How can we be in Yahshua/Jesus, How do we KNOW we are in Him and what happens when we are in Him?

John/Yahanan 10:27-30, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will any man snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand: I and My Father are in accord."

Hearing and obeying His voice is what enables us to be in Him

Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yahshua, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

1 John/Yahanan 2:6, "He who says he abides in Him, is himself also obligated to walk as He walked."

1 John 3:24, “And the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He stays in us, by the Spirit which He gave us.”

Being in Him we can do His will;

John/Yahanan 15:5-16, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and letting My words; abide in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be done for you. In this is My Father glorified: when you produce much fruit; and in this way you become My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; continue in My love. If you keep My Commands, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's Commands, and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be complete. This is My Command: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

This is why it is written;

1 Peter/Kepha 1:13-21, "Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the undeserved pardon that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Yahshua Messiah. As obedient children, do not conform to the former lusts you had when you lived in ignorance; But as He Who called you is holy, so you also become holy in all your conduct; Because it is written Be holy, for I am holy. And if you call on the Father, Who, without respect of persons judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your sojourning here in reverence; Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver or gold, from your idolatrous way of life handed down to you by tradition from your forefathers; But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot; Who truly was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you; Who through Him we do believe in YHWH, Who raised Him up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in YHWH."

We know we are in Him when we get baptized into Him. (Romans 6:3) Then we must remain in Him.

We know we are in Him when we get baptized into Him. (Romans 6:3) Then we must remain in Him.
I agree, thank you for the Scripture and thoughts!

Romans 6:1-23,

1, What, then, shall we say? Shall we continue in sin, to let unmerited mercy increase?

2, "Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

Romans 8:13, "For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.”

Colossians 3:3, "For you have died, and your life has been hidden with Messiah in YHWH.”"

1 Peter 2:24, "who Himself bore our sins (Isa 53:4-5) in His body on the execution stake, so that we, having died to sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.”

1 Peter 4:1-2, "Therefore, since Messiah suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so that he no longer lives the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but according to the desire of YHWH.”

3, "Or do you not know that as many of us as were immersed into Messiah יהושע were immersed into His death?

4, "We were therefore buried with Him through immersion into death, that as Messiah was raised from the dead by the esteem of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.

5, "For if we have come to be grown together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also of the resurrection,

6, "knowing this, that our old man was impaled with Him, so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, to serve sin no longer.

7, "For he who has died has been made right from sin.

8, "And if we died with Messiah, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

9, "knowing that Messiah, having been raised from the dead, dies no more – death no longer rules over Him.

10, "For in that He died, He died to sin once for all; but in that He lives, He lives to YHWH.

11, "So you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to YHWH in Messiah יהושע our Master.

12, "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires,

13, "neither present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to YHWH as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to YHWH.

14, "For sin shall not rule over you, for you are not under the law but under unmerited mercy.

15, "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Torah but under unmerited mercy? Let it not be!

16, "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?

17, "But thanks to YHWH that you were servants of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

18, "And having been set free from sin, you became servants of righteousness.

19, "I speak as a man, because of the weakness of your flesh. For even as you did present your members as servants of uncleanness, and of lawlessness resulting in lawlessness, so now present your members as servants of righteousness resulting in set-apartness.

20, "For when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.

21, "What fruit, therefore, were you having then, over which you are now ashamed? For the end thereof is death.

22, "But now, having been set free from sin, and having become servants of YHWH, you have your fruit resulting in set-apartness, and the end, everlasting life.

23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the favorable gift of YHWH is everlasting life in Messiah יהושע our Master.”

I KNEW I was in Jesus because the Word of God told me so.

But it was made more real to me when I finally understood that He was IN ME - that He would take me (with all my faults), and decide to live in me in order to sanctify me and use me for His purposes. That He chose to partner with me throughout my life.

And in order to live in me, He first had to give me His righteousness and cleanse me with His blood. Just to make me His vessel. All I had to do was believe.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Romans 8:16

Amesome thought! Children of Yah! What an honor!

Revelation 21:7, "“The one who overcomes shall inherit all this, and I shall be his Father and he shall be My son."

Romans 8:13-17, "For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of Yah, these are sons (and daughters) of Yah. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of Yah, and if children, also heirs – truly heirs of Yah, and co-heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him, in order that we also be exalted together."

Luke 8:21, “And He answering, said to them, “My mother and My brothers are those who are hearing the Word of Yah and doing it.”

Matthew 12:50, “For whoever does the desire of My Father who is in the heavens is My brother and sister and mother.”

1)How can we bein Jesus.

