Jaumej thank you for this thread it really brings home how much Christ teaches us.. some of the ways the Lord would do things make me smile...like when the tax money is found in the fishes mouth..

But this just stood out to me:

Mark 12

28
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this isthe first commandment. 31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question

Our view of the truth does not make the truth less or more true, what is true and right is true and right becasue He says, not because we accpt it!!!!

And do not call anyone on earth your father, for One is your Father, He who is in the heavens. Neither be called leaders, for One is your Leader, the Messiah. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Yahdaim or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit; For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot should say: Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say: Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the sense of smelling? But now YHWH has set the members, each one of them in the body, as it has pleased Him."[/FONT]

Not meaning to be argumentative here, but do you not also see how this "work" of paying the tax was of the Spirit and not of self effort?

The command was a spiritual word from the mouth of the Lord. Not the written law.

The children of the King are not taxed............. Yet Jesus advises his disciple to pay the tax so as not to offend the tax collector. For now it tells me the Children of God are exempt from human bonds......free. It says more but this I will lwave to you to understand as you will by the Holy Spirit.

That is not argumentive that is simply bringing forth something for us to consider ... obviously one had to go fishing and then submit.. so some work was done but a marvellous way to pay tax eh..

So, now will you be wanting to elaborate with your understanding? I would love to hear you, truly. It is christ's teaching here and you are His so what does He say to you here?

When I was first injured, I could not work. And I was single, plus my children by this time, were all on their own. I had no income, no way to get income. Helpless. If I had had children, then welfare, but it was minimal.

The pastor came to my home, counseled me, and said the Lord was going to speak a word that evening to me.

I no longer put my head down, till I heard this. " I am a King, and you are my daughter. You can expect to receive the benefits of living in my kingdom, now."

These words are to us all who are His. We have returned to the garden, and He supplies all our need.

Am sure many here are living these words too. This is how I understand *not by works*. Jaume, you have written the same type of testimonies to me. I know you know.

That is wonderful testimony, and I praise God for your story of faith, strong faith. I know He does thes works for us all by my own experience but your testimony is enough for me now. I am not here to one up or one down.

We both know He cares for us all, and it is amazing just how He does it, always underscoring the teacing that His ways are not ours, and He is wonderful and mysterious at all times, yet He is always present. His love is a warmth that cannot be decribed. I ah happy you are so given in faith to our Lord, and I praise Him for you. God keep you always, amen. OH, you caught me hitting the sack, good night from here.

First said and taught to all, "Man shall not live by bread alone."

Again, this time silencing the enemy, "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."

I love this teaching.
