So some say baptism does not save us but the bible says it does 1Pet 3:21. Anyone who can read can understand this question

Peter said baptism was only a figure, A symbol of salvation, And the Greek proves him right.

The bible says nothing about whether the theif was baptized or not. Stop adding to scripture.
Recieving the Holy spirit was a sign in the case of Cornelius. he had recieved the spirit just as Peter began speaking, which means he hadn't heard the gospel. How could he believe if Peter had barely started preaching to them? The gifts they recieved was the let the apostle know they were legit and was truly from God.

[1] The idea of baptism, Was repenting of their sins, How could the thief repent and still carry on being a thief.
Plus he didn't repent until he was on the cross.
The Bible doesn't say the thief was baptised... To say he was, Is just pure speculation.
We should deal with facts, Not speculation.

[2]The Gentiles did hear the gospel, Acts 10: 34--43, And while Peter was speaking, the Gentiles believed, got born again, baptised in the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues.... But they weren't baptised in water, Neither were the Old Testament saints, But they are in heaven.

[3]The disciples were baptised in water, But they weren't saved, So if baptism saves, They would have been saved way before Jesus died and rose again.... But they weren't, because water baptism doesn't save.

I don't think I have read anywhere that Matthew, Mark, Luke or John was baptized in water. I don't think I have read where Jesus has baptized anyone in water.
I have not found any indication that the Apostles were baptized. The closest thing would have been when Jesus washed their feet. I am not saying that was a "baptism". I am just saying that I agree. Scripture does not tell us they were baptized. Paul was, but other than Paul we do not find any record of Apostles being baptized - in water.

Baptism is a picture and public testimony of your acceptance and belief into the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus by faith for total salvation. Salvation is a gift that requires nothing but faith into the completed works Of Jesus Christ and his Faith.

Baptism states that you....

1. Are dead to the world
2. Buried with Christ
3. Resurrected in Jesus

It is the first act of obedience, is a work of righteousness, is an answer of a good conscience toward God and DOES NOT SAVE YOU OR ADD TO YOUR SALVATION!

Well I believe the Scriptures. First Peter 3:21 says it DOES save you.

Wrong again.

No, there is not just one Gospel. There are four mentioned in the New Testament.

Now in regards to this dispensation which we call the Church Age, yes there is only Gospel that we are to preach today and that is Paul's Gospel, which is the Gospel of the Death, Burial, and Resurrection (1 Cor. 15:1-6). This is the Gospel which was commited unto Paul by revelation from the Lord Jesus Christ (Gal. 1:11-12).

However though, once the Rapture of the Body of Christ happens, the Church Age ends. And a new Dispensation and Administration begins.

The Gospel that will be preached in the time of Jacob's trouble is the Gospel of the Kingdom. And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world by the 144,000 sealed Jews from the twelve tribes. The Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached for a witness to all nations (Matt. 24:14) and then the end (end of the tribulation) will come. Just as the Lord Jesus Christ prophesied.

Today for the Church Age, there is only One Gospel.

But in resprect to the different dispensations, there are four different Gospels mentioned in the New Testament.

Well today, there is not another Gospel.

But there will be another Gospel preached in the time of Jacob's trouble. It is called the 'everlasting Gospel' and it is preached by an Angel (Rev. 14:6).
Chosenbyhim, where are you getting this CRAZY stuff. It's not from the bible.

this is some of the explanatory material about baptism from catechism.

ARTICLE 1
THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

1213 Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua),[SUP]4[/SUP] and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."[SUP]5[/SUP]
I. WHAT IS THIS SACRAMENT CALLED?
1214 This sacrament is called Baptism, after the central rite by which it is carried out: to baptize (Greek baptizein) means to "plunge" or "immerse"; the "plunge" into the water symbolizes the catechumen's burial into Christ's death, from which he rises up by resurrection with him, as "a new creature."[SUP]6[/SUP]
1215 This sacrament is also called "the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit," for it signifies and actually brings about the birth of water and the Spirit without which no one "can enter the kingdom of God."[SUP]7[/SUP]
1216 "This bath is called enlightenment, because those who receive this [catechetical] instruction are enlightened in their understanding . . . ."[SUP]8[/SUP] Having received in Baptism the Word, "the true light that enlightens every man," the person baptized has been "enlightened," he becomes a "son of light," indeed, he becomes "light" himself:[SUP]9[/SUP]
Baptism is God's most beautiful and magnificent gift. . . .We call it gift, grace, anointing, enlightenment, garment of immortality, bath of rebirth, seal, and most precious gift. It is called gift because it is conferred on those who bring nothing of their own; grace since it is given even to the guilty; Baptism because sin is buried in the water; anointing for it is priestly and royal as are those who are anointed; enlightenment because it radiates light; clothing since it veils our shame; bath because it washes; and seal as it is our guard and the sign of God's Lordship.[SUP]10[/SUP]II. BAPTISM IN THE ECONOMY OF SALVATION

1. reborn as a son of God.
2. renewal by the Holy spirit.
3. become the son of light.

