We are told we can be forgiven for every sin but blasphemy, even for sins we don't know about.

The Sacrificial System was a shadow of Christ. In Leviticus 5:17-18 they were offered forgiveness for sins they weren't aware of committing. Christ gives us forgiveness in a more perfect way. In Psalm 19:12 "Who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults."

Scripture also states we are to repent. The Lord is aware that we cannot be perfect, we can only repent and give our will to be perfect to the Lord. Can we be forgiven if we will not repent?

Can we be forgiven if we do not will to be perfect, if we don't repent?

Well there is the initial giving of eternal life. With John 3:16 , and the likes of Romans 10.

In being given eternal life the person changes their heart and mind under conviction from the Holy Spirit and receives eternal life.

That's repentance at salvation.

After this.. their eternal state is set. Secure. All sin forgiven, including future sins.

Repentance after salvation is all about closer relationship to Jesus. Not that sins won't be forgiven. Otherwise that's no kind of relationship.

Christ died to pay for the sins of those that God gave him, and he said that he would not lose any of them. After Christ died for their sins, God looks upon them, in a covenant relationship, as holy and without blame, as far as their eternal inheritance is concerned. We do, however, still commit sins, because of our fleshly desires, and as regenerate people that have had our hearts exchanged in the new birth, can be pricked in our new heart to feel guilty when we sin. We lose our fellowship with God, not our eternal inheritance, until we repent. Even if we do not repent we still do not lose our eternal inheritance.

Thanks for responding. Those who say once a person repents it is enough do not have scripture plainly saying this is so, those who say the Lord wants us to be in a state of repentance have scripture that plainly says this is so.

That means that those with addictions are always asked to do all they can to rid themselves of it, that the Lord wants them to desire to have them gone, the Lord wants them to do all they can to get out from under them. This must also be true of people who carries an unforgiving grudge against a family member who is a Christian.

We know that the Lord is always ready to forgive, then we are only asked that we truly want to be rid of our sins.

Unless the person comes to the Truth that their Faith must be placed and maintained exclusively in Jesus Christ and Cross, and this is God’s prescribed order of victory over sin, the world, the flesh and, the Devil, NO REPENTANCE WIll BE GRANTED. 2 Timothy 2:24-26

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.
GOD IS TALKING ABOUT OVERCOMEING SIN AND A WORLD OF SIN IN THESE VERSES.
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 7 times in Revelation GOD tells US,He that overcometh,
And TO know that something is SIN, AND STILL DOING IT , IS NOT OVERCOMEING,
REPENT Dose NOT MEAN trying TO QUIT, IT MEANS WE HAVE QUIT DOING THOSE SINS THAT WE KNOW THAT IS SINS, AND RESIST Satan, AND NOT LET Satan CAUSE US TO DO IT AGAIN,
AND BELIEVE ME IF YOU ARE RESISTING Satan, AND overcoming SIN AND Satan,
Satan WILL do all HE can to cause US to SIN, THAT GOD WILL LET Satan DO, TO TRY US. AND if YOU don't think that GOD will LET Satan try you to see IF you will SIN,
THEN I TELL YOU NEED TO READ AND STUDY JOB, PRAISE GOD !!!
JOB 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: [when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
PSA 17:3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited [me] in the night; thou hast tried me, [and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed [that] my mouth shall not transgress.
PSA 66:10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
Daniel
12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Zachariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It [is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD [is] my God.
HEBREWS 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten [son].
James 1:12 Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: { THIS MEANS THAT HE WILL NOT SIN} for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. IF YOU ARE RESISTING Satan, Satan is going to make you Suffer All that HE CAN, AND GOD says that he will let Satan try US, TO see IF we WILL SIN, JUST LIKE JOB,

Jesus taught us how to pray. I suggest people read and understand that prayer. Your question is answered in that prayer. And, as we should be praying daily, if not several times a day, praying/asking forgiveness once seems to go against the prayer Jesus taught.

Only those that have been born again of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit will repent of breaking a spiritual law. The natural, unregenerate, man will not repent of breaking a spiritual law that he cannot discern, and thinks it to be foolishness.

Perish according to Greek = destroy, die, lose, mar. The only heart that can be pricked to feel guilty of breaking a spiritual law is the heart that has been changed to a fleshy heart in the new birth. After we have been regenerated, and commit a sin, it separates (death = separation) us from our fellowship with God, because God will not fellowship sin.

Heb 10:16-17, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Another example of not knowing genuine biblical salvation. Another shot at works based salvation by merit.

Those who are saved by grace understand that repentance of sin in the life of a believer after salvation is a part of sanctification. The abiding Holy Spirit takes care of the conviction necessary to maintain a proper relationship with Christ. If one does not have a genuine foundation laid in Christ repentance is useless.

For the cause of Christ

Christ died to pay for the sins of those that God gave him, and he said that he would not lose any of them. After Christ died for their sins, God looks upon them, in a covenant relationship, as holy and without blame, as far as their eternal inheritance is concerned. We do, however, still commit sins, because of our fleshly desires, and as regenerate people that have had our hearts exchanged in the new birth, can be pricked in our new heart to feel guilty when we sin. We lose our fellowship with God, not our eternal inheritance, until we repent. Even if we do not repent we still do not lose our eternal inheritance.
God the father enabled those to come to come to Jesus before the cross. Its then an assumption that the father is still giving people to the father after John 12.32 . Notice John 6 is before John 12 . This is strange bible reading from those that do not observe the phase lines and transition. Why do you choose John 6.44 as if that's how God always does things ?

If you have to repent of your sins to be saved or remain saved , why did Jesus have to go to the cross ,and die ,be buried and rise again on the third day according to the Scriptures?
