Why do Gentiles forget that Jesus was a Jew? Why do they forget that it is through the Jewish people we have the Bible we love so dearly? When you love somebody, don't you also love who they love? Our Messiah loves the Jewish people, and not only should we love them, we should feel a debt of gratitude.

History is filled with stories of persecutions, expulsions, imprisonments, confiscations, rapes and mass murder of Jews at the hands of so-called Christians who lost their way. More than 30,000 Jewish ‘converts’ were burned at the stake by the Catholic church from 1500 to 1800 for the sin of returning to Judaism!

Have Gentiles today, lost their way? Are we to be a light unto the Jews? History shows when Gentiles forget their Jewishness we begin to accuse Jews of all kinds of hateful things and to our detriment. Furthermore, as soon as Church leaders forgot their Jewish roots, they started creating theologies that teach that the Church has replaced Israel, God has rejected Israel (see Jer. 31:35ff) and even, that God hates the Jews (c. John Chrysostom 347CE-407CE).

If you love Yeshua, then you should know that He loves his natural brothers and longs to see them embrace Him. In tears He told the Orthodox Jews of Jerusalem, “You will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’” (Matt. 23:39). Whenever a groom is invited to the altar in a Jewish wedding, the cantor sings, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Yeshua is the bridegroom and He will return when they call for Him.

Romans 11:11 says that salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. God has put an anointing in Gentile believers to reach Jewish people. Even as Israel was called to be a light the nations (Is. 42:6 & 49:6), the nations are now called to reach Israel with the love of God.

Do you have the love of God?

Zecharyah 8:23, "This is what Yahweh of hosts says: In those days ten men, out of all languages of the nations, will take hold of the tzitzit of him who is a Yahdai (Jew), saying; We will go with you, for we have heard that Yahweh is with you."

Romans 11:17-21, "Now if some of the branches were broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot have been grafted in among the others, and become a partaker of the root and richness of the olive tree, Do not boast against the branches. If
you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. You might then say: Branches were broken off that we might be grafted in. That is true. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand through the faith. Do not be arrogant, but be reverent. For if Yahweh did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly not spare you."

i posted the same verse in another thread minutes ago, before i saw it here! :)

i read this the other day and it's been on my mind since -- some say it was fulfilled in Christ, or in the apostles - or is it for a future day?

I cant say either way definitively, nothing I have found cements it either way fir me.

With that said I *believe* it to be about Messiah, but again IDK for sure, possibly 2 witnesses or other?

That's some of that replacement theology. I constantly hear our pastor laying claim to blessings that were literally spoken about by God to the Jews. "They rejected Jesus, so now those promises are ours" Really? says I. The modern church has no problem claiming a promise but reject the thought of discipline, rebuke, correction, judgment..."Oh...Those are for Israel" he then says.

I have heard the same many times.

I have literally heard there blessing preached:

Leviticus 26:8, "Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword in front of you."

Leviticus 26:4-5, "Then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last until the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last until the time of sowing. You shall eat your food until you are full, and live in your land safely."

but some how this part is usually left out:

Leviticus 26:3, "If you walk in My statutes and keep My Laws, and perform and do them."

Is either all or none, we cant expect the blessing with following the "if."

Karaster, you ask if we have the love of God? That reminded me of this writing from 119 ministries.

Do You Love God?

Absurd question right? Don't we all love God? Biblically though, what does that really mean? Does God define how He wants to be loved, or do we? Does loving God matter at all, or is it all about God loving us (grace)?

Mat 22:35 - 38 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

Do we love God with Biblical definitions or do we love God with our own definition of love? This matters, right? So what definition are we using? I believe we may have put so much emphasis on God’s grace that we sometimes forget how to love Him back.

1Jn 4:19 We love Him, because He first loved us.

So because of His love through grace, this should cause us to love Him back, right? This begs the question “How do we love God with all our heart, with all our soul and with all our mind? This is, after all, the Number ONE COMMANDMENT. And shame on us if we cannot get the #1 commandment correct.

So how do we love Him? Is there a practical answer to this question or are we left with self-determined philosophical definitions of love?

How much does God play a role in answering on how He wants to be loved?

You have probably heard that the best way to interpret the Bible is through the Bible itself. So, in order to better understand what our Lord’s definition of what love is let’s look at the 7 scriptures written by the apostle John, with the first 4 of Jesus speaking.

1. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
2. Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
3. Joh 14:23-24 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
4. Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
5. 1Jn 2:4-5 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6. 1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
7. 2Jn 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

It should be obvious that loving God is by keeping His commandments. This strips away all philosophical or self-determined definitions of love. When we disobey or ignore His Word we are in fact showing Him we do not love Him, regardless the loving things we might say about Him or to Him in puplic or private . It is our obedience to Him that reveals our love to Him. It is not our loving words or good intentions or deeds.
Why do you think Jesus said this to the Pharisees? Mar 7:6-8 This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

What would you think if your spouse told you that they love you but always ignored what you like and did whatever they wanted to do day after day without ever considering your wishes? What if they did whatever they want based on their own ideas on how they decided how to love you? Their profession of love would not mean much. You would know they are lying or they don’t really know what the word love means.

1Jn 2:4-5 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

So it is the same when we tell Jesus how much we love Him while ignoring or disobeying His Word to do whatever we want to do.

