[h=3]Isaiah 34[/h]King James Version (KJV)

1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
2 For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
8 For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Who or what nations is the prophet speaking or warning ?

What is the sword of the Lord ?

What does it mean the controversy of zion ?

When will or has this controversy taken place already ?

Who is zion ?

Any other additional information will be helpful

Thankies :)

God gathers ALL nations against Jerusalem to battle that he may pour out his wrath upon them
The sword of the Lord is the Word of His mouth
The controversy is over Jerusalem
This comes at the end of the age and is lining up as we type.

What? The Controversy Of Zion is the climax of the Issue of God’s Sovereignty. Zion was historically where the Kings of the Davidic Dynasty ruled from.

Who? The Zion is heavenly not earthly. (Hebrews 12:22,23) But YOU have approached a Mount Zion and a city of [the] living God, heavenly Jerusalem, and myriads of angels, [SUP]23[/SUP] in general assembly, and the congregation of the firstborn who have been enrolled in the heavens, and God the Judge of all, and the spiritual lives of righteous ones who have been made perfect,

[SUP]Revelatlions 19:11-16 states : 11[/SUP] And I saw the heaven opened, and, look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. [SUP]12[/SUP] His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, [SUP]13[/SUP] and he is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God. [SUP]14[/SUP] Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen. [SUP]15[/SUP] And out of his mouth there protrudes a sharp long sword, that he may strike the nations with it, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. He treads too the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty. [SUP]16[/SUP] And upon his outer garment, even upon his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

The scope of the controversy is global. All nations are involved!! Jesus will separate people as a shepherd separated sheep. At Matthew 25:31,32 Jesus said:
[SUP]31[/SUP] “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. [SUP]32[/SUP] And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

When? Jesus did not give us the time. He gave the admonition. At Matthew 25:13 he said[SUP] 13[/SUP] “Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU know neither the day nor the hour.

[h=3]Psalm 102:13-21[/h]King James Version (KJV)

13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;
20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;

What is the controversy ? WAhat will cause it ?
[h=3]Isaiah 8:9-12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Obedience to the law of God even unto death
honor glory power of the cross of obedience unto death

let us be like Jesus
let us take up our cross of obedience to the word of God even unto death

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured
such contradiction of sinners against himself,
lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin (sin is the transgression of the law).
Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons;
for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us,
and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
