gravitating towards either legalism or laxity, or towards certain teachings that are central and more important than others to the denomination. Rightfully dividing?

I am with ya bro. That why I have no problem sharing what I see with you. You don’t feel attacked by you believe it words, and you do not attack back. Your a true brother in Christ
Wish others would learn how to be this way

So,if you attack back.....that makes you,not a true brother/sister in Christ?

I don’t believe that......we all have our moments......even the member you are referring to...as being a “true brother “ in Christ.

It also takes time for the Lord to show us and help us change......we rely on him not ourselves.....first he shows us the anger and recognising it....because it’s not of God.....it’s of the flesh.

But there is a righteous anger.

before you respond you should think. It is obvious you did not understand a word I said. I hope you spoke with grandpa some he is the one I told you you should seek. He is more trustworthy and does
Not attack everyone who disagrees with him or try to bully them
if he has left I am gone again. Nothing in here to discuss. Will just let the slinging continue for both sides

You see..how you can be misinterpreted on a forum?

I meant no offence to your post to Grandpa.....

Just trying to understand EG....

Can you explain a bit more on what you mean?

Sorry if I came across as aggressive in my last post....

Guide me through what you mean in simple terms please.....cause I’m thick.

Funny, I see slinging pretty much from one side.

The other thing, some have thousands of pages of posts and replies in the not by works debacle to take a look at concerning poor behavior, belittling, attacks, all that nonsense. No need to point about how "sad" it is in here the last "20" pages, the other thread shows the whole story.

And here is the fact of the matter: This thread was doing well when a few of us were discussing things a week or so ago, then several from the not by works came in to this thread since there was no "action" in the other, and as per status quo, in came the name calling and the rest of it.

That is what is sad, thousands of pages, and hundreds of thousands of comments of this is seen, especially elsewhere in their thread, then it was brought into this one. Now they're decrying it when it is status quo for them in other threads, especially the not by works thread?

1. I consider calvinists my brothers (well except for a few) So the thought I think only grandpa is my brother is wrong, and even though we disagreed we did
Not consider our disagreements as attacks. Just another persons view. You said attack back. Some attack even though no one attacked them. That’s not attacking back so not sure where that came from
2. I respect grandpa. We disagree. We just share what we see ask questions and come to An agreement That we are close to each other and in the end we will share fellowship in heaven and that’s all that matters
3 unlike some who when someone disagrees they feel the need to attack, belittle, tear down and feel they must defend themselves at all cost. Which removes discussion. Does not show the love of Christ and to outsiders makes it look like God’s people can not get along
4 yes we can get heated at times. I have been heated. Even grandpa has. But in the end we do not take it personally and move on. (Ie we do not hold grudges as some do).

I agree and it hurts to say it , and because of this very reason , I have chose to sit back and keep my findings to myself because I cannot bear being jumped on , it quenches my spirit...

I would love to carry on asking questions , but again I will be falsely accused that I am being led astray , following a cult etc , which none of these things are true , I follow my Lord and Savior , saved by His grace , not by any work , and being led by His Holy Spirit to search the Scriptures for the gems buried deep inside...

May God open all our eyes to what is acceptable to Him ...

I'm also going to address the bullying accusation that keeps getting tossed about.

When several in a certain group antagonize and go after an individual, post after post, I'm pretty certain that defines it.

This has happened to @jackrosie in this thread and in others. Of course it has happened to me as well, but when it happens to a person who has announced her frailty to an extent, that is even worse to treat a sister in Christ that way. I can handle the thing for myself, but she doesn't need this at all.

Another thing that defines bullying is when a person is called out publicly simply because she "liked" or agreed with a persons post several are assaulting.

Seriously? That happened? Of course it happened.

It is like telling the person, "Hey, I don't like that person, we are attacking him, how dare you agree with him! Be on our side!" and doesn't even care to assess if what the person said may be true. That very behavior defines it as well, and it is also know biblically as causing division and sowing discord among the brothers, something God detests.

All I know is He is watching the several who relentlessly go after our perhaps weaker sister growing in the faith.

I agree with your post.

But this woman ain’t frail,,trust me...I may be slow at learning, but my faith is rock solid...the Lord watches over me and I put my trust in him.....not members on this forum...

We all wind each other up at times...that has been my observation..some much more subtle than others..

I am not a victim,preacher..I know you mean well....I have been just as bad at times..the same as everyone else.

Hi brother...
I believe I have been here 2 years roughly , and I looked forward to posting and reading , joining in and laughing , now I see so much conflict in certain threads that it ruins it for many...

God showed me my own behavior when I started to take these bad ways on myself , I found myself joining in without even questioning , not realizing how hurtful some remarks can be , I thank Him for showing me this way was not correct...

I have had a tad of this against myself , it hurts , only God knows what it feels like for those who have a sensitive spirit to such things , it is devastating...

If we could only come together and learn from each other , on why one sees something when the other does not , it would make discussing the bible so pleasant...

God is watching all our actions ...

Yep, this is the first Christian forum I came across where there are people who take themselves so seriously to ask other people why they like a post that he/she disagrees with. ;)

I once had a sensitive spirit.....but it should grow in the Lord..to not be so sensitive.

How else can we witness for the Lord if we don’t grow.
