There are many instances in the bible where God asks where someone is hiding after they sinned, if they are hypothetical it would seem like a lie because he would really know.In the Garden of Eden God asks where Adam is hiding after they had sinned. He asks where Satan was when he was roaming the earth. When Christ is on the cross he says Father why have you forsaken me. Could it be that sin hides us from God that it is not just a seperation but a darkness that covers us?

This is the most important question that God asks us! Where are you hiding? Have you read any Thomas Keating? Check out "The Human Condition"

Dear jesus_be4_religion,

When you look at the text, especially in Genesis, get a HEBREW / GREEK LEXICON, and look up these words in there..............Here's why.....

GOD IS NOT ASKING AS SOMEONE WHO SEEKS KNOWLEDGE..........HE TRULY KNOWS ALL THINGS..........

HE IS ASKING ADAM AND EVE IF THEY KNOW WHY THEY ARE HIDING FROM HIM, GOD ALWAYS ASKS US QUESTIONS FOR OUR GROWING AND LEARNING HOW TO TRUST HIM.......OR TO INCITE US, TO ASK OURSELVES, WHY WE DON'T TRUST HIM..........

REMEMBER, WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE FEW PEOPLE TRUST ONE ANOTHER ANYMORE...........TRUST IS LIKE THE FINEST GOLD AND DIAMONDS:

RARE AND EXTREMELY VALUABLE..........THIS IS WHY CERTAIN TIMES IN SCRIPTURE QUESTIONS LIKE THIS POP-UP.............IT'S ALWAYS FOR OUR

LEARNING TO TRUST HIM. EX: I WILL KEEP YOU IN PERFECT PEACE IF YOU KEEP YOUR MIND ON ME BECAUSE YOU TRUST ME ISAIAH 26:3

PERFECT PEACE DOESN'T MEAN JUST PEACE YOU FEEL IN YOUR SPIRIT, SOUL, AND BODY.............IT MEANS ALL OF YOUR EXISTENCE

WILL BE AT PEACE....... ALL OF YOUR NEEDS FULFILLED, ALL OF THE BLESSINGS ARE POURING INTO YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF YOUR FAMILY

MEMBERS WHO WILL DO THIS......THE EXAMPLE THAT YOU GAVE ABOUT JESUS ON THE CROSS IS MUCH DEEPER, IT HAS TO DO WITH THE DUAL

NATURE OF THIS GOD/MAN, CHRIST......First of all, JESUS is the SON, BUT HE IS HUMAN ALSO, AND AS GOD, THE SON, HE WAS NEVER, EVER APART FROM HIS FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT EVER..................FOR ETERNITY PAST............NOW WE CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND EVEN A TINY PORTION OF THE CONCEPT: ETERNITY.........HERE, GOD THE FATHER, JESUS THE SON (THE WORD) AND THE HOLY SPIRIT WERE NEVER EVER APART FOR A MILLISECOND....................FOR TRILLIONS AND TRILLIONS OF EARTH YEARS.......(again we can't fathom this kind of time.....)

And there is a SECRET about why HE said this on the Cross, and I will let you discover this, because only those who hunger and thirst will find their fill in HIM.....I will give you a hint however, it has to do with Satan..........

I don't think we can actually hide from God i think He asks us "Where are you, what have you done, ect " so that we can come out and confess ourselves to Him a sort of time to ask for forgiveness thats just my opinion though lol

He asks for our sake rather than for His. If omniscience means that the knowing of something was the same as the something, He would skip the whole thing and just create the saved in heaven and the unsaved in hell.