My question is :

Are every body in the catholic church that went to baptism ritual reborn as a son of God, renew by the Holy spirit become son of light?

If this the case Look this article bellow.

Did baptism ritual really make people born again, and what is the sign of born again? love or rape like the article bellow.

This is happen in vatican where the player not only being baptized but priest. If baptism ritual so powerful like what describe in the catechism above why this happen

Italian teenager Emanuela Orlandi is believed to have been kidnapped after a music lesson in Rome on June 22, 1983 when she was 15 (AP)

Italian priest Gabriel Amorth, 85, said girls were recruited for parties at the Vatican and said the death of 15-year-old Emanuela Orlandi, last seen alive in 1983, “was a crime with a sexual motive”.
The priest spoke out last week as investigators broke into the grave of a known gang boss in Rome following an anonymous tip that the key to Emanuala’s disappearance would be “found there”.
But so far bones which do not belong to mobster Enrico De Pedis, have not be positively identified as the girl’s.
In an interview with La Stampa newspaper, Father Amorth said: “It has already previously been stated by (deceased) monsignor Simeone Duca, an archivist at the Vatican, who was asked to recruit girls for parties with the help of the Vatican gendarmes.
"The network involved diplomatic personnel from a foreign embassy to the Holy See. I believe Emanuela ended up a victim of this circle,"
Father Gabriele Amorth was appointed by the late John Paul II as the Vatican's chief exorcist.
Emanuela Orlandi disappeared after leaving her family's Vatican City apartment to go to a music lesson in Rome. Her father was a lay employee of the Holy See.
Four years ago, Italian news reports quoted the dead mobster's former lover as telling Rome prosecutors that criminals from the city's crime syndicate, known as the Magliana gang, had kidnapped the girl and had her body dumped in a cement mixer near a beach outside the capital.

Hey, I went swimming and at the same time i was singing and praising God. Does that count or is there some special water that needs a mans blessing in order for it to count?

Well I believe the Scriptures. First Peter 3:21 says it DOES save you.
What does 1 Peter 1:18-19 say?

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

You say "water" saves, 1 Peter 1:19 says we are saved/redeemed "with the precious BLOOD of Christ". 1 Peter 3:21 says that baptism is the "like FIGURE". It doesn't say that water will redeem you or wash your sin away. Scripture does not contradict Scripture...so which is correct? Are we saved by water baptism (which is the "like figure") or by "the precious blood of Christ"? Can't be both.

i understand your situation...
Initial Salvation experience is Good.
Now go to Church Fellowship where they follow Apostolic Doctrines.
Pray and God will lead, even if it takes time..

Tell the Pastor there about your Desire to become more close to God.
He will Baptize you in water, and later wait upon God to Anoint you with Holy Spirit.
Just submit yourself to God,God will make everything come to pass..

Rely on God and He will take you to the Holiness level required in your life. All Struggles He will Bear.
Trust in Him....
Christian Life is walk to Perfection in Christ, for that standard according to Holy Bible must be met.
Above all,Let God Lead you to walk in His Humility and no power can harm you then.
It might be a struggle sometimes, but when God says He will not forsake,He will not :)

Mediate and Pray to God as a routine and attend Church Fellowship for your Spiritual Growth and also to help others.
Submit to God slowly even if its not possible suddenly,...He will Lead in His Higher ways which even if sometimes confuse us in the end leads to Unending Joy and Glory of God.

God Bless.

are you sure? cause some say I'm not truly saved until I have been baptized in water. Even though I speak with the tongues of angels and I have laid my hands on the sick and in Jesus name they were healed and set free. Did I miss something, I meant how does one go about being baptized, is it a big ceremony where you invite family and friends or is it something done alone. Is it special water or just plain stuff from the spigot. I'm trying to understand cause I don't want to go hell.

You think Peter (God's Word) is referring to a water baptism here? Wow! I am not even English and I know Peter is talking about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit here. THE RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ is not in WATER... It is IN SPIRIT. So it is the SPIRIT BAPTISM that makes Jesus ALIVE IN US....

NO one can have a clean conscience being baptized in water, but in Spirit comes ALL the heavenly gifts, of which the clean conscience is one of the gifts.

Kerry your fruit tells what tree you are. My fruit is BAD so I am still a BAD tree, may God save me... Amen!

Kerry the Lord Jesus is my pastor and His doctrine is in the KJV for me... I love that Word of God as much as I love the Lord on the cross that now stands on the right hand of the Father... Kerry the cross was and still is the beginning of EVERY Chrsitians life in Christ.