To make matters worse, Satan has taken advantage of our Biblical ignorance of love and it has become wilfull disobedience through overall confusion and has formed a very unbiblical theology that persuades Christians through various movements, programs, peer church organizations that proclaiming and obeying God’s commandments is not love at all, but in fact, legalism. You might even hear pastors say that God’s commandments are a scrary list of do’s and don’t do’s. Instead, we are sometimes told we should focus on grace and His love for us.

Sadly, by down-playing the commandments we are in fact down-playing the love of God.

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Many times I have read here in CC the idea “don’t focus so much on God’s commandments, but just focus on grace.” But what are they really saying? They are saying we should not focus on loving God, but instead focus on being loved by God.

Grace is God’s love for us. No debate!!! Keep in mind that God’s commandments are our love to Him and to others, which we have already scripturally established.

So, perhaps the next time you read “Don’t focus so much on God’s commandments”, we should ask “Why shouldn’t I focus on loving God and others? Sadly, they are in effect saying with their lips “I only care about God loving me and not loving Him back”. Surely, no one wants to be saying such things!! But if you really want to love God, then keep His Commandments. I am not saying that, the Bible is.

Some people actually praise God in the belief that God has abolished His Law. In reality, God defines His own character in His own heart through the law that He gave us, yet some praise Him for abolishing it. It is the same image that we are to conform to and following God’s will is going after Him in His own heart.

Act 13:22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

Are you interested in knowing and going after God’s own heart and do you want to be after God’s own heart? Then I hope you will read all of what David wrote in Psalms 119. It is a long chapter, actually, the longest chapter in the whole Bible. It is completely dedicated to loving God through His law. Psalms 119 does not look like anything you see streaming out of mainstream pulpit too often. Sadly today, the church is not likely to generate too many David’s.

So if the greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul and mind and loving God is actually defined by the Bible as keeping all of His commandments, perhaps there is only one thing left to say:

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

This seems a difficult subject for many today. The church has inherited the blessings God intended for Israel. The church does not however replace Israel because God is going to restore Israel and they will receive the blessings they have long rejected. Christ is for now a stumbling block to Israel but He is the Rock of our salvation to the church.

Israel is not done suffering. Israel will go through the great tribulation before Christ comes to rescue them from complete destruction. The church is already with the Lord during the great tribulation so they are spared this awful time of suffering on the earth.

The church faces only the judgment seat of Christ and not the judgment appointed to Israel or the Great White Throne judgment.

Israel's great blessing on the earth is during the millennial reign of Christ. Christ reigns from Jerusalem the city of David. As the church we will reign with Christ and rejoice in the blessing of Israel by our God. Going to be a wonderful time and then the consummation of the world, condemnation of Satan, death and hell in the lake of fire.

For the cause of Christ

Why do Gentiles forget that Jesus was a Jew?
Why do you forget that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile? The wall has been brought down, all in Christ are one family, Children of God as depicted by Paul as a cultivated olive tree.

When I realized I had been so blind as to the relationship Gentiles are supposed to have with the Jews, and really what the whole Bible was about, I could barely function for days. It was as if my whole life had been a lie! Then I got mad about all the preachers I've listened to. Then I had to acknowledge the truth, I had no one to blame but myself. I had not been diligently seeking God, nor did I love Him with all my heart and soul. I can do nothing about my past, but I can repent, and change my ways.

[h=3]Romans 9[/h]King James Version (KJV)

9 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

[SUP]2 [/SUP]That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

I am just beginning to see how much Paul loved his brethren, to wish that he could take their punishment for unbelief. That's the kind of love we are supposed to have. That is a mighty love! He ultimately died to spread the gospel.

Replacement theology is not Biblical.
The Abrahamic Covenant is one of the most maligned and misunderstood Covenants in the Bible.
The gentile church needs to dig deeper and understand the difference between the provisions of the Abrahamic Covenant.
The provisions can be defined into 3 areas:

To Abraham
To The seed: Israel
To The Gentiles

Ironically, replacement theology actually curses Israel [Gen 12.3] I know many that teach and preach replacement, but I could never do that. The Bible is clear on the covenants, its really not that hard to understand. I think many misunderstand, because they believe the Abrahamic Covenant was fulfilled by the church, when in reality we will not see the complete fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant until the Messianic Kingdom.

It is my own opinion this si why the Gentile church fails so badly today, there are covenants and there are dispensations and to ignore them or toss them aside would be like a Jew refusing to learn by oral tradition.

Will you allow a little gentle correction? He comes back as King of Kings and Lord of Lords...

Rev 19:16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

David is resurrected to be king of Israel...

Jer 30:8 'For it shall come to pass in that day,' Says the LORD of hosts, 'That I will break his yoke from your neck, And will burst your bonds; Foreigners shall no more enslave them.
Jer 30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, And David their king, Whom I will raise up for them.

Eze 37:23 They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
Eze 37:24 "David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them.
Eze 37:25 Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children's children, forever; and My servant David shall be their prince forever.

John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

True religion is not Aryan.
It is not Roman
It is not caucasion

though all of these are invited to become Jewish

Jesus is a Jew
all the bible was written by Jews
all the prophets were Jews
Abraham was a Jew
Jacob was a Jew
heaven will be full of Jews,
If you dont like them you wont be there

all those who walk into the gates of the New Jerusalem walk into a gate
made of pearl with a Jewish tribe name written over the door
I am going into the Levite door, how about you?

I love Jesus
I love his family
I love faithful Jews who follow God and his word faithfullly
It will be a wonderful Jewish place.

are you going in?

the gospel was sent to the GENTILES to CONVERT and Join Jesus family
that is very nice of God.

We will all be under Abrahams faith and Jesus blood
