Christ's scourging wasn't as severe as Mel Gibson pretended it to be.
even so, surely you know the method used by the romans, their method tore the skin, the crown of thorns that punctured His scalp...ever had a cut on the head?...coupled with the fact that He was exerting Himself by being forced to carry the cross resulting in the heart really working hard. simple medical physics will show that quite a lot of bleeding would have occurred.

he bled very little?

you are aware that the nails werent actually driven through his hands, but through his wrists, right? = lots of blood

and as has been said... roman scourging was quite harsh... actually, they had a limit for how many blows someone could be given, just to make sure the scourging by itself didn't kill people

After Jesus said 'Tedelesti' He gave up the ghost ie He breathed his last. He did not bleed to death.

Some time later the soldier put the spear in his side and out came blood clots and serum(blood & water). This means that once his heart stopped beating the blood had the chance to drain to his chest cavity and congeal.

Luke was a doctor.

I'm not saying he necessarily bled to death (though that would seem a likely part of it) I said he bled a lot. adn Jesus could give up his breath any time I guess, blood or no blod, right?

I change my mind, he did lose a lot of blood. Jesus was probably half dead before being hoisted up on the cross. The bible does say his scourging was particularly severe somewhere in Luke I think.

I believe Jesus shed all His blood for our sins, and not only our sins but the whole world.
(1 John 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.)

Luke 24:39
Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have

No mention of any blood here, though this isn't exactly evidence He had no blood, just the fact He didn't mention it.

Actually this is rather an important point. Our resurrected bodies will be flesh and bone only. No blood. So where is the life?

MahogonySnail: I don't know how you came to that conclusions, but Isaiah 52:14 seems to indicate differently

I was responding to something you said earlier. "Christ's scourging wasn't as severe as Mel Gibson pretended it to be."

Well that's what the medical experts said, no man could survive what was done in the Mel Gibson film, it was too lengthy and over the top. Roman scourging weren't as severe - they didn't want to kill him, they had to keep him alive so he could die on the cross. But it had to be exaggerated I suppose because it was a movie afterall.
