MaggieMye you're most appreciated for your concern and helpful words...
But you say that( i don't need a religion)yet you contradicts yourself in saying that( I need to worship God)... What I said was that you need a RELATIONSHIP. Being in relationship with someone means that you KNOW them. Worshiping God is one of the requirements HE sets down in His instructions to us.
How can I worship him without following a true religion ?? In His instructions to us, the Bible, we are told that "true religion" is to care for the widows and orphans. This means that we make sure they have the provisions that they need and also that we help them to understand that it is GOD that is providing for them THROUGH those that KNOW and serve Him.
We don't set rules for ourselves to follow. right?? No we don't. God has given us instructions on how to be in right RELATIONSHIP with Him. It is the Bible. The Bible is His 'love letter' to us that helps us know Him in a PERSONAL way.
Who sets them? He did. He had them all planned out before He ever created the earth and all that is on it. His desire was to have fellowship with us. Being a loving God, He never violates the free will He created us with. It is our CHOICE to love Him and obey Him. When we obey, we receive the blessings that He has waiting for us. But when we sin, we basically tie His hands and He cannot bless us...He cannot bless disobedience because He is a righteous and loving God.
When we CHOOSE to sin, God has to allow the devil to step in and have his way in our lives. Jesus has given us authority over all evil, but it is OUR choice to confess sin, ask for forgiveness (He always gives it!) and repent...turn away from the continuance of that sin.
What proof do we have that this religion is ok and that one is not? Again, it is RELATIONSHIP. He loves us; We love Him. He instructs us; we obey Him; He blesses us; we share in His kingdom.
Considering the fact that there are a lot of religions and cults. There are. But our guideline is His instructions to us. We can confront every religion and every cult with the Word of God, the Bible. What does not line up with His instructions is what we are to walk away from for it WILL lead us away from Him....into deception which leads to eternal hell.
Is the bible true? Who wrote it ?And Why do you have different copies and versions of it if its true? Yes it is true. It was written by 40 different men, all chosen by God to do so and inspired by the Holy Spirit. And...while some try to say that there are verses in the Bible that conflict with each other, if they are read in context, it always proves not to be the case. In fact, the text of the Bible supports the text of the Bible....which is to say that for any given verse, there are other verses that support or confirm it. Why are there different versions? Because MAN always thinks he knows better than someone else. The KJV does have some translation errors in it, but not to the point of changing the textual concept being put forth. The New American Standard is thought by some to be the most accurate as far as translation (not interpretation!) goes. Almost, if not all, of the others were done in the effort to make it easier to read, but, in essence, either ended up adding to or taking away from the simple truth of His word. If you can read Hebrew, Arabic or Greek, then you could probably find an even more accurate translation. The NIV version (New International Version) is probably the worst of them all. It leaves things out, changes words that change the contextual meaning, etc.
You said (Jesus) and (Father) and( God) Which one is the true God ?? GOD is three Personalities in ONE GOD; it is like a three-leafed clover...all one clover, but three leaves. It is like how a woman can be wife, mother, and friend all at the same time. But because God is all powerful, it was no challenge for Him as Father in Heaven, to come to the earth as God the Son and pay the price of our sin. It was no challenge for Jesus to exemplify the Father while He walked the earth. And Holy Spirit...like the Friend that we all need, gives us counsel and direction and confirmation. And so we ask the Father, with Jesus as our only mediator "Father Give me ears to hear You, eyes to see Your works and Your kingdom, and a heart to receive all that You have for me, in Jesus' name, Amen!"
The Bible tells us that we MUST be born again in order to see the kingdom of Heaven. Becoming born again in very simple. We simply talk to God saying something like this:
"Heavenly Father I come to you in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. I am a sinner. I accept the sacrifice that You paid when You came to earth as Jesus and shed Your blood for the payment of my sins. Thank you! Lord Jesus, please come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior. Teach me Your loving ways, in Jesus name." Pretty simple, right? It IS that easy! That is the way we BEGIN a relationship with Him. To grow in His wisdom and to get to know Him, we read and study the Bible.
Do you have a Bible?
Blessings,
Maggie
