"Seeker-sensitive pastors routinely provide a path of least biblical resistance for the unbeliever to gain entry into God’s kingdom. And for many, Romans 10:9 is the shortcut they’ve been looking for: “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Paul could never have imagined his glorious, hope-filled promise would be exploited 2,000 years later as a two-step altar call formula—simply confess and believe. It has become a comfortable, spiritual Fast Pass for people who have no interest in submitting to the lordship of Christ.
Joseph Prince, a mega-church pastor, best-selling author, and TBN regular, offers this cheap invitation to those who visit his website:
The Bible tells us how to be saved and have eternal life: Believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins and was raised from the grave, and confess with our mouths that He is our Lord and Savior. . . . To be saved and to receive all that Jesus has done for you, you can make Him your Lord and Savior today by praying this prayer: “Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord and my Savior, now and forever. I believe that You rose from the dead and that You are alive today. Because of Your finished work, I am now a beloved child of God and heaven is my home. Thank You for giving me eternal life, and filling my heart with Your peace and joy. Amen” (emphasis added). [SUP][1][/SUP]
Unfortunately, Joseph Prince’s textploitation is nothing unusual in the current evangelical climate. Regardless, reading the rest of Romans would be far more beneficial than tuning into Prince’s next broadcast. Paul made it clear elsewhere that our confession and faith are proven false if there is no fruit of repentance in our lives (Romans 6:1–18)."....Gty.com

It isnt slander if it is true. Who has eyes to see and ears to hear? Will you bother to read this or will you jump in to respond out of sheer stubborn ignorance?
what must I do to have eternal life. Jesus said I can have it right now where I stand, John said I can know I have eternal life, right now where i stand.

There are lot's of self-proclaimed heretic hunters on the internet. To them everyone is a heretic.

There are websites dedicated to the heretic Billy Graham. Billy Sunday, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Stanley, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, John McArthur, Paul Washer, Joseph Prince, Bill Johnson, Martin Luther, John Calvin..etc..basically anyone who is known has a website dedicated to their "heresies"

There are even websites dedicated to the heretic apostle Paul because his epistles "conflict" with some of Jesus' words.

Basically these self-proclaimed heretic hunters have a beef about some thing with what someone else believes and so they are now "heretics". "If people don't believe the way that they do - they are heretics and they try to prove it with "their" version of what the scriptures say.."

It's the nature of the beast.

Where these types cross the line is when they turn a disagreement that they have with someone doctrinally on a secondary issue and turn it into "So and so is a heretic/satanist/controlled by a demon" type stuff.

This so-called heretic is for repentance and leading a holy lifestyle so slander is being done towards this brother in the body of Christ and lot's of malice too. Both of which are works of the flesh.

Let's hear what he actually has to say about repentance himself - not what some heretic hunter "says he says".

I just noticed something at the end of this manifesto .This misguided theology has been cut and pasted from John MacArthur's Grace to you Website. Welcome to ignore.

John MacArthur is not about truth he is about division and strife and has openly blasphemed the work of the Holy Spirit as coming from the devil.

Adding another to the rapidly growing ignore list

What does a sword do? Well, the blade of a sword cuts and divides.
Mathew 10:35Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn ‘A man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’…

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Thats awfully foolish for you to speak from whence you know absolutely nothing about me! It appears that you have done this at least thrice just today alone! First you assume that the word of God brings us all together! Then you go as far as to say that John MacArthur has blasphemed the Holy Spirit without your backing that statement out with some verifiable proof! Then ,you surmise falsely that Ive not ever led anyone person to the Lord. You are on shaky ground .You have bore false witness several times.

1 Corinth 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.

[h=3]Proverbs 6:16-19[/h][h=3][/h] There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

[h=3]Exodus 20:16[/h][h=3][/h] “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

[h=3]Ephesians 4:25[/h]
[h=3][/h] Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

what must I do to have eternal life. Jesus said I can have it right now where I stand, John said I can know I have eternal life, right now where i stand.

What must I do to have it, and to know I have it?
I feel it best to defend our stance on the word since that is the truth right and that is what IS our daily bread...
Mark 1:15
"The time is fulfilled," He said, "and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!"

Matthew 4;17
From that time Jesus began to proclaim and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near!"

Matthew 3:In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” 3This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”…

There can be no salvation without God first bringing us to our knees (contriteness) having the ability to see our wicked hearts and we mourn our sin! REPENTANCE is a changed heart. Romans 9:9-10 and Romans 3:10

Scripture explains scripture :

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:2–5).

