Is it blasphemy to talk to a friend about the thought? Meaning telling them the thought you had? How bad it made me feel to ever even think it?

The meaning of the title of this thread is in reference to Luke 12, and Mark 13. Nothing you can do .

If it can actually be committed under the New Covenant, then Jesus did not truly die for "all" sins.

By attributing the signs, wonders and miracles of God the Holy Spirit to the Devil. Mark 3v28-30.

This is a real warning to Christians who accuse good Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians, who are washed in the Blood of the Lamb, of being inspired by the Devil and the powers of darkness, when they manifest the gift of prophecy and speak in tongues, and manifest other gifts of the Spirit! 1Cor 12v7-11, 12v31, 14v1.

I read many opinions as to the meaning of:

The only unforgiveable sin = blasphemy against the Holy Ghost

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
(NOTE: All mannor of sin & blasphemy's are forgiveable, except, blasphemy against the Holy Ghost)

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
(NOTE: Jesus was in fact lifted up. I believe everyone that lives post cross. Will be drawn to God via the Holy Spirit. The personal choice to REJECT the Holy Spirits offer of reconcilation to God & choosing to remain in unbelief. Is the only UNFOREGIVABLE sin that God will send one into eternal seperation for)

A sinless Christ offered himself to pay sins price/wage, DEATH. Those that acknowledge Christ's redemptive sin atoning sacrifice. Found in Christ's death, burial & resurrection. Have there sins imputed/transfered onto Christ & God then imputeds/transfers Christ's righteousness onto the believer. The believers sins are removed by faith Christ's sacrifice. And the believer is eternally SEALED by the Holy Spirit.

Those that reject Christ and choose not to trust God will be condemned for every sin & eternally seperated from thier creator. This is opinion or the unforgiveable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost .

Simple short answer. UNBELIEF/REJECTING Gods grace & Christs payment. You have until your life ends of Christ returns to decide.

My we all choose wisely!

I would offer..Blasphemy is to attribute the work of one author or founder to another author. It is like plagiarism.

Christ the anointing Holy Spirit of God is the author and finisher of our new faith, new spirit and new heart that comes from Him as the authority or power of God in us and not of us called Emmanuel (God with us) And not God is us as if he was a man and had a beginning of Spirit life or end thereof. .

2Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
If we would have the faith of God that coming from hearing His living word generated towards us in respect to any man we can know the father of lies Satan who has no form has his foothold as the false authority bringing blasphemy.

James informs us as a warning of the antichrists those who do commit blasphemy ..

Note....( purple in parenteiss) by person comments .

Jam 2:1 My brethren, have not the
(unseen) faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.(that seen)

Verse 7 takes it to its conclusion. We are to walk by the unseen faith of Christ as the name, power or authority of God having it not in respect to that seen, the sons of men

Jam 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name( power, authority) by the which ye are called?

Blaspheme which is to also violate the first commandment by having other gods or spirits of error in the likeness of men before him. And not in the likeness of God who has no form. In that way Jesus calls all men gods.

I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man (as that seen), makest thyself God.(not seen) Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, "unto whom the word of God came", and the scripture cannot be broken; John 10:35

Blaspheme against the sons of men pertaining to the flesh as that seen will be forgiven. This includes blaspheme against the Son of man Jesus who refused worship in respect to that seen His temporal flesh .

I think it reminds us to walk by faith the unseen eternal and not by sight that seen the temporal . It is why in John 6 Christ said ; His flesh as the at seen profits for nothing . But the Spirit of His word gives spirt life as eternal life.

If a person is in error like a pastor or bible teacher teaches error and its turns out to be false. He can be forgiven as long as his teaching does not deny the grace of God that teaches us to say no to those things of men..

If we are seeking the personal approval of God and we deny His teaching ministry in unbelief (no faith) there is no forgiveness but as we are informed a person is in danger of eternal damnation........ as a warning.

Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men,(as that seen)and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost (not seen) hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. Mar 3:28

Peter was forgiven of his blasphemy against the Son of Man which I think teaches the believer to be cautious and try and rightly divide between the "things of God" not seen and "those of men" seen .

Satan remains as a lion on the prowl, as the god of this world, the spirit of error or the spirit of the antichrist who works in the affairs of men.

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not "the things that be of God", but "those that be of men". Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.Mat 16:22-24

Blaspheme is accrediting the "things that be of God", giving it over by denying they are of Him but of men.

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him (no faith) , he also will deny us: If we believe (Him) not, (no faith) yet he abideth faithful: (the source of faith) he cannot deny himself. 2Ti 2:11 (That he is the source of our new Christian faith)

B....,

That is a stretch.

It is listed as an ....exception....to forgiveness established by Christs' sacrifice.

Christ said, what the scribes or pharisees did, was Not that sin . Christ did not even say they did .
Why does everyone keep repeated each others errors ?

What they did was speak against the son of man, Christ, as He walked the earth during the first advent . They did Not commit the unpardonable sin.

People are not following what they read .. We're also Not permitted to reinvent these passages to guess what may or mayn't be this sin . Christ was clear in other places in the Bible what this is, so happens to be the only thing Christians are not taught . .Go figure why everyone in these threads are making things up as they go.

can you commit this sin in your head. Can it be commited by a thought.Im just very worried that I might have commited blasphemy against the holy spirit.I feel like I was just really angry and depressed. so in my head I started getting really mad, sad, and emotional.I was just like why go to heaven in my head and then right after that I just started thinking these evil thoughts like blasphemy ones.Im just wondering is that really me thinking that.So im just wondering if I can still be forgiven ? no matter how bad my thoughts and emotions are I would never speak against god,the holy spirit, or mislead anyone.I know who god is and I know hes full of life, joy, and happiness.I just feel like I mest everythings mest up for myself

If you say it, then you thought it! right...There are a lot of people on this forum that have laughed at the Holy spirit and what HE can and cannot do in their minds. So Sad..

Walk trough the valley

Worrier said:
What's your understanding of the book of Ezekiel 47:2-7 brother?
Everyone receiving the Holy Spirit is Healed.
Verse 11 refers to those who remain in the mire: in the flesh, those who reject the Holy Spirit will not be healed: these become full of violence, no room for the Love of God.
The dead sea represents nations, while interpretation is consistent, we don't know the details: waters represents nations Revelations 7:15 gives the interpretation for waters. Not referring to the river of life obviously but those dead in the water: dead to the Love of God.
Concerning progression from ankles, knees waist, to waters to swim in that cant be crossed.
Comments are my interpretation admitting seeing dimly and there must be more to this.
Those that are in waters to swim in that cant be crossed, were to far from the Lord when this last day outpouring of the spirit happened and will not make it in the first resurrection.
Those who the water is up their waist need their loins cleansed of sexual desires that are not of God.
Those up the knees need to be cleansed of divided spirit, divided between the Love of God and a life for themselves.
Those up to ankles are walking close the Lord: are close to entering His house and only need their feet cleansed to walk as Jesus walked.
In 1John Speaks of 3 groups Little children, fathers, and young men refers to those who have overcome the evil.

St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas both said this is final impenitence. In other words at the time of your death and you are still in yours sins you refuse to repent.
