Revelations 3: 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

God expects His people to be excited and enthusiatic about Him.

Mark 7: 6 He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. (Jesus quoting Isaiah 29:13).

We get excited about those things that we love. We should be excited about spreading the Gospel!! We should be excited about God's love for us. We should be excited that Jesus has provided a way for us to return to Him!! Consider the lame man that Jesus healed through Peter and John in Acts 3.

Acts 3: 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. 6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Should we not have the same excitement as this man? We have been healed from eternal separation from God! We should all praise and glorify God!

Does it hurt church morale if church leaders show favoritism?

Does it hurt church morale if church leaders show favoritism?

James 2

Favoritism Forbidden

1 My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism.2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? 6 But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong? 8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. 12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!

Isn't it wonderful that the answers to so many questions about life can be found in the Word of God?

Favortism always hurts morale in almost any group setting. Those being discriminated against will feel slighted, and those who participate should feel convicted by their consciences of the wrongful nature of their actions.

God has just recently gave me a message that pertains to this I preached it at a preachers JUbilee , where there was about 20 to 25 preachers, Paul was a mighty Man Of God and after all that paul went through I can't imagine paul being afraid of anything , But these scriptures tell us that paul feared something . look and see what paul feared,

co 12:20For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:2co 12:21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

Paul feared that when he came back to the Church of Corinth, that he would find all these things in the church, yeah I know that alot of these can be found in here also , but a church is the place where people with like faith come together to worship God , A bible discussion forum is not a church, I wished that there was more of us in accordance with one another within the scriptures, but this thread is about church morale, and this is no Church. Paul says nothing here about He is concerned that he won't find any not giving to the Church but Paul was more concern about who the Church was made up of and what kind of hearts he would find in the Church.
