‘ The little blue and crimson finch sings in the boughs. His sweet conversation to Bambi deer as he pants at the water brooks, refreshing his spirit. His gentle eyes take in the hues of the Chapel-like forest, and the leaves of friendship fall about their timid love. The flowers, He fills with a fragrance in the grove. I receive into my spirit faith that bears a flower and a life full of joy, peace, love, kindness and all the fruits of His nature.
A little butterfly with gossamer wings in a poetic dance of joy frolicks on the unfurling petals of a pink virgin rose. The little fawn sniffs delicately and she settles on it.’ By Julie and translated by my loving husband.
This is a sweet allegory that discusses the fruit of the Holy Spirit, GALATIANS 5: 22-23. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, self-control and the nature of Bambi deer.
The fruit of the enemy is : lust dressed as the counterfeit of love, hate, melancholy, anger, jealousy, idolatry, pretension and dissention, and no self-control etc ......et al as a diachotomy.

The fruit of the Spirit are not merely characteristics that we aspire to own. They are glorious graces that must characterize all those who pursue a Christlike characcter. There are nine fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. This is a catalog of the cardinal virtues of the Christian faith. Incorporating the fruit of the Spirit into our lives is not the result of personal effort or direct discipline. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are not personality traits achieved by repitition and rehearsal. Rather these beautiful qualities of Christlikeness are added to our lives as the by-product of an indirect focus. Those who seek Christ that they may ''know [Him] and the power of the resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings'' (Phillipians 3:10) are possessed of a passion that produces a Christlike spirit. The spiritual hunger that causes us to want to be more like Jesus will in time be satisfied. At that point the fruit of the spirit will inevitably characterise our lives- because our focus will permit no other culmination to our love affair with Jesus Christ.
''Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.'' (Romans 12:1-2). Acting out the values known as the fruit of the Spirit will indeed transform our hearts and forge our characters.
Desiring to embody the fruit of the Spirit makes us inwardly like Christ.
Acting out the fruit of the Spirit convinces and converts a needy world.[/QUOTE]

Fruits of the spirit;
These are fuits of the spirit in action.

mathew2531:
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34: Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37: Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38: When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39: Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40: And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41: Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44: Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45: Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46: And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Galatians 5:22-23

.........................

'...the fruit of the
Spirit is...'
(v.22, my italics)

An excerpt from my ''Inspiring Women'' daily devotional..

''I've got a big apple tree in my garden. When people come to visit and admire the tree, I don't have to say, ' Yes, it's beautiful. But I don't know what kind of tree it is.' I know what sort it is-because of the abundance of Bramley's every autumn.

The fruit of the Spirit is precisely that. It is the fruit of God's Spirit living in us. We don't have to work it up; again, we are faced with the principle we have been studying- we have to rest and let Him do the work through us. As soon as we have believed in Christ as our Lord and Saviour and been born again by the Spirit of God (John 3:3), we can rely on the fact that God will begin to produce fruit in keeping with our new nature.

But there's a proviso. Jesus said we must 'remain in Him' (see John 15:1-8). What does that mean? Well, it means we have to stay rested in Him, stay connected, surrendering to Him-sometimes moment by moment. We listen for HIs voice and obey it, in the power and strength He gives us by His spirit.

Never think that the fruit of the Spirit is something we can 'work up'. We can all fall into this trap. ' I must try to be nicer and forgiving and Christlike to the person who parks in front of my garage without permission. Oh! He's there again. It's no use. I feel so angry!' We can no more work up compassionate and forgiving feelings than we can work up joy or lasting peace. These things are the fruit of the One who lives in us. Trust Him to manifest His fruit in your life as you learn to listen and obey and rest in Him. Don't strive to be a better person. Let Him do the work that is needed.

For Prayer
and reflection

Lord, thank you
that you live in
me by your Spirit.
Help me to rest in
Him, trusting Him
to bring about
the good fruit of
Your presence.
Amen.

Fruit of The Spirit in Genesis:

LOVE: The love of God is evident as God created, led, redeemed and moved through the lives of the first people, as well as the covenant people of Israel.

JOY: Joy was manifested in the personal satisfaction God derived from creation. As he created, he daily observed that each of the creative acts was ''good''. Joy was part of Rebekah's life when her obedience to God's will led her to a husband and family. Joy was the reult of Joseph's life as he saved his family from famine.

PEACE: Peace is the natural corollary of covenant. When God gave Noah his covenant, peacefulness settled on the entire earth as the floodwaters soaked into the ground and plants grew. The promise of '' never again'' is a central theme in God's will and a promise by God for all people throughout time.

PATIENCE: While we wait, patience makes the time seem shorter and sweeter. Abraham waited for an heir, and while he waited, he obeyed GOD.

KINDNESS: If faithfulness leads to obedience, kindness indicates the spirit in which we obey. Both Abraham and Joseph illustrate a willing desire to obey God. Kindness means that we obey God out of love, with joyous compliance, and we serve others without resentment. Kindness always wears a spirit of servanthood, which our egos gladly assume whenever we come face-to-face with God.

GOODNESS: From the very beginning of time, God's holiness and his intolerance for sin have been obvious. Genesis describes how people learned about God's goodness and his desire that atonement be made for sin. God required that all people deal seriously with sin in their lives. Every altar that was built displayed the roots of the sacrificial system and made it clear that goodness was God's agenda.

