Amen ladylynn...our loving Father throughout the ages to come is going to show us His "surpassing riches" of His grace in kindness to us in Christ. When Paul speaks of the "surpassing riches" of God..imagine how vast that must be?
Ephesians 2:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
So true Bruce!!! It is a shocking assault on the human brain to step out in faith and accept His love. To find this never ending source! Each time Jesus shows up and out in my life I am always in shock that He still has more to show me about His love (grace). There is always MORE. Funny too how those old hymns keep popping in my brain (More more about Jesus..more more about Jesus more of His saving fullness see, more of His love that died for me)
I want to give testimony of how great His love is and how He will meet our needs and our wants too. He knows what we need and He actually "tailors" what He gifts us to fit us. Many believers are under the impression that God gets tired of hearing from us. That God is annoyed at our constantly coming to Him and asking for things. But the TRUTH is totally the other way around!!! When we go to Him., we are acknowledging Him just as He has told us to do in the Bible. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT to your own understanding...In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
Trying to meet our needs apart from Him is a fast track to a no where situation. After getting off the fast track to no where at age 50 something., I began learning how to allow Him to take my life it was a learning experience that took time and takes time. How do we work to rest and rest to work? In Jesus the impossible IS possible. Being totally UNWORTHY in myself., while yet being totally WORTHY in Christ.
When I first heard about the grace of God in Christ for me just a few years ago., it was then God's hand began moving in my daily life. I saw Him move impossible barriers that used to stop me all the time. He just set them aside as if they were nothing. I saw the total impossibility of the hurdle on the one hand and then., how it was totally gone on the other. MIRACLE! oh wow., words to the song popped into my mind...
Years I spent in vanity and pride, caring not my Lord was crucified, Knowing not it was for me He died On Calvary...
Mercy there was great and grace was free! Pardon there was multiplied to me!
There my burdened soul found liberty!! at Calvary!!
By God's Word at last my sin I learned; Then I trembled at the Law I'd spurned, Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary!!
Mercy there was great and grace was free! Pardon there was multiplied to me!
There my burdened soul found liberty!! at Calvary!!
Now I've given to Jesus everything Now I gladly own Him as my King., Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary.
Mercy there was great and grace was free! Pardon there was multiplied to me!
There my burdened soul found liberty!! at Calvary!!
Oh the love that drew salvation's plan, oh the grace that brought it down to man! Oh the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!!
Mercy there was great and grace was free! Pardon there was multiplied to me!
There my burdened soul found liberty!! at Calvary!!
Although this song is probably only meant for someone first saved., I see it actually is for those of us who are saved and have gotten a revelation of His grace for us personally. How grace will propel us to higher ground in our faith and trust and dependence on Jesus.
I sort of feel like a major prodigal daughter or a kind of Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers. Left out in the world naked without help and treated like a slave. Having nothing but the cloths on my back sort of speak. No family no friends no means of support just like Joseph when he was in the slave market being looked over and judged by strangers. Gone from being a safe son to being a no body and a slave to be bought and sold and used.
But God was with Joseph. (and me) God taught Joseph how to survive by depending on Him. It took some time but Joseph kept following God although confused at times and hurting he was not alone. God gave Joseph favor with those he came in contact with. God was with Joseph and although Joseph was not perfect God was with him. Soon Joseph was up and out of the impossible mess he was in and God renewed his life. And in my case He is restoring the years the locusts have eaten.
I see the similarities and although I am not a Joseph, I'm a daughter who Jesus is with. And He has done amazing and impossible things to and for me in only a few years. Like Psalm 91 states so clearly for us if we just listen and believe.
Bible gateway from the Amplified Bible version;
[h=3]Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord.[/h]91 He who [SUP][
a][/SUP]dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure
and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].
[SUP]2 [/SUP]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
[SUP]3 [/SUP]
For He will save you from the trap of the fowler,
And from the deadly pestilence.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]
He will cover you
and completely protect you with His pinions,
And under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]
You will not be afraid of the terror of night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
[SUP]6 [/SUP]
Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]
A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But danger will not come near you.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]
You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyes
And witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].
[SUP]9 [/SUP]
Because you have made the Lord, [who is] my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
[SUP]10 [/SUP]
No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]
For He will command His angels in regard to you,
To protect
and defend
and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
[SUP]12 [/SUP]
They will lift you up in their hands,
So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]
You will tread upon the lion and cobra;
The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]
“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him;
I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].
[SUP]15 [/SUP]
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]
“With a long life I will satisfy him
And I will let him see My salvation.”
Don't rationalize God's promises with human reasoning. Just take those promises and claim them as yours because they are IN Christ yours. And watch Him bring them to pass in your life. I've found He has healed me progressively and is still healing me of many different issues both mentally and physically.
Some 10 fold., some 50 fold., some 100 fold. There is always more to learn and more healing to be had.
