You explain it well.

It is a minor point, but I think James spoke from the Lord's truth. That would say that it wasn't the obedience of Abraham that God saw, but that Abraham's obedience was a result of his faith. God spoke of the faith, otherwise one scripture would not agree with another scripture. I think to correctly understand scripture we must look at all scripture. It agrees.
Totally agree! I have been saying this very thing in that, many people attempt to contend for their beliefs on any given Biblical subject, but they only present partial information.

This is a classic example used in Hermeneutics. And proves why it is vital to understand Bible interpretation.

The fallacy with this thread is pulling 2 verses out of context, putting them together, when the do not belong together and they are not found together!

"You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!" James 2:19

"9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Romans 10:9-10

Notice how a verse from
James is linked with Romans 10:9. Some might protest and say the demons believe, so they are saved. Even though logically, that makes no sense, and has no meaning.

But verse 10 of Romans 10, explains some more parts of our salvation. Not anything different, just more details. The demons do not fulfill anything in Romans 10:10, so they cannot be saved, because they are in fear of Christ.

So, take a hermeneutics course, learn how to properly read the Bible and you won't end up debating things that are not connected. As I always say, look at the verses in context to the verses around them. Don't shove part of one verse, with part of another verse, not even found in the same book!

There is no indication in Scripture that salvation was ever offered to the angels and/or demons...
Scripture tells us tha by knowing of God and the power of the Lord, they shudder. When we know of the power of the Lord we are to act on that knowledge with trust in that power to save us rather than to just shudder at the power of the Lord.

Scripture does not tell us demon's belief has anything to do with their salvation, but that they shudder when they know of God's power. You are right in pointing that out to me.

We are to learn from scripture, we are to learn from this verse. As I rethink this, based on this fact that is pointed out to me, (thank you) I think the message is still there that we need to act on our knowledge of the power of the Lord with faith and trust in that power.

Dog is an animal

It doesn't mean every animal is dog.

Faith bear fruit of love that produce good work Example feed the hungry

It doesn't mean feed the hungry always product from faith in Jesus.
Hello Jackson123

One of my ex-colleagues told me that he believes that God exists and Jesus is the Son of God and has read the bible and believes that it is true.

But he does want to be a Christian, because it he becomes a Christian then his lifestyle will have to change and he does not want to change his lifestyle.

He told me that he wants to have a “good time”. His definition of having a “good time” is getting wasted, partying every weekend, living for himself and sleeping around with different women.

Now this person believes in God and in Jesus and the Bible, but he does not behave like a Christian and does not want to do what the bible says. Is he saved?

Imo it has nothing to do with belief. Before demons were angles. They were privy to know God first hand .To see him sitting on the throne. To see his handy work. His almighty power. Reading job it gives us a scriptural in sight that they presented them selves daily before the Lord.
But they rebelled believing in the pride of lucifer. I don't think there's any excuse fore that.

We see the same scenario played out in the last days that draw truth to my opinion. Satan and his minion are bound for a millennium.
But loosed for a season. The nation's around Jerusalem seeing Christ as King and all the things being healed and restored.
Yet Satan manages to deceive again and brings war once more.

Pride brings envy, envy brings strife, strife brings hatred, hatred brings war.

Being saved means that you are free of sin so you can live with the Lord who cannot live with sin. We are all sinners, God knew we were all condemned to hell by Adam and Eve bringing sin into the world God created so to take care of that, God gave the blood of Christ. That blood is to cleansed us of our sin. We can't even be sinless after we are cleansed, so God told us of repentance. Not wanted to sin is repenting. Your friend wants sin, considers the life of the flesh more important than living eternally and receiving the fruits of the spirit--the difference between deep joy and a roller coaster ride. He cannot be a sinner and a person without sin at the same time.

We hear that anyone who believes in Christ is saved, yet the demons believe
in Christ and they are not saved. Do we have to do more to be saved?
What more is required?
According to certain passages in the Old Testament and the New, salvation
is species-specific. Christ is a man so he could die for his fellow men. For the
demons to be saved, one of their own would have to die for them.

In addition, Christ was an acceptable sacrifice because he was righteous and
100% innocent of any wrong doing. To my knowledge there are no unique
demons like that; I'm pretty sure they're all unrighteous and all are 100% evil.

Also, according to the available data; redeemers are supposed to be
kinsman. To my knowledge, none of the demons are related, and none are
capable of procreation. They were very likely all created en masse like when
the beasts, birds, and bugs were created in the first chapter of Genesis.
Those first creatures were created in swarms and herds rather than starting
each species out with a solo specimen like human life was and then going
from there to produce the rest.

This post has established that demons are not like humans, to be saved. What isn't established is if simply knowing the Christ has the ability to save and having faith in that Christ can do that is enough to save us, or do we also have to act on that knowledge.

Hiya Angela!

WHAT ARE THEY LACKING ? ? ?

James 2:19 (NJB)
19 You believe in the one God—that is creditable enough, but even the demons have the same belief, and they tremble with fear.

They did not believe with their WHOLE HEART, only with what lies between their ears.

Mark 12:29-30 (NJB)
29 Jesus replied, This is the first: Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one, only Lord,
30 and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.

THERE IS THE DEFINATIVE ANSWER.

Scripture tells us tha by knowing of God and the power of the Lord, they shudder. When we know of the power of the Lord we are to act on that knowledge with trust in that power to save us rather than to just shudder at the power of the Lord.
And still there is no mention of salvation being offered to the angels.

Equating their knowledge and fear of God with human faith is simply just wrong.

I whole heartedly agree, it is the base of life itself. But loving the Lord does not get our sins forgiven, and that is essential if we are to live with the Lord in eternity.

YOU ARE CORRECT, SALVATION HAPPENED BEFORE TIME BEGAN, when HE WROTE OUR NAMES IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Philippians 4:3 (HCSB)
3 Yes, I also ask you, true partner, to help these women who have contended for the gospel at my side, along with Clement and the rest of my coworkers whose names are in the book of life.

Revelation 17:8 (HCSB)
8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up from the abyss and go to destruction. Those who live on the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast that was, and is not, and will be present ⌊again⌋.

Revelation 13:8-9 (ESV)
8 and all who dwell on earth will worship it {The Image of the Beast, therefore, Rapture will have already taken place, and the Tribulation Saints, will have already been Martyred, and the 144,000 Jews will have already been Sealed.}, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear:

Revelation 20:15 (HCSB)
15 And anyone not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27 (HCSB)
27 Nothing profane will ever enter it: no one who does what is vile or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Eternal life was given to us before time began, but the disobedience of Adam and Eve took this away, it brought us death. That is when God gave blood on the altar for our souls, and Christ fulfilled that promise of life and made it perfect. Lev. 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

It is through Christ as Christ gives us forgiveness of sin that we have the eternal life God meant for us to have and the sin of Adam and Eve took from us as they brought on death.

'everything is missing,', for their 'so called belief in God is 'false', HELLO, they are 'demons...
if anything/one is unable to give God the whole glory of the creation of heaven and earth,
that He deserves, then they are for sure un-enlightened, serving satan...

This is all so true, but we come around to the fact that Christ's work for us was to save us from the sin that would kill us unless Christ forgives us. Would giving God the glory be the answer to asking Christ to forgive our sin?

Repent and be baptised for the remission of sins. Demons dont like water as evidenced by all those pigs who were possessed with demons ran into the water to shut them up.
