I have done much research on Halloween and have tested it with Scripture. Why do Christians like associating themselves with Halloween which is wickedness? It is clearly pagan, and witches and powerful workers of occultism obsess over that day!(you could have a FIELD day, interviewing witches and researching the EVILS of Halloween!)
"Abstain from all appearance of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:22
There are many verses that clearly teach to abstain from all evil! But look at this verse! It doesn't say "Abstain from all of evil", It says to "Abstain from all APPEARANCE of evil" The appearance of evil is just as bad in God's eyes as actually doing evil!
And again, the WORLD loves this holiday! I watch in horror as many of my unsaved friends dress up in costumes, party, and go trick or treating! Do you think my friends do this because it is right or because they are following the world? They are DEAD in their sins, they do not know truth! And for a Christian to participate in what they are doing, oh how we KILL our testimonies of Christ! Again, I must say why do many Christians find ways to COMPROMISE and legitimize things that are worldly? Yes I will always get the case where a Christian dresses up as a Biblical character, or something similar, but why should we have to do things the WORLD's way? How does dressing up like David for instance, witness the gospel to the unsaved world? Yeah, it shows them you are a Christian! But it doesn't teach them they are SINNERS before God and need a Savior! Once they get saved, you can teach them about David as they are fed SPIRITUAL food! Do you like the idea of dressing up like Jesus on Halloween? As if Jesus Himself is CONDONING Halloween? That is utter BLASPHEMY! I say this with passion because it really hurts me to know that my unsaved friends see NO difference between many Christians and the world today!
You want to make a difference for Jesus? You can start by preaching the gospel of salvation to our lost world who are dying in their sins and headed for the lake of fire! And by actually LIVING it out to help your testimony! Just look at Jesus Himself. Did He use worldly principles to witness to the unsaved? NO!
"Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?" Psalm 94:16
"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the
same, but have pleasure in them that do them." Romans 1:28-32
Take a look at this list in Romans. It is loaded with things God HATES with a passion! Halloween is wicked and the world praises it! I can assure you Halloween fits in this list! I'll name 2-"wickedness" and "inventors of evil things". The catcher is the last line in Romans 1:28-32. Not only are people who engage in these sort of things deserving of death, but those who have pleasure in THEM that do these things! It's like watching a movie where a person is getting tortured and just watching it like it was entertainment. Yes, you are not the one torturing, but you have pleasure in the partakers of these deeds by watching it! That's exactly what it is like for those who take pleasure in things like Halloween! But what's worse is we are not merely watching/approving those who celebrate Halloween, we are PARTAKERS in it as well!
"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:4
So, most of the secular world embraces Halloween, the money industry thrives off it, and yet Christians cant even understand verses that speak about the world!
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." 1 John 2:15-17
How much will it take for Christians to wake up out of their slumber? The will of God which this verse refers to is found in the following passage:
"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:40
I stand without compromise, approval ratings mean nothing to me. God clearly condemns Halloween as it is saturated with evil, wickedness, and the MERE APPEARANCE of evil is something to be shunned too! I ask in humility, that God would open the eyes of Christians to the evil schemes of the devil.
