This is the first thread I came to this morning. Last night while praying the Lord placed it upon my heart that I was mocking an instruction of the Holy Spirit to you. I'm not sure why he's made this sinful for you but the Lord placed this on your heart for a reason. You are growing up in a totally different social climate than I. I just want to apologise for my sence of humour mocking you in something that the Lord placed upon your heart. I am truly sorry.

After reading all this... I come to the conclusion I had before I read it.

Intent is the issue, not the article of clothing itself. Consideration of the other sex's flesh desires to avoid provication is warranted.

I have had a really good laugh...but do feel somewhat perturbed by the sarcastic and outright verbal bulling at yaeger1...the thread was about dress code in general, not just thongs...anyway has anyone on this thread the tiniest bit of a Shepard's Heart...by the posts I don't think so...shame on us!...shame on us all!

Rom 14:1 Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.

Rom 14:2 For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.

Rom 14:21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

Rom 15:1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

1Co 8:9 But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.

1Co 8:10 For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol's temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things offered to idols?
1Co 8:11 And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
1Co 8:12 But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
1Co 8:13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

1Th 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

Thanks for your post. I agree that we need to be more patient and more kind, always.

However, most (nearly all) of what was said here was for reproof and correction. We cannot let dangerous, false ideas go without correction. Perhaps it would have been best for those of us who disagreed with yaeger to simply not say anything more after the first page or so, but then again, should we not stand up for truth and sanity?

I think sometimes christians are just squeamish about some things and try to use biblical principles to endorse the socially conservative views we already hold, beyond those required by christianity.

If you can't see underwear, there's nothing wrong with it.