We can only be in Christ because of His perfect work. We are to believe in Him, Who He is, what he has done and what He is doing.

We realize our sinful state and rebellion against God. And that all our attempts to be ‘clean’ are futile (self righteousness) Isaiah 64:6; Rom 3:10;Rom 10:3. We believe that Christ died on our behalf, the Substitute, Once we believe in Christ, His righteousness is imputed to us, that is we are counted righteous 2 Cor 5:21 and our sin is imputed to Him Gal 2:20.

2)How do we knowthat we are in Him and what happens when we are in Him

Because we love Him,we are now in relationship with God (reconciled) 2 Cor 6:11-1; Eph3:12. We no longer are controlled or in bondage to sin, nor is there any condemnation, John 8:36; Rom 8:1 -4 etc etc.

So believing in Christ we are once and for all declared right (justification) on the basis of Christs righteousness not our own. In Sanctification the heart change takes root, we no longer follow the ways of the world, but are set free to live in conformity to Christ from the heart. John 15:5; Gal 5:1, 13-14.

Thats the basics

John3:16- 20:31

16 “For Godso loved the world, thathe gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perishbut have eternal life.

31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Romans 8:1-4

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

And we await our future Glory Romans 8. When all tears and struggles with sin will be gone.

Hi all...This is a lovely thread as Sbg has said :)...

I know I have the Holy Spirit in me because under no circumstance could I ever take the credit for the changes in me ...Since God called me and I gave my life to Jesus, He has made me into a new creation, I sometimes look back on my old life I can barely recognize myself ...

I was a drinker, drank till I could not stand, tried and swore I would give it up to my children, lasted a few weeks then started swigging it secretly, I became darker...I was under the mental health act for 30 yrs, Ii was living like a hermit, shunned the world unless I was going out for my drink, could never go anywhere without a fix, mini bottles became a habit while I was living a lie to my kids, the more I told them and myself I have given up the big bottles, the more of the miniature I bought, did not care what hour of the day ...I tried to quit so many times, even when my youngest who was 15 at the time threatened she was leaving home, it still did not stop me...

BUT BY THE GRACE of God I have been saved, not by myself, I could never boast :)...Ii can now enjoy a little glass of wine if it was offered and walk away, but I can never allow alcohol in my home, for it would be a stumbling block...That`s how I know I have the Holy Spirit in me, He rescued me, I am free, praise the LORD Oh my soul praise the Lord my God...\o/...xox...

Thank you, you know Yah has done wonders for us.Thought it a great topic to dwell on with the body of Messiah! praise to Yah!

For this reason I too, having heard of your belief in the Master יהושע and your love for all the set-apart ones, do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the Strength of our Master יהושע Messiah, the Father of esteem, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, so that you know what is the expectation of His calling, and what are the riches of the esteem of His inheritance in the set-apart ones, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who are believing, according to the working of His mighty strength, which He wrought in the Messiah when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavens, "far above all rule and authority and power and mastery, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all, to the assembly, which is His body, the completeness of Him who fills all in all.”

When I abide in Jesus, I have the fruit of the Spirit in my life:

love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Gal 5:22-23)

Anytime I take personal inventory of my life and I see anything other than fruit of the spirit, I know I have left my abode in Him.

According to Luke 15:4-6, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comes after me when I wander from Him. He finds me, lays me on His shoulders, carries me back, and He rejoices over me. He applies His healing balm upon my heart.

Fruitsof the Spirit! Truly of YHWH! Deep testimony, the amazing strength given from Yah and our own humantiy is always a struggle is it not... I love your honesty, this is a great thing in the body of Messiah, not being hypocritical but humble and honest! I also have moments of weakness and the Spirit of YHWH cuts through my heart when I give in.

Psalm 119:9, “How would a young man cleanse his path? To guard it according to Your word.”

Psalm 119:11, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

Ephesians 6:17, “Take also the helmet of deliverance, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Yah.”
Hebrews 4:12-13, “For the Word of Yah is living, and working, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through even to the dividing of being and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account.”

John/Yahanan 6:63, "It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words (Instructions) that I (Yahshua/Jesus) speak to you, they are Spirit, and they are life everlasting."

A wonderful thing. Perfect unity in Yahshua the most delightful thing a human can experience while in a flesh body!

John/Yahanan 17:17-24, “Set them apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world. And for them I set Myself apart, so that they too might be set apart in truth."That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me, I have given them; that they may be in unity, just as We are in unity. I in them, and You in Me--so that they may be made perfect in unity; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them, as You have loved Me. Father, it is My will that they, whom You gave Me, also be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world."