Exposing false or weak teaching is something all need to do for each other and ourselves. However, find the exact weak teaching and provide a biblical well thought out Holy Spirit driven response please!

MacArthur has many problems with his teaching as well and is constantly pushing his latest book, so what is the difference.

All I see is the pot calling the kettle black. Your argument is self-defeating sorry to say.

I was working on it. You need to learn some restraint
Romans 12:1
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

(I Corinthians 9:25). A person who has self-control is mild and calm, avoids extreme behavior, and exercises self-restraint in both actions and speech. Although restraint and self-control aren't easy, they are necessary if one ever wants to operate in the fruit of the Spirit. After all, temperance and love are the bookends that hold all the other fruit in place.

You seem to be very baby like in your faith. GROW UP.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. You make a sweeping statement and have not proven it with verifiable facts Why dont you do that before asserting your puffed up disposition:)

I suppose Christ was just blowing smoke when he told us to test all things? You must walk by the spirit of truth. It seems obvious to me that JP's personal "revelation" would be your first clue.

Being saved by grace through Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection is my first clue as it is the true gospel of the grace of Christ.

I take it you never listened to the teaching in order to even test it. Most self-proclaimed heretic hunters don't actually either....but the reality is - that is to be expected in these cases. Carry on....:)

Good stuff Lynn!
Many also believe the messenger of Satan sent to buffet Paul to keep him from exalting himself was a Spirit of Anger.

Just a side note an nothing more and you may know this or not.

This is not clearly what Jesus said in John 10.10 Jesus said the THIEF comes and many decades ago, certain tele-evangelists started saying the "ENEMY' or "SATAN" not the THIEF. This was too help propel the false prosperity gospel message. They further strayed and said and that in John 10.10 The THIEF that Jesus was talking about was the enemy of our soul, Satan, and the whole discourse in John 10 about the Good shepherd was about Satan Vs. Jesus, because the Enemy comes to steal..when in reality it is the THIEF and this is interpretation is not even close, but could does have its roots in Satan.

Proper Bible interpretation always asks who is talking and who is that person talking to. If we apply these 2 simple rules, we learn immediately who the enemy was Jesus was referring to in John 10.10, but to learn that, we must first go back a chapter and start at John 9.40. Why go back to John 9.40? because many preach and teach that Jesus was talking to his disciples in John 10 and therefore they came up with the idea that the enemy must be Satan.

However, the Bible should not be read as a linear book. Meaning you read one chapter and it ends there. Romans 1-8 must be read as a continuous thought to understand the gems it offers. Likewise Matthew 5, 6 and 7 is the complete sermon on the mount and never ends at each chapter.

The same is true for John chapters 9 & 10, you must read Chapter 9 to understand the discourse on the Good Shepherd and at John 9.40 is where we get revelation knowledge.

The disciples were not with Jesus when he found the Blind man that had been put out of the temple. After he speaks to the blind man we pick up Verse 40 below...

John 9.40-41
Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, “We are not blind too, are we?” [SUP]41 [/SUP]Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, ‘We see,’ your sin remains.

John 10.1
“Truly, truly, I say to you............Jesus is still talking to the Pharisees, he spoke to and answered in John 9.41 not his disciples.....

John 10.6-7
[SUP]6 [/SUP]This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them. [SUP]7 [/SUP]So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.....Jesus is still talking to the pharisee's

John 10.10 [SUP]
10 [/SUP]The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Jesus was talking and talking to the pharisees so how could the thief be turned into an enemy who is Satan?

Jesus was not saying clearly it is Satan who comes to steal, kill and destroy, but the thief that does do these 3 things is:
RELIGION! Jesus is not religion and his way is life and life more abundantly!

Verse 19 says: [SUP]19 [/SUP]A division occurred again among the Jews because of these words.
Every where in scripture when the disciples are around it says so by name, the disciples. The term used was THE JEWS, which means the Pharisee's and Sadducee's, because in Vs11-18 Jesus talks about resurrection.

It is religion that comes to steal, kill and destroy and at its heart is Satan.

Hi Eph610, I will need to read your post over again later at work when things settle. Have to say though based on my fast first reading and impression of your words, it sounds incorrect. And the part about Paul having an anger problem and it being a demon of anger and that being his thorn? I just don't see it either. But I do appreciate your post and I will read it later. Thanks for taking time to write a response.
:)
