In Proverbs it says "In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality." You know As Human beings we can never fathom what it will be like when we come to earth. As young ones we think we can conquer all and take the earth by storm but yet we can't even conquer ourselves and our sinful nature. That is if we live by Human Nature, But there is another Nature we can live by. The Righteous Nature of God. Impossible to live by? Impossible to be perfect maybe but it doesn't mean you can't strive to be so.

Now let me be clear there is only one person that ever lived that Perfect Righteous Nature of God and His name is Jesus Christ. He set the model and standard on how we are to live by. You may ask, Can we live this Righteous Nature and live it Perfectly? We can certainly live it, we may not be perfect in it but we can strive to be Perfect in it.

Did you know that in this world today our biggest enemy isn't satan because Jesus defeated him 2000 years ago but is Sinful Our Human Nature? Do you know why we are at constant war with our human nature? It's because we think it's an easier life to live by! And we want things to be nice and easy for us and not face the challenges of living like Christ did! But is it really a challenge to live like Christ did? Remember He said, "My yoke is easy and My burden is light."You see that is the wrong mindset we as Human Beings have had all this time! You may not think it or believe it but it's true! When you Become a Christian and start living the life Christ intended for you and I to live by, it becomes easier and easier for us to put behind Our Sinful Human Nature of the past. And as we do that we can more and more live The Righteous Nature of God.

But it doesn't mean you won't be tested in your walk. Does it not say in James? "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Remember we all get tested at some point in our lives from time to time but it doesn't mean we walk away and give up striving to be Christlike! We must push through this and we conquer our human nature through Jesus Christ and when we do that we will then start acting like and becoming more like Christ each day in our daily walk with Him. That's when we start living The Christ Nature!

In Closing here is the verse from Proverbs we began with in this blog "In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality."

The only real way to conquer our flesh is by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. If we walk in the Spirit as He leads us and not by our own flesh. Read Romans 8:1-8.

God already has a remedy for the human nature - the crucifixion, baptism, the new birth, the indwelling Spirit. See the book of Romans. onwingsaseagles, amen.

Angel, I couldn't agree with you more my brother. In scripture Christ calls us to follow after his example however, because Christ was able to do so perfectly, most christians do not even make an effort. Instead the lean on the teachings of Paul which, once carnal logic is applied, can be legalistically twisted into a "I can do nothing on my own strength so I'll sit and do nothing while waiting on God to do it all for me" attitude.

The problem with this mindset is that it is clearly in direct contradiction with Christ's own words found in the Sermon on the Mount in which Christ himself tells us to "take up your cross and follow after me". Here Christ gives the command "crucify the flesh" and "present yourselves as a living sacrifice" both which implies that, while we must lean on the Holy Spirit for strength and understanding, there is indeed an effort to be made on our part to conform to the likeness of Christ. In other words "faith without works is dead".

(Galatians 5:24) "And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."

(Romans 13:14) " But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof."

In ending I just want to say that Christ never called us into a "sinless perfection". In fact, He gave His life for the forgiveness of sin because He knows that no man is perfect. However, what we must understand is that Christ calls us to follow His example PERFECTLY which means that we must commit ourselves to a lifestyle of loving and selfless stewardship, not because our works will get us into heaven or because we expect to receive a reward or promotion, but because we love God (and others) and want to honor Him with our words and actions.

(Galatians 2:20) "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

I would like to take a moment to give you guys an example of the two mindsets (as I perceive them) which currently reside in the Body of Christ that I alluded to in my earlier post. I allow you guys to draw
your own conclusions as to which example you subscribe (believe) and which you think the Apostle Paul actually had in mind. Here's the text I'd like to use as it reads in the New King James Version:

(Galatians 2:20)

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live - but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

MINDSET #1:

(Galatians 2:20)

"I (hypothetically) have been crucified with Christ (2000 years ago); it is no longer I who live (hypothetically)- but Christ lives in me (based on assumption drawn from only some scripture); and the life which I now live in the flesh (sin nature) I live by faith (in thought only but not in deed thus assuming that Christ has already done it all for me so no effort what so ever on my part is required) in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself (in crucifixion & resurrection only) for me."

MINDSET #2:

(Galatians 2:20)

"I have been crucified with Christ (by living out His example); it is no longer I who live (because I no longer pursue my own will thus placing the will of Christ and the needs of others before my own) - but Christ lives in me (in Spirit and in truth according to all scripture) ; and the life which I now live in the flesh (my earthly body - an empty vessel void of all selfish pursuits) I live by faith (in thought and in deed leaving no room for doubt what so ever) in the Son of God (Jesus), who loved me and gave Himself (all of sacrifices - humbling himself to become a man through the virgin birth, His life - giving us an example of the only lifestyle please to God, His crucifixion, and His ressurection - All of which He did) for me."

Unfortunately, this division runs deep within the Body of Christ and across a wide range of subject matter found throughout scripture. My reasons for pointing out the two mindsets (as I percieve them) is not to cause conflict but to shed light upon in the hopes that the two camps can better understand one another.

I personally subscribe to Mindset #2 and, in doing so, perceive the other to be somewhat legalistic and far reaching (assumptious) however, that is purely my opinion.
