Ok here is the question. If a child is lost before conception, i.e. miscarriage, abortion, still birth. When we get to heaven will we know those children? will they know us? Or will we be unaware of the other? I know this could come across troubling for some but please know that my intention here is not malicious in any way, it was taught at my church in a previoius sermon, and just would like to hear from others as well on this.2Sa 12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Actually look at 2sa 12:13-23. But here the child has died and was just a baby. David says that he (david) shall go to him (the child). This seems to indicate to us that even if we have infants that perish that we will be rejoined in heaven with the child. Now does this hold true with abortions? I think it will hold true for miscarriages, and still births but not sure about the other. Thoughts?

If you are asking if children who are aborted go to heaven, I'd say most certainly they would go to heaven!

I don't know, the best we can do is entrust them to God's mercy.

If their soul is formed, I'm not sure when that occurs, I'd say it goes to God, they are raised and instructed by angels until they are fully matured souls, and in the resurrection they get complete human bodies as fully grown men or women.

It is the SPIRIT that goes to God. The SOUL is the mind, will and emotion all of which cease to exsist when the body dies (and besides...a soul cannot exist without a body for it is the body that carries or holds the soul. Your phrase "raised and instructed by angels until they are fully matured souls" is not Biblical at all. and in the resurrection they get complete human bodies as fully grown men or women.

Proof? As the life is in the blood, it can also be when blood starts flowing.

The soul sleep or soul death idea is a heresy. See http://www.carm.org/questions/other-questions/what-soul-sleep

The idea is based upon early writings. While not explicitly in the bible, it is a popular belief held by early christians as early writings testify. Nonetheless, the bible does teach angels have a ministering role and Jesus said that the children have angels in heaven, it is not so hard to comprehend that these same angels, would take care of , teach and nurture any child orphan who dies or infant or aborted baby unto maturity. It has been thought that the death of an infant is a blessing, as the infant itself is not exposed to the evil and darkness in this world, but can develop to an adult with no corruption.

Thank you for your replies on this.

Another reason beside the pastor teaching on it, came from personal experience. My wife is a NICU nurse and i have regretfully attended 2 infant funerals, and began wandering about this. I have visited my wifes work before and she has brought home pictures of the children she is taking care of to show me. Not for shock value or anything like that, but she gets attached to these tiny little babies and just wants to have reminders of them.

She would crochet little hats and socks for them from time to time. She has also told me of parents holding their children why the doctors remove their life support systems and letting the child pass.

I know that the lord is where we put our trust but a person who has lost a child may not take it that way and may actually turn from the lord in a situation like this and hold a grudge forever. I just want to be able to show a person in scripture that one day they will be reunited and if they keep close to the lord that he will comfort them and take away their pain.
Just trying to keep people from making a decision that could keep them from their reunion and worse yet could condemn them for eternity.

The example in the Bible is the death of Bathsheba's first born son, out of the adulterous relationship with David. Remember the child died, but David said he will not come to me but I will go to him (paraphrase).
I think that they will be known, didn't Lazarus recognize the rich man? Just a thought? The disciples recognized Jesus after he arose?

hi. not sure about abortions, but i no that when (by GOD'S grace) i get to heaven that my 2 daughters will b placed in my arms and i can watch them grow up into christ. in 1 way, i'm kinda glad that their not here as they don't have to grow up into sin. they are pure and asleep in Christ at the moment, but soon to b awaken. oh so soon. Praise GOD and JESUS.

when my 2 daughters died i hated GOD for an xtremely long time. but when i married my husband my mother-in-law by GOD'S grace kept working upon me and telling me af HIS wonderful love 4 me and all the human race. it took me years 2 give my heart to HIM, but i tell u what, it was the best decission that i have ever made in my life. HE is so wonderful and loving 2 me and my whole family. HE has blessed me with 2 beautiful daughters and has protected there lives, and for that i'm ever in HIS debt. my 2 girls r not walking with HIM neither is my husband. i'll tell u that even tho they're not walking with HIM, HE has saved the life of my eldest girl, i'll xplain. 1 friday nite before i went to bed i had my prayer and asked JESUS to watch over Jess as i new that she was going out drinking. during my sleep i had a dream that was so real that i new HE was with her. the went thus: in my dream jessica was in hospital getting her stomach pumped out. my heart was pumping that fast that i literally couldn't breath so i dat up with the fit of coughing and then got a drink of water and went bk to bed and said "LORD keep her safe as i no that somethings going on. i went bk to bed trusting that HE was watching over her and oh how HE was. when i went bk to bed feel asleep again and had the dame dream. i started crying (literally) in my sleep and cried LORD she's ur child save her. the next minute i get a phone call from her x and he said " helen u need to get to the hospital now as it's jess. i asked what had happened to her and he told me that she had passed out in the gutter at the nite club. the ambo's were called and got to her just in the nik of time and asked her friend what happened to her and he said that she was that drunk that she was falling ovr all the time, they then said to him tell us what she's on as she's nearly dead. he freaked out and said that sahe had taken 2 exstacy pills whilst so drunk. when her heart so spiking so high that thats when mine was in my dream. long story short, the doctors put 2 liters of saline thro her and it wasn't bringing her down as it normally does with others. they told me that she might have brain damage. i looked at her and she new who i was and i said to her how long r u going to let that devil control ur life jess. well lest to say that he wasn;t have with that from my mouth. this all took place at 5 am on Sabbath morn. they let her out at 2 pm that day. the point of telling u all this is that if we are faithful and trusting wholly in the LORD that HE will hear our prayers and HE will not leave us. our families are safe with HIM only if we walk with HIM. with my 2 babies that i lost, well i wasn't walking with the LORD then. so all i can say is TO GOD BE THE GLORY. AMEN

Its silly to think that someone who had a miscarriage that baby would go to heaven, but a baby that a mother killed wouldnt.......

OK guys, some of you might not like this but I will spell it out.

'The life is in the blood' applies to animals.

When the blood of a sacrificial animal was poured out it was pouring out its life.

Now.....

God breathed into the man the breaths of lives. When a man and woman kiss this is a memorial to what God accomplished when he breathed life into the first man.

A human being becomes a living soul when it takes its first breath.

Jesus poured out his life for us, not when he bled all over the ground(in fact he bled very little) but when he breathed his last; he gave up his life for us.

Christ's scourging wasn't as severe as Mel Gibson pretended it to be.

As I recall in reading about John the baptist did not God say that I was with him even in the womb? I think Our Lord God speaks well to this question.
God bless, pickles

Why would they not go to heaven? God planned us from the very start. Every birth is planned... why would then not unborn children go to heaven? It would, in my mind, be kinda strange if God created them just to "destroy" them.
