Once a Christian is saved, is it possible to lose your salvation?

I don't think so. But at the same time I don't think you can live a life characterized by sin and be saved. I would say perseverance in the faith is a mark of true, saving faith.

I think the following verses indicate that a person's salvation is secure:

John 6:36–40
Romans 5:8–10
Romans 8:34
1 Corinthians 1:7–9
2 Corinthians 1:21–22
Ephesians 1:13–14
Philippians 1:6
2 Thessalonians 3:3
Hebrews 7:25
1 Peter 1:5

The following verses indicate that a person shouldn't presume that they can be saved and live a life characterized by sin:

Luke 3:8–9
John 15:6
Romans 8:13
1 Corinthians 10:12
1 Corinthians 15:1–2
Galatians 5:6
Galatians 5:19–24
James 2:14–26
2 Peter 1:5–10
1 John 4:3–10

And I think these verses indicate how the above two lists can be harmonized:

Luke 3:8–9
Romans 8:29–30
1 Corinthians 1:7–9
Philippians 1:6
1 Thessalonians 5:23–24
Hebrews 3:6
Hebrews 10:36–39

(Some verses overlap as the concepts overlap).

You could turn your back on God, trample underfoot His blood, but that would an intentional act. On the other hand, if you are worried about losing your salvation, due to some sin, some darkness that you may still have, then.......no. By your faith in Jesus Christ, your sins are not counted against you, and God does not condemn you. But I would encourage you to seek Him in prayer, asking Him to show you whatever He would of your heart, to fill you with His light that you will know how He sees you, and that any darkness be dispelled.

Blessings in His name

Scripture tells us that Jesus will not let any take us from his hand.
I believe in this promise.
But I do wonder if one were to let pride and hate fill their heart so that they would be like satan I think it is possible.
But I wonder that anyone that loves Jesus could ever make that choice.
God bless, pickles

Hi Pickles,

Job's wife told him to curse God and die. It was not in Job's heart to do so. But we know from what John wrote that there were some who had gone out from them, from the body. But John says that they never were really of the body, else they would not have left.

I believe that some profess Jesus, and as He said, they are promised salvation, if they remain steadfast in their confession. But some confess, and never come to the knowledge of Jesus. That is, they never come to know Him, never enter into the life saving relationship with Him that is life, that is salvation. And from there we are called to go farther, and expand this relationship to include the Father.

No one can take one from His hand who hears His voice and is known by Him. Notice how in His promise that He goes on and brings His Father into it, saying that no thing is greater than the Father to take out of His hand? He finishes by saying that He and the Father are one.

Blessings sister
