Ask God for more faith and then prepare yourself through prayer and reading His Word so that you can handle that which God sends your way in response to your request of Him. Best to be firmly grounded in Jesus when those fiery trials come to refine you or else you will be tossed about like a leaf in a storm (trust me, I asked God to do with me whatever He wanted, but I was ill prepared to handle what came my way).

My question would be; "What are you doing with the faith you already have?" Faith is like a muscle, it has to be exercised to grow stronger. That mustard seed can move mountains in Jesus name. If you hear God's voice and He is leading you to do something, then obey Him, and see what happens. Remember; God desires obedience not sacrifice.

In Christ,
John

Beloved,
The best way to grab and use that Faith is thur Gods letter to us the Bible, Its a history Book!!!

thier are so many that bare witness to things that happened, Look for the" Fulfilled Prophecys":
(Our Father declares the end from the beginning( Isaiah 46: 6-10)

There is 1,000 of promise's our Father gives in His letter to us, Look and read in the Preservation of the Text: Jesus states: " Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away" ( Luke 21:33) the words of God will be faithfully preserved.

live by the bible: it is written Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of our Father (matthew 4:4)

Test all things!! Hold fast what is good!!!(1 Thessalonians 5:21) always back up what you hear by scripture beware of false teachings!!!

The Anti-Christ will come first, if you are in your flesh body and hear Jesus has come dont belieave it.

Test each of the Ten Commandments by applying them in your life. Jesus said "If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments ( Matthew 19:17)

Talk to Our Father all day!!! tell him you want more Faith to be-leave his word and do his will!!!ask him to send more Angels to show you the way!!! and Hold on my Brother for our Father will!!

Dont-cha have that man that sits on your shoulder and says man I need to stay out of that Its trouble!! you know the one that says man dont still that candy bar its wrong!!!!!! sure you do!!! Thats Gods power Son!! he will keep ya out of trouble,Thats he's Law wrote in your Heart!!!Thats the Holy Spirit at work!!! "and just as sure as you go to do something thats not right" he will speak to you!! and you will hear Him , always remember our Father Claims you, "Thats Faith" because you will hear him Calling!!!!

Do your best to be obedient to him, I would say. That makes it easier. Then trust him.

Romans 10:17
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

What you DO or don't do with what you've already got is what either increases or lessens your faith. Be a DOER of His word! When you read that the apostles or disciples did something, know that you can also do so in the name of Jesus Christ.

Remember:
A new Christian can have read only a few chapters of the Bible, but is willing to DO what he/she has learned. That person has GREAT FAITH.
Then there is the 20-veteran 'Christian' that has read the entire book several times and even talks about what he/she read. But they do not DO what they have read. That person has little faith...little BELIEF that what they've read is true.
Faith IS a choice.

John and MaggieMye, may God bless you both dearly for you have spoken the truth. What you have to remember vote4Jesus is that 'Faith' is a gift in the first palce! and as John and Maggie have said what are you doing with the Faith you already have. Jesus spoke a few parables about this.

Just decide to have it. God already gave it to you. It says in his word he has given faith. Even if its as tiny as * that its yours and it moves mountians. Now you know you have it go use it and move mountians in the name of the Lord.

Howdy Vote4Jesus, you do know the Apostles asked Jesus this same question, but before I go into that I think Lighthousejohn and MaggieMye gave great answers.

Luke 17:5-10
5) And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6) And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7) But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8) And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9) Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10) So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Jesus is telling His apostles here just a little faith is all it takes but for faith to grow it must be exercise and we must be humble as a child (Matthew 18:3-6). For the apostle are told to do what they are commanded and we as Christian are commanded to Love God and one another (Matthew 22:37-40; John 15;12). If you want your faith to increase love others, this is not possible for us as humans without the help of the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).

For what does Paul the Apostle said is the work of faith: For in Jesus Christ neither circumsicion availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:6
Isn't this what James was trying to tell us in James 2. (8) If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: (9) But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
James 2:8-9
If we would look at these verses than read of faith without works being dead (James 2:17,26), we would understand that faith without love is DEAD. IMO if you want your faith to grow love God and others like Christ love us (John 15:13--I John 3:16).

Seek not faith but rather seek the Lord, and be still before Him, to meet Him in your heart. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Always this has been said to be the bible, but is it not truly the Spirit, the voice of the Son of God?

Moses had great faith, before the words of the Lord came to him at the burning bush. What kind of faith? He rose up and slew an Egyptian overseer.

After the burning bush, after hearing the voice of God, he had a different kind of faith, and he was a different kind of man. When we meet Jesus it is much more than what Moses saw in the burning bush, for we see one who has become like us in every way, who loves us without measure, and seeks to make us His friends. This is faith.

I have found spending time with God through prayer helps. A nice quite room, and just opening myself up to Him. I have also found doing Bible studies with my fellow church members is great way to increase your faith also.

You can expect to recieve more faith by abiding in the word of God. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. also through prayer, if you ask of the LORD you shall recieve my brother...and also remeber because you have hoped for it you now have more of it...faith is the substance of things hoped for Amen!!!

Be blessed

Hi vote4jesus,
You have received some terrific answers. I would like to add these comments. Be very careful, even be fearful. I am not sure if you know what you are asking for; so far as its consequences.
Note Jesus said things like if you had faith as big as a mustard seed (or similar) you could have a mountain move. Jesus also said if he had asked His Father for 10 thousand angels to protect him from the crucifixion the Father would send them. It is assumed that Jesus had this faith, but Jesus did not do it.Why, because it was not the will of the Father. Many people go to great lengths and practises to increase their faith. By using your faith in this manner I believe you are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. The sin that leads to death. So before I wanted to increase my faith, I would certainly be praying for a knowledge of Gods will. If you pursue faith and it doesn't come then it is God's blessing keeping you from self harm.

I think the word faith in the Bible can be changed to the word trust many times.

Luke 22:32 *But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith (trust) fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Acts 3:16 *And his name through faith (trust) in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Luke 12:28 *If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith (trust)?
Romans 4:5 *But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith (trust) is counted for righteousness.

Trust can also be interchanged with the word faith.

Psalms 5:11 *But let all those that put their trust (faith) in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Psalms 71:1 *¶In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust (faith): let me never be put to confusion.
Proverbs 29:25 *¶The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust (faith) in the LORD shall be safe.

Hi giantone,
If I used your initiials it would be go which would make you a go to man. Yes I love what you say about faith having that duality of meaning.