''The Fruit of the Spirit is described in this passage. However, fruit is not a labor to a tree or vine. It is natural. The vine or tree doesn't work to produce fruit.

The Fruit of the Spirit is evidence that the Spirit of God is working through someone. Many people try to replicate the fruit of the Spirit in their lives, but that is not how the Spirit produces fruit. The Spirit produces fruit when God lives through His people.

Dr. Bill Gillham put it very well. "Only one person was able to live the Christian life: Jesus Christ. He want to do it again through you."

If we abide in the vine (John 15:1-
, the Spirit will produce His fruit through our lives. We walk in faith (which is walking in the Spirit) and God produces the fruit.''

An excerpt from the Holy WORD in my 'Fruits of the Spirit Bible.'

The Vine and the branches

15:1 ''I am the true vine and my father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Cutting back the foliage of the ego
John 15:1-2

A grapevine is meant to grow grapes. When the vine produces nothing, its very purpose is frustrated. Then comes the pruning knife. It cuts. The vine bleeds. But in giving up its unproductive members. It later hangs heavy with fruit. Pain is the surgeon of the spirit. it amputates dead tissue to bring forth life.

3 You are already clean because of the WORD I have spoken to you.

4 Remain in me, and i will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5'' I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5
Stay Connected
''The unnourished vine will wither. So attach yourself in prayer to the feeding root of God. Drink the sweet elexir of his nourishing purpose. Then merely wait. The hungry, lost world will come to your vine to enjoy its shade and eat of your fruit. And you will have done nothing in your service other than staying attached to the root.

6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

16 You did not choose me but I chose you, and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

- A short thought from God's Word

John 15:1-2: "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

God desires and works for fruit in the lives of His people.

- A short thought from God's Word

John 15:5-6: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Only by living and walking in Him can we accomplish anything that has real significance. If we do not abide in Him, we cannot accomplish anything. We are of no more use than a branch that bears no fruit.

Love The first fruit of the Spirit is LOVE.

God loved the world before He made it.

Genesis 1:1

Every world was in God's mind before it came to occupy his sky. God created and all things came into existence. Jesus came and all things acquired new significance.

Goodness (the Fruit)

God's Moral Mirror.
Genesis 1:26

It was a high compliment to human beings when God made us his moral mirror. It was an even higher compliment when God, in Christ, assumed a human form to repair that broken mirror.

The human renovation
Was a costly thing indeed.
Who knew that God could suffer?
Who knew that God could bleed?

THE EVIDENCE OF LOVE IS GIVING

Read Genesis 1:29

A primary evidence of love is giving. Can there be a surer index of love? Shakespeare said, '' They do not love that do not show their love.'' In this Genesis passage, no sooner are Adam and Eve created than their loving Creator says, ''I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth... They will be yours for food.'' Human beings are barely created when they receive from God a gift: the earth itself!

One can only imagine ''Mr and Mrs First Folks'' saying, ''No, God-it is too much! All this for us?''

God might have replied,'' Yes, it is all for you. You must learn in receiving this gift from me that I love you. And while your decendants may someday think that they can give without loving, no one can ever love without giving. Here, on the fist day of your existence, receive this present- this planet- as evidence that I am God, and God is love. Then you will know that you were made and given this world as evidence of my love. My desire toward my children is to keep on showing them my love forever.''

In the next chapters of Genesis, an unthinkable pageant unfolds. Adam and Eve disobey. Having been loved to the level of paradise, they abandon God's love for the plastic pleasures of all God has forbidden. The first sin is not only bad because it's first; it's bad because it takes the holy, pure love of heaven and refuses to honour it. As a result of such reprehensible treatment of God's love, the gates of Eden slam shut. Adam and Eve's exile was not only their punishment, it was the prequil to all those who see the love of God and turn their backs on it.

The seeds of human desperation lie at every refusal to cherish the most valuable treasure in the world- the love of God.

Memorise this week
2 Corinthians 9:7

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give,
not reluctantly, or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Love and the purpose of God in my life.

Sometimes God's purposes in our lives come to us as a process of slow revelation. We believe in his love, but we want his blessings now. Sarah experienced the giving love of God, but she had to wait until God performed a miracle. Then, she saw with her own eyes the grace of God in her life.

Turn to Genesis 21:1-6, page 27 ' Fruit of the Spirit Bible'. page 27, for today's study.

Love and my Relationship with Christ.

One of the grand evidences that God's giving love is operative in any life is that God acted once-and-for-all in Christ to forgive all our sins. This unbelievable act of grace allows us to live in joy and security, knowing that all we have ever done wrong or ever will do wrong is completed covered by the blood of Christ's atonement. This kind of love is ours so that we can live in continued peace and ministry to others. Turn to Romans 4:7-8, page 1337, for today's study. 'Fruit of the Spirit Bible'.

Love and my Service to Others.

Jesus makes it clear to Peter that those who have drunk of God's giving love must see that such grace carries with it the obligation to love others. As we love others, we begin to find we must serve them. When we serve them, we show our love to God by ministering to those he loves. Turn to John 21:15, page 1283, for today's study. 'Fruit of the Spirit Bible'.

Love and its place in my Personal Worship.

God's love always provides a motive to praise him. Once we are overwhelmed by his grace, we can only pause and burst into hymns of gratitude for such love as this. The imagery of God's love in the Book of Hosea is a call to stop all selfish living and give ourselves to worship. Turn to Hosea 11:1-9, page 1039, for today's study.
